One of my favorite delis in the fallbrook area. The sandwiches are amazing and decently sized for a filling meal.

Does the owner really not know how rude his employees are to costumers and other employees?! I witnessed a young lady storm out a couple days ago bawling her eyes out. After talking to her she apparently quit in the spot due to them always yelling at her for "taking to long of bathroom breaks" and not being fast enough when she was new. After she quit the "manager" said "about time?!" WHAT! I will never give those rude old ladies a penny. Didn't bother going in to order food after witnessing this. read more

This place used to be better. The last couple of times I have been there my sandwiches were soggy, and the final straw was when I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the pasta was mushy and tasted like it had been cooked in hose water. It really truly was awful. I do not know who is enjoying this pasta that the staff says is their best seller but no one that knows what actual authentic spaghetti with sauce should taste like. I have been going here for years, and the spaghetti incident was the last time I will likely ever buy anything at Dominick's until I start seeing some reviews that the place has improved. I hate this because I truly like to support small business, especially in my own community but lately this place is NOT it. Please do better! Amazing! Big portions, fresh, family owned, old school, and delicious! A little pricey but you get what you pay for. My pastrami sandwich was flavorful and the bread fresh. My wife's capresi salad was stacked with fresh balls of mozzarella and seasoned well... we'll be back. read more

This seems kinda ridiculous to review Dominick's. Anyone that's been there knows the place is awesome. The sammiches are the best (the main reason I go there but the soups and other stuff are great too), the quality of the ingredients is top notch, the service is great, and it's a mom-and-pop business so you can feel good about supporting local businesses. They've got a small knick knack section with everything Italian: olives, olive oils, wines, breads, themed shirts, and a ton of other stuff. There's a pre-made meal section as well. I haven't tried it but I'm thinking that's going to happen next visit. I'm excited to try a few of the offerings. This is a must-stop if you're in Fallbrook. During a conversation this morning with a friend I found out that our very own Dominics Deli was selling 25lb sacks of flour! I called and was down there 15 minutes later. Well that stinks! Friday family dinner night and we ordered Dominicks, only to be very disappointed. First off, nobody at the counter, we had to wait for someone to come out from behind the kitchen after several minutes. Secondly, after getting home, two items were missing from my order (a side salad and macaroni salad). Third, the food was poorly prepared. Pasta was way over cooked and extremely watery with a soggy piece of burnt garlic toast, sausage sandwich had enough green peppers for a half dozen sandwiches, ham sandwich had ONE pepperoccini, even though we asked for extra. Not sure if it's a new crew but we definitely did not get what we paid for. We will not be ordering Dominicks for a while. Sadly, we try to support local but that's the third eatery we have scratched off our list. read more

This was my first time trying this deli, I recently moved to Fallbrook and saw a raving post on this place so I've wanted to come for a while. I am Italian and I grew up in Chicago where Italian delis are plentiful so I literally grew up on this stuff. I've also been to several of them in New York and New Jersey, I was really hopeful that this would be great. I am very picky when it comes to Italian food as I grew up with very authentic Italian cuisine. I ordered the Italian Combination Sandwich, which was good but not great and I'll tell you what the difference was between good and great on this sandwich, it's literally all in the bread. This is absolutely NOT the right bread for an Italian sandwich. The proper bread to use would have been an Italian roll, a crispy crust but soft inside. Dominick's uses a soft French bread which is not a bad bread, just not right for an Italian sandwich and bread is a big deal when it comes to authenticity. If it had the right bread it would have been so much better and the review likely would have been 5 stars. They could easily toss the French bread in the oven to firm up the crust and it would improve it. I'm not saying I wouldn't return, I just now know what to expect, if it had the right bread I'd likely be back often as the rest was good. Still a better choice then the chains. read more

I'm so bummed.. I love Dominick's and tonight the girl there failed ! It was honestly such a mission for me to get there tonight and that was all my husband sons and I wanted! I had a crying baby an over tired 2 year old but thats not the point! I went in and I ordered a meatball which was good but she didn't put extra cheese. I ordered a turkey bacon with pepper jack pickles lettuce tomatoes salt pepper light oil and vinegar .. I got a turkey with two pickles ("literally") lettuce and 2 tomatoes no oil vinegar no salt pepper or bacon.... I also ordered a kids ham with bacon I got ham.... totally bummed out and disappointed paying 40$ for an order that wasn't right. Smh .... hopefully that server gets in her game.. read more

