We got a mango smoothie and hibiscus mango lemonade tea and the flavor was so good and refreshing. The prices are reasonable, the seating area is quiet and clean, and the staff is super helpful and respectful. I will try to work my way through their whole menu but it's huge so might take a while. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for cookies, macaroons, cake, donuts to ramen, sandwiches and more!

The next time we're in Jacksonville, the first stop will definitely be Tony's Pizza! They have ample seating and an array of different food options like strombolis, calzones and subs. However, for every great one, there are four bad ones out there. And some places like Jacksonville and the last place we lived just don't have real delis of any kind. This is where Jersey Mike's shines. They are fast, they make great sandwiches that are consistently well made with fresh cut meats and a friendly staff. I like that most locations will listen to my requests so I can help them build a sandwich closer to what I want. For me, the 13 is my go-to choice, but there are several others I like, too. They kind of miss on the cheesesteaks; there are lots of better choices and not their wheelhouse. It's about the same as the cheesesteaks you find in some mall food courts, nothing special. A few things I wish they would work on; that seems to be an issue at all locations. Stop punishing people who want a Zero soda, Coke, Pepsi, or Dr. Pepper; it doesn't matter. If you buy a fountain drink, you get refills and a fair price. If you want the only Zero soda that some have (Pepsi Zero), it's only in bottles, costs more, and has no refills. Just put one in the fountain already. Stop asking me if I want bacon if I order a sandwich that comes with bacon. Every location seems to do this, and it's annoying. If you order a sandwich that does not come with bacon, then ask me. But if it comes with bacon like a club, don't pretend you're doing me a favor by putting on the meats the menu item comes with. Some locations, usually with a new hire, don't know how to make a sandwich. I'm typically patient, but when there is a long line and people are trying to get lunch, putting an inexperienced person on the line is not doing your reputation any favors while the senior staff stands around watching them. They make too many mistakes and get frustrated when people are in a hurry and already waited in a line for 15 minutes. Don't substitute cheaper ingredients. I've been to a few Jersey Mikes, where they don't use the house brand ingredients. I wonder if corporate knows this (not a problem at this location). For example, replacing your great pickles with cheap bulk versions is one example, or replacing meats with cheaper brands. Don't let your franchisees do this. Even with your new overlords (the family that owns Jersey Mike's recently sold the company to a VC group known to ruin fast food brands, stripping them down and then selling them off after they bankrupt them). Keep up the good fight and great deli quality.

There was a gas fireplace in the room we were in, but it wasn't lit at the time (June, in Jacksonville, NC, there would be no reason to). There's some faux stonework, but generally the space is forgettable. The food - I had the Minestrone (which the waitstaff mispronounced, without the final "e"). This soup is arguably an Olive Garden strength. It's pretty authentic in the ingredients, and the soups are made locally fresh. I also had the Chicken Alfredo. This is so far beyond Alfredo di Lelio's original recipe, it probably shouldn't be called that. Just call it "chicken fettuccine in a garlic cream sauce with broccoli as an option". I did get the broccoli also. That was blanched well and still firm but good when in the dish. There was a decent amount of a heavy garlic cream sauce and the pasta was ... OK. In past OG visits the pasta was clearly as if it had been pulled from a microwave. This was better than that, but still not amazing. The chicken was nearly undercooked. It was just enough that I trusted to eat it, but the staff definitely need to pay attention to that. Let's talk about those breadsticks. These of course are a selling point of OG, with bottomless breadsticks and the flavorless, nutrition-less cores of so much iceberg lettuce in the bowl they call "salad". The part that sells the bread is the brushed butter substance and the dusting of cheese, lending salt to the flavor as well. But as far as "bread" it's a spongy soft mess. I went because family wanted to, and I was polite and went with it. But I'd wager you can find even better Italian.
