This place actually has some decent food (at least they did the last time I ate here in 2023). It's family owned and operated, with the same two women, one twenty-something girl, and an older man, there ALL of the time. The Ambiance is almost fast-food dinerish, with molded Formica table-booth units instead of chairs, but this may be due to them leasing a furnish restaurant that had that design already (just a guess). Order at the counter from a wall menu. It looks like a take-out place, but they actually have table service and serve beer and micheladas. Top dishes that I have had here are perfect street tacos (including lengua - but NO Taco-Tuesdays), good breakfast burritos, decent huevos rancheros, a nice gambas cocktail, a tasty fried whole tilapia, super nice & wet burritos Suisos, weekend menudo, and a perfect chili relleno. As a note: their rice is surprisingly good. I've moved back to Midwest since my last meal here, which only makes me realize how truly good & authentic the Mexican food is here. Ordered food on line on their website about 4pm on a Friday afternoon. My order was to be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant at 4:30 as the doors were being locked. According to their website, they are open from 9am to 7:45pm. They stated that my order was never received. Checking back on my email, they had canceled my transaction. Stopped by for lunch, completely empty! Couple of options on the menu, so I decided to get quesabirria tacos and menudo along with some micheladas. Bland, dried tacos had to ask for consome, the menudo tasted like it was the canned kind. I had to go look for the waitress, she was in the back chit chatting with the cook. We stopped by on our way back to Las Vegas, and we were not disappointed. This family-owned business truly provides great value. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, albeit small, but very pleasant. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent; I enjoyed a cheese and jalapeño tamale as well as a pork tamale, both of which were among the best I've had. The rice and beans were flavorful without being heavy. My son was pleased with the carne asada tacos, and my husband enjoyed the taquitos as well. You can certainly taste the care that goes into the food. Came here earlier today and decided to get a wet burrito. I asked if they can do 1/2 carne asada and 1/2 al pastor the lady said that yes they were able to. I go to pay and noticed that my burrito said 1/2 carne asada and 1/2 buche which is more expensive than al pastor by the way. I mentioned something to the lady and she said that she can't change it on her end but that she knew I exactly what I wanted, which was Al pastor. I didn't budge. I took it to go and to my surprise something tasted off in the burrito! Tasted like something old! Of course I investigated and noticed that her cute little note must have thrown off the chef even though it was just her and another lady but that she told me she knew exactly what I wanted and confirmed with me how many times?? She put buche instead of al pastor and it wasn't good at all! Neither was the burrito itself. I've been having bad stomach aches since then which reminded me to make this review anyway and to make sure that people avoid this restaurant. Fast and friendly service. Authentic food. Very tasty and filling. I had a three enchilada combo plate. It included a drink, cost me the same as what I normally spend at Taco Bell, but I ate much better. I would highly recommend this restaurant. There are a few booths and a bar to sit at. Just got food from here to-go .. let me start off with saying the customer service is great!! But unfortunately the food was subpar ... I ordered taquitos ($8.55) which consisted of 3 little taquitos that were bland and tiny .. looked like they use the tortillas for street tacos .. served with lettuce, tomatoes & a lil sour cream ... We, initially, were looking for Taco Bell (on our way back from Vegas). When we found the Taco Bell, We noticed a REAL Mexican food Restaurant sitting along side Taco Bell so we decided to get the REAL thing. It wasn't a place like Los Arcos or El Fandango. As a matter of fact, it may be too raunchy looking for some folks but we didn't regret it one bit. First, let me tell you! I DON'T GIVE BAD REVIEWS (as a rule) as any enterprise won't stay in business if it really sucks. We (my wife and I), concentrate on the thing we are there to buy- in this case, Mexican food. But if upon entering, we see that the physical plant is dirty, messy etc., there is no need to go any further. The young Lady behind the counter was very cordial and nice. We placed our picks: My wife ordered the Three Taco de Carne Asada Combination. I was a'hankerin for Menudo and although it was Wednesday- they had some. Found out they have it every day. Nice! It didn't take long to get served. My wife was pleasantly surprised. Her tacos were nice and hot, accompanied by the perennial Refried Beans and Mexican Rice. She was disappointed, though, that she got only three pieces of chips (on her beans). We weren't served chips on the side. But they do have a refrigerated table with Red, green salsas and guacamole, and other items. My Menudo came with the flour tortillas I requested. It was piping hot and very delicious. We also had drinks and all for under $20. Los Jalapenos is located on Palmdale Road about 1/2 a mile before you hit HWY-I15. read more

I used to come here regularly as I work in the same plaza. It was amazing 10 years ago but a visit last week was NOT a blast from the past. I went to order and was greeted in spanish. I responded and continued to order in spanish. The woman behind the counter was nice, and everything was fine until I slipped out of spanish and back into English. Mid order it seemed suddenly was in a hurry. Unfortunately I was ordering for 6, and tried to keep it simple because I take orders behind a counter all day myself. I stepped away to the condiment bar to find no cups/baggies so I asked for a baggie and she almost threw them at me. I was given 1 baggie and 4 cups, despite purchasing $30 worth of food. Someone else's order was delivered and and she was sweet but when going over my order she rushed through it again, not even making sure I had everything. I get to work, start hanging out everyone's food and realize 1- I was missing someone else's taco and one of mine. I ended up having to go back because they forgot 2. When I went in and said you missed something she argued with me. I asked if she rang me up for my specific item and she says yes... but I never got it. So she made it. I went back to evaluate an order for 6 people and realized I was still missing stuff but this time was NOT going back a 2nd time so I took the loss. I apologized to my coworker and she said don't trip as it's a regular occurrence, followed by If you don't speak spanish they're rude and always in a mad rush despite no crowd. I'm kinda bummed cause I loved this place. Makes me think Los Roberto's isn't that bad of a drive despite being further away. read more

The service is still fantastic, the Aunties in the kitchen are still there friendly as ever. But, the quality has fallen significantly. I really enjoyed this place. Yes the dining area is small, but it's a small establishment. I been here twice, once was take out and today was dine in. Both times the place was clean and well kept. The lady's are very nice. First time I ordered tacos and my husband ordered the chili verde plate. Both were very good. Today I ordered the chile reano plate and my husband ordered a burrito. I went here once before about a year ago and it was actually pretty good. Just went the other day and waited forever for one of the two ladies to come up to the counter to take my order. As I'm placing my order I see a plate of beans and rice coming out of a microwave.........yuk! My tacos came out ok and for .99 not bad. I could tell they were microwaved too from the 3 hot spots underneath the tacos. We went here for the very first time the other weekend. The people were awesome, very helpful but the food was kind of bland. All the Mexican places we went to before always served guacamole with their taquitos, so we were surprised when we got home to find it missing. As we looked over the menu we brought home, we were surprised to see it at an extra charge. We will give this place another shot, in hopes that the food is better the second time around. This is another one of those hole in the wall places that we usually enjoy. The prices are a bit above average for the area but comparied to anywhere else still fair. The girls working are nice and for the fact that they take and make the orders it was still pretty fast. Nice salsa bar though all of them were too spicy for me. I asked for medium, mild or pico but she said they don't have any, though alot of people ask for it. Well, that might be reason enough to make one don't ya think? I got the fish tacos, very good fish, prepaired perfectly. The taco salad and rice and beans, it was all pretty good, just a bit more than I wanted to spend and bland without salsa that I liked. My husband had a al pastor burrito, the meat was very good but not as big a portion as you get at other places. My son had a quesadilla which was also a bit lacking.
