I had done business with Don Lollar Plumbing for many years. In years past, they did an excellent job. The employee plumbers, Albino and Manny were excellent. Unfortunately, the company was sold to Valley Plumbing. I would discourage anyone from doing business with them. I called to have my waste-line snaked out. The plumber came and snaked the line (supposedly) but was mostly interested in trying to sell me additional repairs. That was a bit annoying, but okay. Because he was more interested in sales than doing the job, he failed to replace the cap on the clean-out under the house. Days later I discovered the line was still clogged and waste water (toilet and other) was flowing beneath the house. You can imagine the stench and mess. I contacted another business to fix it. It is sad to see a once fine business destroyed by greed and incompetence. read more

I had a client use Don Lollar Plumbing in the past so when I had a clogged toilet and tub I called them to remove the clog. From what they tell me they were sold to Valley Plumbing. At every turn they tried to up sell me. They told me lies that the cleanout I had installed a couple of years ago was a one way clean out so they had to remove the toilet to snake it. $950 later they hadnt cleared the whole clog and they wanted to sell me so much more to get it flowing. I told them stop I was not going to have them up sale me again. They left my bathroom a complete disaster, they had flug stuff all over the walls, ceiling and floor and did not clean it up. Called another plumber and they got the clog cleared. I did decide to do some other corrective work and Bowman Plumbing cost me 1/2 of what Don Lollar was trying to up sale me for. Horribly disappointed that Don decided to merge with Valley Plumbing. I've used this plumber loyally since buying my home 7 years ago but I never will again. I've always found them reliable and a good value, but that's no longer the case. They came out and quoted me $488 to install a new kitchen faucet (I supplied the new faucet). This would have been no more than $150 a year ago but now under this new company it's more than triple that price. The best part? There's a $68 service fee to come out and tell you that absurd quote. I'm so sorry burbank has lost a great business, they should change their name since it's no longer the service we all knew and trusted. read more

MONEY! MONEY! MONEY! That is what Lolar is all about so THIS IS NOT THE PLUMBER YOU WANT. They have daily monetary goals and they only look to increase the scope/cost of the job. The plumber even told me they have more guys working in the desert than they do in this area yet they make almost as much $ as the crews in the desert. Right after I meet him the plumber tells me it's going to be hundreds of dollars just to diagnose the problem(s). I said, "on the phone they said it was $68." He laughed and said no, that's just the dispatch fee. No, on the phone they said it was to evaluate the situation and then provide options. (Note: I never signed anything beforehand so neither I nor anyone else are actually obligated to pay this $68 if you reject their proposed plan of action -- you can just kick them off your property; they know it's a phony scheme.) I mentioned an unrelated job to the plumber and he knew right away how much it would be which was over $1100 (nearly 40%) more than what not one, but two other plumbers told me the cost is. The guy was friendly (and he cleaned up well which is great) but the cordial interaction is just to aid in getting you to accept rising prices throughout the day -- they want you to be happy to pay them so much! He even tried to tell me he betrayed his boss by charging me less than what they said to charge me. He intimated that he should have made $1200 more for the day's work as this higher amount is what he makes everyday regardless of whatever the job is. I told him what I paid was a lot of money given the job. So if I was aware of the strategy and con game from the start, why did I use them? Because -- as they well know and are counting on -- the homeowner really wants to get their problem solved. I only resorted to calling them in the first place because the plumber I wanted to use was on vacation so I wanted to get this over with and not spend additional time looking for another plumber. read more

Be aware that Don merged with or sold to Valley Plumbing a while back. I've used them for years and last time they sent an entirely different group of guys. The work they did was fine but the labor price was at least 2 and 1/2 times higher than they had been 6 months earlier. Sorry to see them go corporate , its happening more and more. Our main line was clogged and it was on a holiday. Don showed up as promised and performed the standard process using his snake. Within 30 minutes, drain was cleared. Pricing was a little steep but we can flush our toilets! Don was very knowledgeable and pleasant! Definitely call him again with plumbing issue. read more

