I've had Mike help me out with 3 or 4 different plumbing problems. One of them was a HUGE issue and I had a hard time with other plumbing companies, but when I called Mike, he and his colleagues came right away, gave me an estimate, came back the next day and fixed things up nicely. I got Mike's name a number from a good friend who had a good experience with these guys and she owned a whole apartment building. Just a week and a half ago, I called Mike about a leak I'd had for a long time. I'd had it for a while because other plumbers said it would be complicated or that they didn't do leaks behind walls etc. Mike came over to look at it a couple of hours after I called him. Then he brought a colleague the next day, found the leak, fixed the leak, and so far it's all good and no more leak. I love how quickly he comes, and how straight forward and easy to deal with he is. I've met his colleagues, and they're all really nice and hard working, too. When you have a plumbing issue, finding someone fast and reliable is key. He called to check in with me after a week to make sure I was happy with the job, too. That's an extra nice touch. As I mentioned, I've had him help me with about 4 jobs over the past 3 or 4 years and they've all been successful and fast. I'm not much of a reviewer but I'd be remiss if I don't in this case. We had a Y connection clog up on us for a double sink in the master bathroom. Called a different company only to come out and tell me they can't unclog that unless they either go on the roof, which is prohibited apparently or break down the walls and put in a "wash". I've worked with Mike (Ace of Drains) on 3 separate occasions with a 4th event in the works. The first time I called him, I was trying to find a plumber that could work on a large project for our HOA. We've had a constant issue with storm water/common area drainage in our building where someone redirected a series of gutters into a single 2-inch floor drain and it would constantly get blocked. I would need to be out in the pouring rain sweeping water onto the lawn to make sure that owner's homes wouldn't flood. As a volunteer for the association I couldn't find a plumber that could take on the fix for the project which needed to include coring a new pipe for the gutter as well as doing the actual plumbing work to expand the capacity in the garage. Typically we could only get people willing to work on the plumbing but they didn't know anyone to do the coring and the coring companies that we've had come out were very flaky. They would come out, give us an estimate and then they wouldn't respond to calls after we approve the estimate. I was really looking for a plumber that could take on the whole project so we could just pay one person and he would take care of finding the proper contractors to get it done. On a whim, I saw Mike's van driving around Burbank and I called him and asked him to come by to give us an estimate on the project. He was there the following day. Put together a plan, coordinated a meeting with a coring company who took care of the X-Ray to make sure the drilling would go off without a hitch. He took care of all of the plumbing and coordinated anything he couldn't handle with his contractors and made it a turnkey project. Even though things came up that likely took longer than he was originally planning (roots in a drain), he handled it honorably and stuck to his original estimate. But, he isn't just a "big project" plumber. He also came to the rescue of one of our neighbors who had a drainage issue that was causing problems as well as us personally when our water heater stopped doing its job. This week Mike is going to be replacing our 18 year old 40 gallon tank water heater with a brand new and efficient tankless water heater and we are going to get some much needed closet space back when that 40 gallon behemoth is gone. He will be there when he says he will, he will give you a fair estimate, and stick to it. If something goes wrong after a job, he will always be there to make it right.
