Quesadilla and plantains

Food was fabulous, Service was outstanding..Enjoyed the outside patio vibe. One of my faves in a foodie town.

Brand new back deck with lots of shade!

For authentic, unique Mexican food with great ambiance, brand new spacious back deck for outdoor seating, and super friendly staff, Don Jockeys is the place to go!

First time here and we had a wonderful dining experience. The decor blends Mexican roots with Kentucky horse racing. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. And the food? It's not your typical Mexican restaurant. The entrees were delicious and nicely plated.

This place was Midway's 1st Authetic Mexican restruant, situated by the local rail road. You mush try the handcut 12 ounce Black Angue Ribeye. It is grilled to preferect and was served over carmaelized onoins and poblano peppers and topped off with Don Jockey's signature house made chimichurris sauces. It is served with tortillas and side, I got the Charro Beans. My wife had the Burrito del mar, which is Grilled Grouper, black beans, cabbage, pico de galls all wraped up in a hot flour tortialls and covered with house white wine sauce, with fresh sauteed shrimp and cilantoro. You may want to try the Midway Burrito, and the salas is some of the best around Kentucky. Chips and salsa are included without us having to ask for them. They offer a wide selection of cold draft beer. Very friendy service with some classics and some very creative menu items as well. It is some times quite noisy inside, we will try outside the next time. The best margaritas the desserts are out of this world as well. Don Jockey NEVER disappoints! it is worth the drive.

Excellent food! Right downtown, so it's pretty easy to find. The queso fundido is delicious! Our server was great, and everyone was very polite. We didn't get a chance to try the mango margaritas this time, but we'll definitely be back!

Pasta Poblano with added blackened chicken.

Had lunch with a friend today and it was both of our first time checking out Don Jockey. Our server, Becca, suggested the Pasta Poblano with blackened chicken, and so we both ordered. Delicious. Positively delicious. I did not see this dish on Yelp's menu here. Shout out to Becca for being wonderful!

This is not your average hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint. Full bar and upscale menu make this place special. The decor is more modern than most Mexican places, too, with abstract paintings and rustic lighting. My Quesadilla Jalisco arrived at the table on a sizzling platter, decorated with fresh salsa, sour cream and guacamole. I ate every bite. The hubs, who ordered a burrito, WISHED he ordered mine. We actually stopped in there about 11:30 a.m., hoping for huevos rancheros, but I didn't leave disappointed. We didn't drink, but the cocktail menu and tequila selection looked bomb. FYI, the menu says they'll charge you for the chips and salsa.

Smallest taco I have ever been served!

Some ppl On the sidewalk said try this place I ask about the tacos. What size I would be embarrassed to serve this to anyone I have never seen taco so small Little pieces of steak Fool me once. Won't be back

We popped in here after riding the rail cars in Versailes. Everything was fresh and delicious. Juan always has everything top notch. Street corn and tacos are fire

We went for brunch this weekend. First time here and we both got the specials. I got the omelet…read morewith goat cheese and red onion. Husband had the bread pudding French toast. We also had coffees (regular drip for me and an iced latte for him). And I also tried the key lime gimlet. It's made with Castle & Key gin which is a favorite of mine. Ambience was very nice and the food was delicious. I asked for a side of bacon. I am very particular about my bacon and it came out cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt. Service was fantastic and pleasant. The only criticism I had is that the red onion in my omelet was bitter. But no one's fault, sometimes onions are very astringent. Everything else was delicious and well made. Oh and we got the house made cinnamon roll for the table. This was delicious. So buttery and gooey with cinnamon. We will be back, maybe for dinner to try their dinner menu!

Char on Ashland is a must-visit in Lexington! We tried five items and here's the honest breakdown:…read more The Cinnamon Bun is a 10/10 -- hands down the star of the visit. It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! Overall a great spot with a lot of potential -- the pastry alone is worth the trip. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

After my previous bad experience at Thirsty Fox (reviewed separately), I was looking for a vibe…read moreshift. Ona provided it! A foosball table, a backgammon set, deep wood colors and an art deco vibe. This dark, moody little bar had a friendly bartender and unusual drinks. I had the "I Go Where I'm Led," made with kimchi infused vodka, gin, dolin dry, and celery salt. It did indeed taste like kimchi and was certainly weird. I also had the "Need 3," made with prosciutto basil infused gin sotol, amaro obscuro, bitters, and soda. Also a savory, bizarre drink that I'm glad I tried, but wouldn't get again. They have more conventional cocktails as well, like the Paper Plane, Naked and Famous, Corpse Reviver #2. They have IPAs and plain Miller Lites. They have basic red, white, and sparkling wine. Prices range from 8-13 dollars.

They served others who entered the bar after us, doing shots with them. The bartenders were very rude, online it says they close at 2, one of the bartenders yelled, "It's time to get the fuck out" at 1:10, right after they had finally served us. All the workers were clearly intoxicated/on drugs, and were dancing to static playing on the speakers. I was hoping for a better experience, instead I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome.
