Their pizza, particularly their Sicilian pizza, is definitely amazing and is a great example of why New Jersey has some of the best pizza that you will find in the country and possibly the world. Dominick's Pizzeria is truly fantastic and a definite bonus for the residents of this community. I was born and raised in New Jersey and I have to say that New Jersey has some of the best pizza in the country. Dominick's Pizzeria is a definite reminder of this fact. I don't get the hype... I honestly rather subject myself to Pizza Hut than this! First off the prices are INSANE. Almost $70 for two plain pizzas and three salads. The pizza was soggy and doughy one of the worst I ever had. The "salad" was a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, two olives one tomato cut up and the most cheap provolone cheese I've ever seen. I could not even bring myself to eat it. I would not go back if they gave it to me for free . Omg! Want can I say about the pizza there. Amazingly and simply hands down the best pizza. EVER!!!! Am I being biased? You bet I am. Because when you've tried them all, one is going to stand out. Whenever I crave pizza, trust me Dominick's is the only I go to. I even buy a couple of boxes sometimes to take down south whenever I go there. I planned on trying all the pizza places in Totowa while I was working there but the problem is I started out with Dominick's and then I didn't want to go anywhere else. They have a great meatball parm and the pizza is delicious. I recommend their version of the grandma pizza. I was skeptical to travel 55 minutes to try this pizza that a friend of mine highly recommended. After about 3 weeks of consistency from him, I took a drive to Totowa. They close at 8:00pm and I got there at 7:45pm and was worried I might be getting a left over slice that's been sitting for hours but decided to try it anyway. I got a Grandma slice and it was one of the best pizza I have ever had. When you eat something and it makes your mind wander questioning yourself if you're hallucinating on how delicious this food in your mouth is, that's when you know you came to the right place. This place stands above the vast majority of pizza spots. It is not just their delicious pizza but how well the place is run. They do a really great square pie and the tomato sauce is so sweet and delicious that the pie with only sauce and a little Parmesan is a real gem. The guys up front making the pizza also present themselves very well, with clean shirts and a sense from their work area that being tidy is an intentional approach. I love this place! I used to work in the area and had the luxury of going there regularly for lunch. Their pizza is amazing! I tried most their slices just to be sure. My favorite is their Sicilian Mozzarella slice! Fresh mozz and tomato put together and baked just right! Their garlic and vegetable Sicilian slices are also excellent. I don't even like vegetables but If Dominick puts vegetables on a slice of pizza, it's gonna taste good. Their Italian sandwiches, salads and other meals are all great! It's obvious that they know what they're doing and take pride in making a fantastic meal. It's a family owned business that has a family atmosphere as well. They have a small sit in area inside and take cash only. If your in the area or feel like talking a ride, it's worth it! I had their pizza at my 40th birthday party. This past weekend was the first I've ever ordered from Dominick's for a family gathering. Got pizza, side of meatballs and side of sausage plus an antipasto. The pizza was good. I'd say above average. The meatballs were terrific. Tender and not over spiced. But the key is I really like their sauce. The antipasto was generous with the meats and cheese on top. So today I decided to order eggplant parm, which is my go-to and how I really gauge all pizzerias and Italian restaurants. It was excellent. Nice layer of cheese on top. Again, the sauce is really good. The eggplant might be a little on the soft side, but still really enjoyable. It does not come with a side, but it's priced accordingly. Also ordered a calzone. It was decent sized and full of creamy ricotta cheese. (Who wants a flat, empty calzone)? I wish they were closer, as I can only get them via door dash. They are closed Sunday and Monday so keep that in mind. There were a few things I was looking for that aren't on the menu. The menu is a little smaller than some places, but everything I've tried so far has been top notch. They delivered in a box... which I HATE. Maybe it's because I ordered a calzone, but the box, if left on my doorstep, is difficult to pick up if you have a bad back or bad knees, and then you're left with bulky recycling to deal with. I'd rather a bag. I'll ask next time if it's possible. read more

