Excellent pizza from their famous square to their specialty slices. On this particular night, we wound up getting only a few slices. Everyone inside was extremely friendly and service was very quick. They have plenty of room inside of out wanted to dine in but on this occasion we opted to bring our order home. The sauce on the square pie is absolutely phenomenal. Perfect amount and well seasoned with a nice tang. Kid said the Buffalo Chicken slice was very good and at first he thought it was 2 slices because of the size. We got the wife a variety slice. I was told that they have the best pizza and I have to try it. The food was very good. There are so many pizzerias in Clifton and they are defiantly on the better end of the spectrum but they are not the best and you don't have to try them. I really did like the layout and atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was friendly, the service as quick and the prices are competitive. Bruno's Pizza is absolutely unmatched--especially their square pie! I never thought I'd say this, but it's WAY better than L&B in Brooklyn. The flavors, the texture, and that perfect balance of sauce and cheese are on another level. Believe it or not, it's even better cold the next day, which is saying a lot! Their round pie is equally phenomenal. Every bite is perfection, and it's become such a favorite in our household that we willingly drive 45 minutes one way just to get it. That's how good it is. You feel like you're family when you enter into the restaurant and although it's been updated over the years, it still has a traditional Nj pizzeria ambiance. I've been going to Bruno's for thirty years. It was always very good. Tonight it was terrible. We had a salad that used poor quality Mozzarella, Lettuce and tomato. I've had the same salad many times before. It was as if they are now using cheap ingriedients. The square pizza which is what Bruno's is famous for was also terrible. It looked and tasted like it was made hours before and then reheated and served. The service was also bad. The waitress after bringing the salad, never came back to our table. After a half hour, another waitress came and put our barely touched pizza in a box. I told her how bad everything was. She just defended their food, saying it was always fresh and never reheated. Well...not today it wasn't. After thirty years, I will never go back! read more

A wonderful local pizzeria known primarily for its well-known Sicilian square pie. A landmark in Clifton for many many years, and well regarded . However, what most people don't know is Bruno's has a back room for dining . It used to a bitc worn down, but that's changed. A recent renovation has elevated the menu and the quality, while still having the taste of an old-school pizzeria . Back room has really freshened up, just like the menu and the quality of food. For the quality of the food it should be much busier. The dining room in the back, even has a liquor license with light drinks, beer, house wines, and some mixers. While we were there, the server offered to make drinks, but we opted for bottled beer and a house wine. Pleasantly surprised with the quality, presentation, and flavors. read more

Been coming here for over 12 years for their square pie. Their square pie is the best ive had and ive had alot! It's grandma style with cheese on the bottom and sauce on top, incredibly flavorful and tasty. I get it well done every time so it's extra crunchy. I think Bruno's has been sold I ordered a Sicilian to go with 1/2 pepperoni ( I don't have a picture ) the pizza was very oily and the pepperoni was put on the long way I mean who does that . I went back after a while. This remains a great old school place. The slices are thin and large. Though they are know for their square pies. The place was busy on Sunday evening with families. Many folks doing a pickup. The service was quick and efficient. Their pizza is great - they should on more north Jersey pizza lists. read more

Great pizza, friendly service & good prices! I stumbled across this place while shopping at a neighboring store & I'm glad I did! The pizza is here absolutely delicious! The sauce, the cheese, the crust- ALL GOOD! The restaurant is more less take out only, but there are a few tables there if you choose to dine-in. It's in a shopping complex with more than enough parking spaces. I'll definitely stop by for a slice or two should I visit that area again! read more

Don't call it Sicilian! It's Square Pie only at Bruno's. New owners, new look, and thankfully the Square pie is still good. A bit lighter, not as crispy but a bit more cheese and that glorious sauce is still intact. The new black ceiling exposed piping does the place good (that old drop ceiling thankfully is gone). They should have kept the front booths though, I kinda miss them, do not miss the old tables though. read more

