Background On Visit: Just recently I got into collection pokemon cards again. I sure wished I saved my cards, but what I found out from others is that it's never to late to start collecting again. For now, I'm deciding to create a binder with all 151 pokemons and maybe invest in some popular cards. Offerings: They carry all the newest and hottest trading cards, as well as some of the most rare and hard to find cards. They also have a wide selection of gaming accessories, from dice and bags to playmats and sleeves. If you're looking for something special, they can even special order cards from their Frank and Son's booth location! Mainly a Yugioh/Pokemon shop. Credit Cards: They're accepted. They tack on tax if you use card. For ETB/bundles/packaged items, they only accept cash. Location/Parking: Major cross streets are Tyler and Main. Parking can be found in front or in the neighboring streets. Ambiance/Decor: Your typical trading card/accessory shop. They also have tables towards the back to play some riveting games of Yugioh or Pokemon. Entertainment: So far I've noticed they've been having Yugioh Tournaments. I probably think they have pokemon tournaments also. Pricing: Most of the card prices are based off of tcgplayer.com. They're fair. I got a decent amount nice cards at this location. Wanted give this spot the chance. Have been going around reviewing and testing out card shop. Came across this spot, took a slab earlier and some cards. Sold the same slab for $170 got low balled for $110. Didn't mind it, I let it slide because they have to make money I guess. Got store credit, got 4 buddle boxes. Ascending hero and prismatic bundle were clearly resealed. Went back and confronto and let him know about. The wrapping was off and cards on the set were flipped. The worst part was that home boy tried schooling me like I was stupid Buddy was overwhelmed with people. Took the L on this one. Definitely not coming back. Got robed $300 for sure. Figure it was a trash spot, it is El Monte after all lol. read more

Solid shop, they got a nice spread of slabs, singles, raw cards, and sealed product. The best part you can trade in your duplicates for some cards you need to complete sets or add to your PC. They helped me master set two series. The prices are fair and negotiable when buying, selling or trading. The staff is always welcoming and willing to help you out with whatever you need. I've been to many shops around the San Gabriel valley area but this one stands out as one of the best. read more

Amazing customer service whenever I goes here and it could get extremely busy during the hectic nights for Pokémon/yugioh tournaments. Parking is limited so you either have to park in the free lot a block away or you are lucky enough to find front parking. Their prices are decently priced and you can always try to negotiate for a better deal when buying bulk items. They take a decent chunk off while buying but you can always negotiate on items you feel should be slightly higher. It is business in the end of the day. read more

