Fitbowl with half chicken and half steak strips
    Antonio S.

Oh my goodness!!!!! The fit bowl with half chicken and half steak strips was amazing!!! I didn't realised the fit bowl had quinoa and kale which made the bowl even better. Definitely coming back whenever I am back in town.

customer service was gone but way tooo many flies i had to get a to go box and go eat in my truck

Please clean your grill, my fingers were black from touching each piece of chicken. It tasted disgusting. Gave my food to the dogs, going somewhere else. Not what I'm used to from this location. Hope it's just a bump on the road & there's improvement because I do love your food.

Whenever I review a business I like to look at 4 things: 1) Food 2) Mood 3) Consistency 4) Service Don Carbón absolutely knocks it out of the park on 3 of these things. 1) Food: Their food is amazing. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. I have yet to have a bad thing on the menu and the chicken and charro beans are one of my absolute favorite, go to meals. The value for your dollar is definitely there. 5 stars. 2) Mood: The restaurants have been so well thought out that you can tell they were professionally designed and attention was given to detail. Each of the restaurants is unique and yet they all still have the same, great vibe. The bathrooms are always clean and it the entire restaurant always has high health department scores. 5 stars. 3) Consistency: Every single time I go, I know what I'm going to get. The food is on point, it maintains a very high standard. 5 stars. 4) Service: This is their absolute worst attribute. How could you have such a near perfect restaurant that has amazing food, great design and consistently puts out great food and then throw it all away by NOT TRAINING YOUR EMPLOYEES TO TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER?? It's terrible. It's bad. If you look at the majority of negative reviews, it's because the service is horrible. I've lived in El Paso my entire life so I understand that some employees are not going to have great English, but this seems to be the rule versus the exception at just about every location. Not speaking great English doesn't make you bad, but it's tiring for a lot of customers (as the reviews state time and time again) -- For having so many locations located near IH-10 it's just irresponsible to have people who don't have strong bilingual skills answering the phone or serving customers. In addition, it's like the employees want to not help you. I order from Don Carbón at least once a week and the other day I didn't get 1 of my 12 pieces of chicken in my box. TOO BAD. The sign says, "after you leave, we can't do anything about wrong orders". What kind of place puts the onus on the customer to count TWELVE PIECES OF CHICKEN while picking up food from the drive-thru?? Come on people. I call to mention it and get a "so sorry, we'll make sure it doesn't happen again". I literally spend thousands of dollars a year with this place and getting a "too bad, you should've double checked" is infuriating. Same with asking for a receipt for a Togo order over the phone. I have to mention "can I please get a receipt" every single time, which the reply is "oh we always do that". Yet when I don't mention it, I don't get a receipt. It's almost comical because it happens every. single. time. Lastly - expediting orders. They have a drive-thru which is virtually worthless unless it's empty and you've called in your order. An average order of chicken takes between 10-15 minutes to fill and instead of moving customers up to different spots to wait, they just have someone sitting a the window for 10 minutes. It's such an easy solution yet no one seems to care. Will I come back?? ABSOLUTELY. The food is stellar. The cost is great for feeding the family and employees. It's healthy. It's El Paso. Check this place out, but just know the staff is mostly rude and mostly incompetent.

    Chicken Quesadilla
    Michele R.

Staff was kind. Ordered a chicken plate that came with beans and macaroni salad. Not your traditional Mac salad. This had peas and corn. I did not care for it. The chicken was a okay, a little too salty for me. The beans were spicy, but good. My husband had a chicken quesadilla and he seemed to have really enjoyed it. I thought the upside down chicken logo was a mistake. It was not. Square corn tortillas ... I think more effort should go into the food. This place is missing the mark on so many levels.

    Imitation Iced Tea

I am a truck driver that walked across the street to check this fast food Mexican restaurant out. I walked in and saw the Iced Tea dispenser, and almost walked out, like I have done many times before. I considered the alternatives, and decided to stay, and drink water. I ordered the beef fajitas, which came with two sides. Then the order taker asked if I wanted a fountain drink. I said just water. I wish she would have asked If I wanted sour cream or guacamole, as I would have happily paid more for that. Immediately a server walked to my seat and delivered the salsa and tortillas. I had 4 corn tortillas which were small and square. They were served the perfect temperature, hot. That was impressive. Very cheery waitress as well. Only a minute or two later the fajitas arrived. It wasn't the same as fajitas in a fine Mexican restaurant, but close enough. (No sizzle.). The food was plentiful and good. Overall it was a very good experience. I thought the price was reasonable. They really need to dump that fake Iced Tea dispenser and make their own. I will come back.

Portions are big and the food has flavor. A tiny bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Staff at the Anthony, Texas location are awesome!

Love their lemon pepper chicken. I wish they would put the sandwich sauces on the bun not on their lettuce.

Not worth stopping. The square tortillas were cold and the chicken flavor was not all that like the reviews mentioned.

Tried the tiger brown sugar boba and tiger taro boba, Tostito locos and Taiyaki waffles (mini and…read moreregular size) with cheesecake flavor, cheese, taro, strawberry jelly and red bean flavor inside. The brown sugar boba drink comes in a slushy form which is also creamy compared to predominantly icy-feel in other places. The tiger taro had a strong and over seeped tea but less taro flavor and a lot of ice, would not recommend it at all. The boba was pretty fresh and had good consistency on the 2 occasions I tried; which is a plus! The Taiyaki waffles were warm, fresh and the filling made them taste delicious. Since there aren't other places hear this will be a very good place to enjoy some with a more than decent boba drink. The Tostitos locos were not great. I wouldn't recommend them. Not a great flavor combination at all. The other downside also of this experience was the long wait to get our items. More than 30 minutes to get out boba drinks and Tostitos when the place isn't even that packed.

The location next to Franklin High school finally opened and I'm super happy they did since they…read morehad to sell their food truck and close the taiyaki location at Cielo Vista because the mall didn't let them sell boba, just taiyaki. The owner told me, when I noticed that his number was a 714 area code on the receipt, that they lived in Southern California for a time and that's where his wife fell in love with boba and when they moved back here they couldn't find a good spot so they just opened one themselves. After starting off with a food truck selling boba and then selling taiyaki, they thought they could consolidate the locations at the Cielo Vista location as they were told they could sell boba after a year lease, but when the year came due, the mall told them the other boba store had exclusivity on selling boba and so they ended the lease and opened up this store on the Westside. I guess this side of town benefited because the food and drinks are really good. It definitely reminds me of Southern California Taiwanese style boba after school spots where kids can hang out, but with an El Paso twist with the tostalocos and other chamoy flavored items. The only bad thing is that it's also California prices but I think it's true of inflation nowadays, but I'm sure the high school kids will still come. I got the 6 mini taiyakis with strawberry jelly filling and they were made fresh and were so warm and fluffy! I was surprised it also came with fresh strawberries, whipped cream and lechera! Definitely great portion control and sharable. I also got the Tiger Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba. The brown sugar flavor is right on the nose, not too sweet but not quite caramel, it's a nice toasted flavor. The drink itself is half frozen which was unexpected and kinda hard to drink without waiting for it to melt to get the boba. The boba was nicely flavored but hard in the middle. They have shaved ice and upcoming items such as sweet and savory kolaches which I'm looking forward to as I ate them all the time in Houston. They're open late and also have a stamp card. It's been a long time coming but I'm glad they're now open so come out and #supportlocal!