Very simple review . First discovered this place forty years ago at a third grade birthday pizza party. The pizza has gotten better and better each year that has gone by. This place is really known for its pizza .I agree . It is hands down "the best slice of pizza " in New Jersey . The pizza is really good! Just the right amount of oil to have flavor but not enough to be greasy or anything. They didn't have many options besides pizza when I visited (they had to be made as most things ran out). Kinda limited the options but I'm glad I got the pizza. read more

It is really easy to accidentally bypass Bruno's - it's one of several storefronts in a nondescript strip mall right off 46 West. Despite living five minutes away, I didn't end up stopping by until Bruno's was featured as one of the top 100 pizza places in the country (I THINK it was the Daily Meal's list from a few years ago, but I could be mistaken). The chum I brought wasn't as enthused as I was, but she also made it clear at the time that she doesn't like sauce-dominant pizza. I suspect it was also an act of defiance after having to go to 50 other places with me because they happened to be on a random list, but I can't confirm that. My usual pizza preference is unapologetically snobby. I love Neapolitan, wood-fired pizza and rarely frequent the more blue collar, few-bucks-a-slice restaurants (when I lived in the city, I never went to Ray's, for instance). This is a deserved exception to the rule. It's no frills, affordable, tasty pizza. I always get the plain square Sicilian slices. As previously alluded to, the star of this pizza is the sauce - it's got a nice little zip to it, and it manages to be thick without having tons of chunky, crunchy shizzle in it, like bits of tomato slices, onions, etc., which is a palate pet peeve of mine. The cheese is decent but as a supporting cast member doesn't need to be more than that. The crust/dough is very solid, though sometimes a LITTLE chewier/doughier than I'd prefer (I like a nice crispness to a Sicilian slice). The staff is always efficient and excellent. Most of the time the counter is manned by older Italian guys who know their craft and can ably juggle multiple tasks at once without sacrificing the customer service. Are there better pizzas in the area? In my opinion, yes, but I think this one has the best bang for the buck. read more

I hadn't been in there since the remodeled. It looks great. Ordered one pie with half one topping and half another. Toppings were good but not evenly spread out. Pizza was flavorful however not very filling. Felt that they had cut back on the amount of dough they are using. I felt like one person could eat the pie themselves. Ordered delivery from here tonight via their website which uses Chownow. We use the gym next door and it always smells amazing. First and never again. Buyer beware. Forgot an item, ordered a Chicken Cutlet Sandwich which was described as Chicken, provolone cheese with long hots. Got chicken cutlet with lettuce tomato and onion. Ordered a Drunken Chicken Parm sandwich and if there was a tablespoon of vodka sauce on the whole sandwich it would be a lot. Did not complain about the drunken CP to Chownow, but did complain about the item not received and the mis-described chicken cutlet from their website menu. We only received a refund for the missing item. Absolutely horrible customer service and will mention to anyone walking towards that place while going to the gym or shopping in that shopping center how horrible they are. Seriously many better options in the area with better customer service. read more

So much food that it's lunch for tomorrow as well. Hubby always gets the homemade cheese raviolis. Loves them. Oh, and include a glass of birch beer or grape sea breem. I highly recommend this delicious pizzeria. I randomly came across this place whole furniture shopping with my partner and I'm so glad we grabbed something to eat here. I ordered their shrimp caesar salad and OMG. Their shrimp is jumbo, cooked perfectly and you are served plenty with the salad. The lettuce was very fresh. It was truly filling. I came here for lunch and we sat in the back dining area. The waitress, an older woman, just threw the menus on the table and walked away. What made me write this review is the way she was talking to the other employees. They were hanging up Christmas decorations and she was yelling at them higher, this way, that way then she said I'll do it myself. You don't treat employees like that, especially in front of customers. She must be related to the owner because I don't see how else she can get away with talking to people like that. I could never have anything bad to say about this place! The servers are so kind and funny. The food is always fresh, quick, and yummy. They have a fairly large menu with great options. I have sat and dined here as well, which was very pleasant with my family. They have a small seating area in the front and a larger nicer one towards the back where you can be served by a waiter. They are quick when ordering delivery and they save my card on file for me so I never have to provide it to them when I call. This is my favorite place to order on game nights or for family events!