Just tried Dominick's Pizza for the first time and it was amazing! We ordered half grandma/ half Sicilian square pie and not only was perfectly cooked but the sauce was unbelievable. Stopped in to get a veggie Sicilian slice. They had one left which was the corner (my favorite). When they told to come up to the counter for the slice it was already cut into very small pieces. Came here for a take out pie... after reading all the glowing reviews. Good tomato/garlic pie, except there was no mozz on the pie. Doh!! What a couple of bozos we are! We realized our mistake after re-reading the ingredients. It says nothing about mozz... just pecorino-romano cheese. However... it was still a very good pie even without the mozz. Healthy too! We also had mussels... medium heat. Good... the sauce wasn't as thick as I like, but none the less tasty. The service (for pick-up at 5:30pm) was very quick... no hassles. There are only 4 tables in this place... So pickup is the way to go. We're going to have try their pie again... next time with MOZZ! OH! One more thing. CASH ONLY! read more

I have been eating from this place for 20+ years..always delicious and super consistent..so you're probably wondering why not higher than 3 stars? Well.. I'm going to tell you! The pizza, especially Sicilian is delicious, the sandwiches great but...they do not accept cash, fewer and fewer places still go by this model and as a person who NEVER carries cash on them this makes going to get pizza for lunch two trips, one to an atm and then to Dominicks, huge pet peeve. As good as the food is it is extremely overpriced as far as pizza goes, I swear a Sicilian pie with 1 topping is almost 30$?! It might well go over 30 with taxes or damn close, that's high..I can get a local pizza of the same quality for low 20's. Now we're done talking about Sicilian pies let's talk about the round pie price..a round pie before tax is 16$ lol that's high!! A good round pie is typically 10-13 so why are we paying an all cash premium? Well it is good, I've already admitted that and most places would get slaughtered on a review like this when I write a bunch of negatives but I can't front on the quality and taste of the food, really balances out to 3/3.5 stars for me and I definitely do not frequent because the cash and cost but I do need a fix every once in a while, try it out if you haven't but I think at the very least you will agree about the cost! read more

We love, love, LOVE Dominick's! It's always our go to for lunch when we can't decide. Fresh ingredients, fresh bread. They even wrap the lettuce and veggies INSIDE the meat before putting it in the sandwich so it doesn't make the bread soggy. Such a little detail but genius!!! Unfortunately, one of my all-time favorite restaurants is one from which I will never again order. Because I am so in love with their chicken parm, I requested a tray of it, along with a tray of baked ziti, for a party recently. My mother ordered it for me, and when she asked about the cost, she was told, "We'll have to let you know when you come to pick it up...we're not sure right now." Since we've been ordering from this place for around 25 years, she didn't see this as a problem, and said okay. When the time came to pick it up, she called for the price, and was told $180. FOR TWO TRAYS OF PASTA AND CHICKEN. It was only then that she told me that the last time she had ordered catered food from them, they had overcharged her and she had gotten home to find the tray only half-full. For $180, we could have gotten several different types of catered food from any one of the Italian restaurants in the area. I will never again go back to Dominick's...the chicken parm is good, but it's not so good that it justifies this type of nonsense. Goodbye, Dominick's. Old review: This restaurant should not be called Dominick's Pizza. It should be called Dominick's Chicken Parm Restaurant, because that is all I ever see anyone ordering from there. I grew up in this town and have since moved away, but although most of my immediate family lives nearby, if I'm in Totowa, I'm probably there for Dominick's chicken parm. Seriously some of the best pizza in all of North Jersey! And their chicken parm sub has no equal, either! The pepperoni pizza is just fantastic. We get it every single time we eat here. The small slices of pepperoni are placed under the cheese before baking, so when it curls, it forms these little cups of mozzarella wonderfulness...so delicious. Everything is obviously made with very high quality ingredients and is always fresh. You will pay extra...a pepperoni pie is almost $20, so we don't always get food here. Pizza is very good here. However, there is a huge sanitation problem with at least 1 of the staff. Last time I went to dominic's, one customer was eating his pizza right out of a paper pizza box. At the end, he returned the pizza box to the staff, and the staff didn't think twice to return a USED pizza box straight to the CLEAN stack in the back. I feel bad for whoever gets that pizza box for his order. food is really good. but please don't reuse boxes. read more