We had an emergency in the evening -- a broken water heater and lots of kids who needed baths for school in the morning. Because it was after 6pm, our usual plumber didn't pick up the phone, so we called our electrician and he recommended that we call Don Lollar Plumbing. It was after hours, but surprisingly someone answered! She asked me if this was an emergency call and I said yes, (thinking in the back of my mind this is probably going to cost me plenty), but I didn't have a choice -- I needed the water heater fixed and after all, this guy was recommended, so I was willing to take a chance. The lady on the phone said she'd have someone call me back. I waited about 20 minutes and sure enough, a man named Manny called back and asked me a few questions about the water heater, and said he'd be over within the next 45 minutes. Within a half hour, Manny was at our door and ready to get to work. It turned out the thermocouple was bad and the vent pipe was crushed up above. It was an old water heater and I told him we were on a budget, yet I was sure he was going to say everything needed to be replaced, especially in light of the corrosion that Manny pointed out to me on the top of this old beast of a water heater. Yikes! Corrosion? And it's leaking a little on top? Lollar Plumbing aren't going to fix this, I kept saying to myself, I know they're going to try to sell me a new water heater.... But I was wrong. Manny dug through his van and he found the correct thermocouple, retrieved his silvered tape, and began to remold the smashed vent pipe above. In about 20 minutes Manny had the vent pipe back in shape, the water heater working again and much to the kids disappointment, so to were the inevitable hot baths. I just can't say enough good things about Manny and Don Lollar Plumbing. They were really great -- professional, courteous, prompt, and here's the best part: I got all of this done for less than my usual plumber charges per hour. Oops! There's my old plumber on the telephone. Oh, gee! He's nice guy too, and I love him soooo much, but unfortunately I'm not made of money, and it's time to break the news to him that Don Lollar Plumbing is our new go-to guy. Stay away. Actually, run away from Don Lollar. Don Lollar used to be a stand alone plumber, his company has now merged with a larger company and it is a mess. My water heater failed after 12.5 years. I called Lollar after getting a reference from my regular plumber, who as it turns out did not know about the merger. My 25-year usual plumber is extremely ill with a life threatening illness so he could not do the job. I called Lollar with an emergency request, no one returned my call. I called again about an hour or so later, this time after hours and the answering service connected me to the "on call technician." Even though I had no hot water and the weather was very cold, the on call technician said someone would be at my house the next morning to "assess" the situation, then sometime in the afternoon someone would install the water heater. That means I would have be at the house the whole day for a water heater. The assessment call alone would cost me $68. The next morning after no one called me or showed up at my house I called Lollar. The person who answered the phone told me the on call technician should not have promised me what he did and he would not honor the promise made to me the day before even though I expressly requested that he honor the promise. I was told by this second person someone would be at my house late in the afternoon to assess the water heater, but installation would not be that day, with no promised installation date. I asked how much within a range it would cost, he refused to give me a range even though other plumbers I was now frantically calling gave me a range on the phone. Finally, the person on the phone said he would ask Lollar for a range. He called me back about an hour later. He said he spoke to Lollar and Lollar said he would do the job for $3,000, which was thousands of dollars more than my other estimates. If I could give Lollar zero stars or negative stars I would. The plumber that actually installed my water heater was at my house within one hour of my call. As the plumber was draining my old water heater, the new heater was delivered by his wholesaler. From the time the plumber arrived until he left was a little more than two hours. When all was said and done I told my regular plumber what happened; he was appalled. My regular plumber said he was referred about one client per week to Lollar, but no more. Lloar will get no more referals from my reguar plumber, zero, zip. read more

so sad to write this review for a once wonderful company-apparently Don Lollar has merged with Valley Plumbing and the customer service is horrendous. Don Lollar , techs, and staff prior to the merge were honest, reliable, offered great customer service and price. Last Saturday I called them 5 times within 24 hours for an urgent request for a tenant's backed up toilet and shower. Each time their dispatch apologized for me not getting a call back , said they would mark my request urgent, and someone would call me back within an hour. I didn't receive a call until the following Wednesday! Obviously by that point I moved on to a responsive company and will never use "Don Lollar" again. I wish Don Lollar's name, service, and stellar reputation were not tarnished by Valley Plumbing-beware to past Don Lollar customers-this is not the amazing company we were so lucky to depend on in the past-Valley Plumbing should not have the privilege of using Don Lollar's company name as Don Lollar and staff would never ignore and disregard their customers like Valley Plumbing does now. read more

