Since we are semi-new to moving to the high desert my husband I like to try new places almost every time we eat out. We saw this place a few times and decided to try it and it was so good. I definitely want to come back and try more dishes. Let me begin by saying that their menu is amazing! So many choices and the breakfast choices wowed me. Breakfast served all day so I had chilaquiles for dinner and the plate was so big that I had plenty for breakfast the next day. We got an appetizer of the Jack Tacos as a recommendation from our waitress and I LOVED them!! Imagine a quesadilla and taco in one.. yum! We also tried dessert because again so much yummyness to chose from! We got fried ice cream and it did not disappoint! Another reason I loved this place was the staff, it's family owned and they were extremely friendly. We never had to ask for a thing because they were catering to us the whole time. Was hoping it would be good. Soup taste was like everything just floating in water, no seasoning. Salad was just lettuce and watery dressing. Beans, rice, and chile relleno tasted old. Delicious! This is the first Mexican food place in Hesperia I've been to where the food is delicious. The salsa dip for the chips is on point. I had the Molcajete and it was so satisfying and filling. It's meant for 2 people, but I think it's big enough for 3. The shrimp ceviche tostadas were also delicious. We love mexican food and were driving up Main Street after visiting the vet. Saw this place and went here for the first time during lunch. The first thing we noticed was how clean the restaurant was. Ordered a Cadillac Margarita and it was very enjoyable. I could taste the alcohol.....which was a plus. Our waitress, Maria, said she made it. The chips and salsa were very tasty too. I had the chile relleno burrito with green sauce and my girlfriend had a chicken breast burrito with green sauce. Maria had to check with the cook because apparently all the burritos were made with chicken thigh. She came back and said we could order anything with chicken breast at an additional cost. The green sauce was very flavorful and our orders came with a dollop of sour cream. We both enjoyed our choices. We will definitely be back! read more

Ordered up a large bowl of "Caldo de Pescado" (Halibut fish soup) and a cold cerveza (Dos Equis Amber). Both were served up promptly with a complimentary order of tortilla chips and salsa. First of all, the young owner is awesome, very kind, friendly, attentive, & on his game there. Mr. Senior Steven, very nice fella. Service is on point, quick, & always checking on our tables. We so far been here twice, first time very small group, 2nd time, very large group, also seated us as soon as we walked in. It's not a huge fancy restaurant, but it's nice, clean, kinda small, but still alot of room (if that makes any sense lol). They are not very good either. So they got their $80 sale for some tamales we could've paid half price for at Costco.. and they've managed to lose a customer for life. So I went here only because of the Yelp reviews and it goes to show that even though some places have four and a half Stars, it doesn't mean you personally are going to enjoy that food. We ordered the buffet which was overpriced and very Bland. Maybe the good reviews are people who order of the regular menu but we'll never know because we don't plan to return. Paying $32 for two people at a buffet was a waste of some good hard-earned money and we should have left feeling satisfied and instead we left feeling very disappointed. We order 2 taquito kids plates, carnitas for the hubby and Asada chimichanga for me. Now this is hard for me. I want to give 5 stars just for the service. But I also want to give 2 stars for the food. The salsa had zero heat and not much flavor. The chips seemed fresh and made on site, but needed salt. Hubby said the carnitas were "alright". The kids liked their taquitos. My chimichanga was pretty bland. Maybe we'll come back and give Don Garcia's another chance. But it's not looking good. Sorry guys. Service lived up to the Yelp hype. Myself and the SO decided to try this place based on the reviews from YELP. With that said our experience was as follows: Upon entering the establishment we were greeted warmly by all of the staff and settled into a booth right away. They offered drinks as soon as we sat down and I ordered a Mango Patron Margarita on the rocks and the SO ordered Tamarindo. My drink was delicious and they did not skimp on tequila. The tamarindo was a little watered down is what I was told. We ordered the cheese fries with Carne Asada as an appetizer and honestly thought they were delicious and filling. Enough for a meal. We also had the two soups offered and both were delicious. I ordered the Steak Acapulco which is Shrimp and Salsa wrapped in Steak wrapped in Bacon. Enough meat? It was yummy, as were the rice and beans. SO had a steak with Green chile and rice and beans. I had a small taste. The chile was delicious but I thought the steak could have been more tender. After the meal I ordered a Banana margarita. I tasted more tequila than banana but it was still delicious. Aside from the food, the wonderful friendly atmosphere was great. It sounded like they had a lot of regulars and called some people by name. Our server told us to sit as long as we liked and made our dining experience fantastic.