Dominick's is comfort food for any local from Fallbrook. I have been eating their sandwiches and salads since they opened when I was a kid. What I love most is nothing has changed. I can still get the same order I got over 35 years ago and it will taste the same. Their bread is amazing on their sandwiches-always super fresh! One of my favorite salads is the chef salad. Different than what one might be expecting, but the shredded lettuce, pepperoncinis, tomatoes, rolled meat/cheese and dressing all come together perfectly. I have this salad at least once a month! Dominick's has very good food and great service too. Out of respect and care for the staff and owner, we are doing curbside pickup rather than dining in. We are doing the same all around town. Still, it brightens our day to see the cheerful staff bring our food out and set it on the car after we order and pay by phone. Support this local favorite by calling in your order for prepared dishes and ingredients and pulling right up to the front door to get it brought directly to your car while you're inside without a mask and with your windows rolled up. There service has gone down. Was the first to arrive when they opened. Ordered 3 sandwiches. Other people came and noticed they were getting their sandwiches soon after they ordered. 20 min later passed until I got my sandwiches. Apparently they had a new trainee make all my sandwiches without any help when they had all these workers just standing. They didn't even apologize. I can understand if they were busy, but they weren't. I drove from Murrieta to buy the sandwiches. I won't be going back again. Poor service read more

Recently starting working in Fallbrook so Dominick's is now the closest sandwich shop near me. I couldn't be happier! Consistency has been the thing that stands out the most to me. My go to sandwiches are the Turkey and Jack or Tuna. I always add avocado and they don't skimp at all. A small is typically all I can eat for lunch. A large is big but well worth saving for later. Everyone is always very friendly and you can call and place an order ahead of time as well. Looking forward to trying their hot sandwiches and maybe some of their Italian specials that changes daily. I grew up in the "Friendly Village" known as Fallbrook, California. For those unfamiliar with the town's big offerings, it's home of the Chateau La Rue (site of the Oxygen Network's reality show "Inn Love" with Tori Spelling), baseball hall-of-famer Duke Snyder, Dave Mustaine of Megadeath, and most importantly, it's the avocado capital of the world. It's far and away my favorite food that the birth of agriculture ever spawned. But in addition to the above-mentioned celebs that call Fallbrook home, it's also home to my favorite sandwich place on the planet, Dominick's. As a youngster, I frequented this spot almost daily. It was all about the provolone cheese & avocado sandwich. The cheese was always amazing, the avocado was divine, and the fresh-baked bread has a texture unlike any other bread I've had in my lifetime. Just thinking about it gives me bouts of nostalgia that won't soon be satisfied. If for some crazy reason, you find yourself very far away from San Diego, fumbling through the rolling hills of Fallbrook, please do yourself a favor and check out Dominick's Delicatessen. Being that my hometown is Fallbrook, I have enjoyed Dominicks on countless occasions, and it is a required restaurant that I must eat at anytime I come home. Also, while in high school, I played basketball for Fallbrook High and basically ate Dominicks before EVERY game. It is THAT good. Amazing for basic italian sandwiches, pastas, etc. The ingredients are not fancy, and that is why it is even better. The ingredients are fresh and the cheese and meat are sliced are sliced right in front of you. The bread is perfect deli loaf, and the toppings are perfection: lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncinis, AND FRESH AVOCADO. After all, you cannot eat anything in Fallbrook without adding avo to it. Order: Turkey sandwich with pepper jack cheese, avocado, all the toppings (lettuce, onion, tomatoes, EXTRA pepperoncinis, oil/vinegar, salt and pepper). Eat it with a bag of jalapeno kettle chips and wash it down with a bottle of raspberry iced tea. Perfect, perfect, perfecto. read more

I recently moved to Fallbrook and being a sandy fan had to try the local Italian Deli! First time I went I had the Italian sub. Was very good. Came back a second time and had the Italian beef. Couldn't eat my than 3 bites. The beef was tough and chewy. It was dry with no juice or condiments. I gave 3 stars as an average. Will probably go back someday but will steer clear of the Italian beef! Also...the first time I went there was a very nice and engaging woman that helped me. I lived in Fallbrook for a few years in the late 90's and to this day, it's still my favorite deli! Every time I'm in town, I stop in and treat myself to their small salami and cheese.