Wonderful service! The receptionist was pleasant when we called in to schedule an appointment. Our garbage disposal went out. Manny arrived within the estimated window of time (8am-12pm). There was no issue with Manny installing the one we purchased (identical to the busted one), and he didn't try to upsell us on anything. Easy peasy in-and-out in about 30 minutes. Manny brought in his tools (he didn't have to go out to the truck for anything), made eye contact, chirped at our cat, and got to work. Very professional. $95 well worth it. I used Don Lollar Plumbing for the first time today and am happy I think I finally found a good plumber! When I called on a Monday the woman who answered the phone was polite and courteous. (Often you call a plumber and get voice mail, or get put on hold forever.) My problems were a backed up bathroom sink and sprinkler issues. I was told a plumber could arrive on Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 12 pm., and that I could call for a narrower time window on Tuesday morning. At 8:25 a.m. Tuesday I received a call to say Manny would arrive shortly. Manny was also very polite and courteous, brought in a thick pad to use when snaking out the sink, leaving no mess at all. He was very helpful with the sprinkler questions and gave me some good information about another issue we may have fixed soon. I would definitely recommend giving this plumbing company a try, I will be calling them again. P.S. We had a fabulous experience with Don Lollar. The handles on a good quality 10 yr old bathroom sink wall faucet started coming loose. Other plumbers couldn't figure out how to repair- but Don did. It took his experience and creativity to figure out how to get these weirdly made handles off the wall, take them apart, and put them back together. Just for the price of service call time. I gave them a shot based on other Yelp reviews. Was a very good experience. I had a pressure regulator on a natural gas line that needed replaced and it turned out the nipple was rotted out. The plumber suggested replacing it, and now I have a good functioning BBQ grill again. Due to the gas being shut he went to the water heater and furnace to get them running again.Replaced a faucet and angle stop in the bathroom. Excellent service. Woke up to a front yard full of sewage on Friday. Thought it was the apocalypse. Fortunately, amongst the mess I found that a clean-out cover had popped off (if it hadn't I'd have a HOUSE full of sewage) so I knew it was some kind of clog. Called Don Lollar Plumbing and the woman who answered the phone quickly calmed me down and explained that yes, it was most likely a simple clog. CUT TO: A couple hours later. Manny arrives, snakes my sewer line and all was right with the world again. He did mention that there was some heavy root intrusion, which he cleared up for now, but gave me various scenarios on how alleviate the problem more permanently. After waisting my time with a couple of other plumbers, I decided to post on social media asking if anyone knew of a good plumber in the area. Several friends referred me to Don Lollar Plumbing and I have not used another plumber since. Prices are reasonable and work is top notch. Before using Lollar, I called the guys that "smell good" to fix a pinhole leak in an outdoor water faucet pipe and replace a bad sprinkler valve. They pulled out their book and started adding things and quoted me a ridiculous amount. Told me I would need to replace the pipe all the way to the street with copper pipe. They then told me if I paid a $75 fee, they would give me "discounted"pricing for a year. The quote with the discount was still ridiculous. I paid them their non refundable $80 service fee for quoting me and told them to get lost. Don Loller came out the same day and not only fixed the leaking pipe and sprinkler valve, but also installed a new shutoff valve and pressure regulator all for 1/3 the quoted price of the other guy. I have been using Lollar plumbing ever since and have even had him out on a major holiday when our water heater gave out. read more

I called Don Lollar based on recommendations from neighbors on Nextdoor.com. I received a quote and did all my communicating and appointment scheduling via email on Yelp, which was very convenient. I called around for 3 quotes (from other 5 star reviewed companies) and theirs was the least costly. I received a call that the plumber was on his way and Manny arrived 15 minutes later. He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. He got right to work and left no mess. He worked a shade over 2 hours, but charged just for 2 instead of rounding up to the next half hour (which has happened to me on more than one occasion by other companies). These guys are honest and excellent, just as my neighbors and other Yelpers have stated. They deserve your business! read more
