First time trying poke from here and super underrated and good quality! Especially for the price. I appreciated the rice wasn't steaming hot for the poke bowls since it keeps the fish fresh. Small little store with plenty of fresh and hot food available. The service was quick and aunties were kind. Definitely would come back and try different poke flavors!

Rib meat in larger section chicken thigh is small taken off bone
    Mand M.

Ordered bbq chicken and ribs combo Comes with a cold drink of choice that's in a cooler near counter. Upon opening plate, I was shocked at the amount. This plate is $15.95! 1 chicken thigh and what looks to be 3 ribs. You would think oh 3 ribs is ok but no, looks are deceiving. This is the flap end part of the ribs from the slab. It's thin, barely any meat, and it's hard and not edible. Why would they sell this? Picture shows the meat taken off the bones and the one chicken thigh. The ribs were absolutely horrible! It was difficult to take off the bone. There were maybe 3 tiny edible bites off that whole thing, gave it to our dog. Left hungry and sorely disappointed at spending $16 for meat off 1 chicken thigh and some rice. Mac salad was flavorless, it was literally macaroni and extra mayo. Even if it did have 3 decent ribs, it's still not worth $16.

All the poke super good, but this right here??!!

Yall make THE BEST poke! I'm from a 5 hour flight away and crave the fat mussel poke. Super fresh, super flavor and love supporting good people & family owned business. You see my pic is from many years ago but I was just craving it again rn so had to leave a review :)

Amazing! My cousin is a local and recommended this place. Poke was fire!! Owners were so friendly and chatted with us for a bit before we left. She offered us the homemade mochi. It was delicious too!! Thank you!!

The poke is fresh and so good. My youngest daughter frequents this place, more than once, for poke when she's visiting and karioka. The friendliest owners. Thank you for sharing a part of your history with us! TIL the next time!

Best poke on the island!  This is one of those if you know, you know places.  The food here is really good!  In addition to the best poke, they have delicious Filipino food. When it comes to poke, my favorite is the Kaarie.  It is a masterful blend of ahi, cucumbers, imitation crab meat, and avocado, with the typical spicy sauce.  When ordering a poke bowl, I usually get the two choice option.  For my second poke, I either get the Sweet Areya Oyster Poke (Oyster Sauce) or the Shoyu.  The Oyster Sauce one is similar to the shoyu, but a little bit saltier. When it comes to the cooked food, my favorites are the chicken adobo and two of the noodles (chow fun and pancit).  The adobo is very tasty, however, it does have bones (my kryptonite).  The chow fun is tasty and not as oily as traditional Chinese style chow fun and the pancit is just as you would expect it--traditional and delicious!  Oh, and I cannot forget to mention the cascaron.  So delicious!  If you are not familiar, cascaron is a Filipino donut made of deep-fried ground glutinous rice, grated coconut, and sugar (thanks google for the formal definition).  They are round and about the size of golf balls.   They come with 4 on a stick, so you can share with a companion if you are feeling generous.  Great dessert after a poke bowl!  The aunties that work here are extremely nice.  The store is tucked away in the small strip mall behind the Waialua Public Library.  If you are out on the North Shore, this place is certainly worth a visit if you want to treat yourself to some seriously tasty poke and Filipino food.

Front door of Waialua General Store on Sunday, August 24th.

Drove to Waialua for the Polo matches on August 24th and wanted to get food from a local business when we got there. Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Yelp all say it's open on Sunday so it seemed like the perfect option. Their selection looked excellent. When I showed up I was met with a hand-written sign that said they were closed. What a disappointment. Also, I'm sure the store missed out on a lot of sales considering the increased crowd through the town for the polo match. I ended up going a few doors down to a nice little store and spent well over $100. Hopefully this isn't standard practice.

Came here to try their poke mainly. They also have different daily specials for their hot foods. I got a combo plate of their one of their popular poke choices called Kaarie poke which is named after their Grand daughter. This poke is similar to a California roll style spicy poke minus Avacado. I also got their pancit which was one of their daily specials to go with the poke and rice. Besides poke, Filipino foods, and desserts here they sell liquor, drinks, and snacks. I also got their home made butter mochi to go.

We were on the North Shore recently and were hungry for lunch. Our youngest son, who lives in Honolulu suggested we get Poke at Waialua General Store. He's had their Poke several times and wanted us to try it, since we'd never been here before. Not, was he right. The Poke was super ono and fresh! After looking at their Poke choices, I ordered the Limu Poke, my wife had the Shoyu Poke Bowl, our oldest son ordered the Spicy Ahi Poke Bowl and our youngest son had the Steak and Spicy Poke Combo. We enjoy Poke and this has to be one of the best places we've eaten at. The fish was super fresh and so were the other ingredients in the Poke. I was also pleasantly surprised how they didn't skimp on the portions. I bookmarked it, so I can return on another visit to Oahu. We were greeted warmly and quickly. The service was very good and the food was "onoliscious" too. You can bet I'll be back on another return visit. We grabbed a table outside and enjoyed our Poke. I noticed two staff were BBQing Chicken next to our table and the aroma smelled so good. I thought ordering some to-go, but we were full from our Poke. I guess I'll have to keep the Chicken in mind when I return.

Nice local spot for great poke and lunch plates. The staff were friendly and helpful. Many of the customers were locals and knew each other. I ordered the Karee poke this trip. Last week I got the shoyu and the beef and chicken lunch plate. Everything has been fresh and tasty so far. My standard go-to location.

Great price for so much poke! A hidden gem by the north shore. Karriie Style and Spicy Ahi Tuna Poke choose 2 options is the way I went!! Delicious, and excellent price!

I really hate giving bad review.....but it was a huge disappointment despite the raving reviews! That was the only reason I came here on the first place. I ordered half a pound of poke here. The fish did not tasted fresh when I first bite into it and low and behold....I had a really bad case of food poisoning that evening. Cold sweats, stomach pain, you name it, I have it.

Amazing food for Filipinos, especially those from Cebu. It's not restaurant food, like Max of Manila. It's home-cooked and delicious.

The food you can buy from here is actually decent, especially the musubis. They have some hot foods at the front with options like rice plates, pasta, and manapuas. They also have cold options like sushi and sandwiches, or meals that can be reheated. The slushies are different here too, as they have Hawaiian flavors like butter mochi and pineapple, and even the coffee machine has a matcha latte option. We stocked up on food before heading to the airport, and it held up well for dinner on the way home... - Spam Katsu Musubi: Who doesn't love a good musubi? 7-11 is no exception to the rule, as the spam katsu musubi was a nice variation from the usual. It has a nice texture with the panko, and the rice was cooked just right too! - Spicy Shrimp Katsu Roll: My favorite thing from the 7-11... shrimp was tasty with the rice, and it had a nice kick to it. Honestly I could have 2 of these on the beach and call it a meal. - Ahi Poke Stuffed Inari: These were pretty cheap ($7) and honestly were at par (if not better) at some places in the Bay Area where I've paid $15. I love these inari that get stuffed with poke... in this case it was spicy poke, and like the musubis the rice was cooked well. - PB + J: Husband was amused by the pre-packaged sandwiches so we tried his fav combo. Honestly tastes better than some Smucker's Uncrustables. I imagine their other sandwiches would hold up in quality, and they had other interesting flavors. Beyond the ready to eat stuff. the snacks were also worth checking out. They have different ice creams and very different candy options... I ended up buying some as souvenirs to take home. Fun Fact: 7-11's in Hawaii are under the same management as the ones in Japan, so their product offerings are very different!
