Google wouldn't let me put a second review. The food is amazing, the service is amazing, all of the staff during all shifts are friendly, kind and helpful. The only frustration I have is when I place a mobile order for pickup. I write very clear and detailed instructions on the note section and this is the second time in a row the instructions were not read or understood. We spend a lot of money every time we order. Now we live too far to drive back. I trusted to not have to double check my order before leaving, that was my fault. read more

This is a nice & clean restaurant. However, the food could have been better and our waitress could have of actually tried. I've received better service waiting in the to-go parking spot at most places. My wife's cheese wasn't even melted in her enchiladas. My street tacos would have tasted much better if I had the option to even ask for some salsa instead of the bland watered down stuff that came with the chips. She dropped our food off and was never to be seen again until she dropped the check off and walked away (which we didn't even ask for). We were both very polite while being seated and ordering. I've only ever ordered the Barrea tacos for delivery. Everything always SLAPS. They give you rice & beans and a bag of tortilla chips AND a bunch of salsa with the delivery. Amazing. You need to get it. 11/10. read more

I came on Sunday not knowing what to expect. I was just wanting some steak. They offer lunch specials all week which was very nice, I enjoyed a steak fajita lunch. It was so yummy and hit the spot. They did not skimp on the meat and the sides and rice tasted so fresh. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and very well decorated. Went around noon on a Monday. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. Service was awful. Server dropped food and came back 30 mins later and dropped check. They never asked how our food was or if we needed anything. Food was incorrect. My cheese enchilada was cold (not melted at all). We also would have liked some sauce options-but no one came to check on us after receiving our food. Do better, please. read more

I got two chile rellanos and they were the best I have ever had because the actual peppers were hot/spicy. Usually these are somewhat bland but I love them but this was the best. This is definitely better than your comparable Mexican reactants (more Americanized). The chips were actually fresh (not my experience other places)!!! They seemed house made actually due to the thickness of the chips and their being a similar thickness and flavor to their tortillas... I wonder if both are made in house. The 3 taco plate was delicious & I had chorizo. Flavourful and filling. The burrito was also flavorful and filling. I enjoyed that they served multiple salsa types. Fast friendly service at El Jefe. I add a strong emphasis on chips and salsa for any Mexican restaurant rating. The salsa here is a bit sweeter and chunkier than I personally prefer but was still pretty good. We had chimichangas, chori queso appetizer, and the super burrito and all were good. This is your standard Mexican food so if that what you are looking for it's worth a visit. read more

Everything about this place is amazing! My fiancé and I stopped to today for a late spontaneous lunch date and we couldn't have been more pleased. This is a newer restaurant and I so wanted to love it but I just did not. I went in and ordered takeout so this review is for that and not a dining in experience. The customer service was good, when the person taking my order was actually taking my order but they prioritize diners so every time someone entered they stopped interacting with me and went and sat the customer. It was a bit weird but it wasn't the worst. They had multiple people at the front so I didn't really understand this. I was patient with them however and confident my food was gonna be good. The guacamole appetizer was a joke. It tasted okay but they give you less than a 4oz cup for $6 which is crazy to me. It's like half an avocado. The taste was alright, nothing special it was not terrible like some other places. The pollo fundido was delicious. Some pieces of chicken were dry but most of it was very tasty. The rice was good. The refried beans were very salty and chunky as well. Not very good. We also had a burrito, my husband didn't really like it. The meat was chewy and he said it wasn't worth it. Overall I give them a 3. I would eat the fundido again but we won't be returning. I wish them luck in their endeavors. read more

El jefe is always accommodating and consistent. The food is good and not too expensive. The people are lovely. My only complaint is the margaritas are super sugary mixes rather than refreshing. That said, they come with fun embellishments and will get the job done if you're just needing the tequila. read more