You can tell the employees genuinely value community and are passionate about the hobby and helping you look for what you need. They are also always stocked up on sealed so that's always nice! I can only say good things about this business and the people that run it. I've been coming to Domino City Gaming for years now for my tcg needs whether it's sleeves, packs, boxes, singles, tourneys, or just tcg advice. They don't have the card you're looking for? Ask them if they're willing to pick it up for you as they have a booth at Frank and Son Collectible show and more likely than not, they'll get it for you so that you don't have to go through the trouble of finding it. Have trouble finding pokemon at msrp? They have release parties for every new set the day it drops where they sell product at msrp while supplies last. I've even been fortunate to get my hands on some without having to wait in line! Pokemon, Yugioh, Lorcana, Union Arena, Riftbound, etc. they got it all. I've visited this store 5-10 times now in the past few months to browse through merchandises, and I've purchased individual Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, deck box, and card sleeves. The employees there seem friendly and very knowledgeable about their products and prices, as they were able to answer my questions efficiently via phone as well as in-person. In terms of business, the employees were willing to negotiate prices with me when I purchased multiple products at once, which made it more affordable compared to buying at other stores or online. They also seem to be honest salesmen; they informed me when I was looking at slightly damaged cards, even if the damage was barely noticeable to me. So I went three times here so I could leave a combined review of all 3 experiences , just in case one day worker might be having a bad day or a great day. I don't like giving reviews for just one experience. With that being said... my friends don't collect Pokémon cards, so I go into card shops instead of buying from tcgplayer to talk about Pokémon or my latest pulls, etc. always liked the Pokémon community so each of the three time I went, I tried to spark up a conversation, first checking if they were busy or not, nothing too long just small talk. Each time the worker either ignored me or asked you want to look at something or just said said ok, like they didn't want to talk to me or something. So I decided to buy some cards, i was checking up a $50 card and notice a good amount of whitening on the back edges, so I asked hey can you bring it down a little being that market price for near mint is $3 cheaper on tcgplayer. He just shook his head and walked off. Since I don't grade cards and collect only for binders I ended up buying it to support local business. Another time I was buying cards from the $2 binder and on front it said 3 for $5. Along with some other single cards which came out to about $50 but when i was checking out he wasn't giving me 3 for $5. so I asked him and he seemed annoyed and asked where did you see that? I was so flabbergasted! It's on the binder in you your shop! And the third time I went I was buying sealed products and the worker didn't seem too annoyed but still Didn't want to talk much and I got about $150 worth of sealed products for around market price. The reason I don't give it one or two star and give it three star is because of their inventory, very good, single selection changes every time I go, which means they have a healthy community that comes and trade or sell to them. Prices are around market price, maybe $1-$3 more than market price for some cards so no complains, Except for the vaporeon v max alt art promo which was like $75 for some reason but didn't get it so whatever's. just be careful to check the condition, and the market price before buying. With that being said I would go back to check what new singles they have and will prob buy if the price isn't so far above market price~ but I wouldn't expect the best customer service, just go in look at cards and buy and get out. They don't want to talk to you, more about business than the community and I am fine with that, since I have other card shops that I go to that loves to talk Pokémon with me. read more

I went into Domino City Gaming as a collector and because of them I am now a competitor. As soon as I heard that a card shop opened up nearby I was excited to check it out and add some cards to the collection. They got the newest chase cards from the most recent set and also some hidden gems I was looking for. The guy behind the shelves named Castro asked if I played but I told him I usually just collect. He invited me over to a table and taught me how to play and played a few games with him. Then I started coming back more often and ended up winning my first ever tournament. It's an awesome vibe here and I usually spend hours just looking for cards, battling with cards, and talking to the locals playing other games. I have been an irregular customer at this shop for a few months now. I can gladly say without a doubt it's always such a chill environment. I tend to collect and build lots of decks with very obscure cards. While I normally do play TCG's I don't really like to go out and play as much as I should. Things changed thanks to this shop. I now found a place where I can continue my collection and deck building while playing others with similar passions when I get the time to roll in. I have begun planning out more decks and have vasted a healthy collection of meta relevant cards so I can play my decks with others that have modern decks. I show up every so often and ask Castro for weird cards and he always does his best to get me copies of what I'm looking for. He always suggests proxying cards and playtest my decks with him. This is beyond customer service. All the workers here know what they are doing and will match prices with TCGplayer. I've had several shops that sell common cards for $2 when TCG has them set to $0.50. On various occasions I bulk buy here several cards with some having higher values ranging from the $20-40 range along with some sub $1 commons and as a result they will throw in freebies. While some commons are very much worthless they are necessary for decks to function and the shop staff know this and will do their best to help accommodate your purchase. On top of that they offer great trade-in value when selling. Some places will give you $5 for a card they will flip for $15-20 sometimes. NOT HERE. You will usually get 70-80% of current market based on what you are bringing to the table. It's nice having that peace of mind that they will research what you are selling before giving you a concrete below 50% price like others have tried to in the past. I will gladly visit this shop any day of the week to collect more staples, playtest decks or just chill and hang out with other customers and the staff alike. Hell they've had days where a wrestling event is happening and they throw it up on the screen and we watch together. Dope environment. read more

Overpriced and not the best customer service. Seemed like they didn't care if you bought anything or not. Their Pokémon product is overpriced, as if it wasn't available readily at GameStop and target now. The singles prices are way over TCG value. Each business can charge what they want of course but there are better options out there. I suggest you check out Game Cellar on Lower Azusa Rd... way better service and pricing is at msrp pr below.
