Start with a rich Cuban coffee (or café con leche or Cortadito). And then indulge in a pastelito (my favorites are cheeses and guava and cheese), or if you want something more hearty, try an empanada (ham and cheese my favorite). For lunch most people seem to like the Cubanor Steak sandwiches, but I prefer the Midnight sandwich. Overall, the ambiance is casual and the staff is very friendly. Love the low playing Cuban music and the painted murals of dominoes with Cuban people playing bongos and guitars on the main wall. The ambiance provides a quick flash view of the Cuban culture. Both of the employees were talkative and diligent. The Cuban pork & ham sandwich was super fresh and warm. It was huge and well priced at $11.69 so shared it with my wife. The Coffee was strong with a creamy texture. The gender assigned bathroom decor flowed from the dining room. Nothing fancy, just withered floor tiles (maybe from wear) and pre-fab white walls with a detailed woodlike relic wall shield. Cool room but not a fan of the roll of toilet paper on the wood cabinet. The dominoes, ring toss and tic tac toe games were a fun additions to the tables. Excellent sandwiches and coffee with decent parking.

We arrived at 12:30 and there were some diners enjoying their meals outside. We sat inside and it was not busy at all. Service was pleasant and efficient. They have a separate lunch menu. I ordered the lunch burrito with rice and refried beans, $11.95. The serving size was large. The decor is nice with nice Mexican touches and the interior is well maintained and clean. The menu says they are family owned and have been in business since 1993, 33 years is something to be proud of. El Mariachi is a good choice for a decent meal.

The location is at the corner of a plaza, and there's always plenty of parking available, which is super convenient. The place wasn't busy, so we were quickly seated and greeted. Our waiter, Luis, was attentive and friendly. I ordered my favorite mango margarita, and it was good per usual. This is not my first time here. I noticed they introduced birria tacos to the menu, so I gave them a try. They were good, served with rice and refried beans. The complimentary chips and salsa were also fresh and flavorful. Definitely ask for some picante for that extra kick! One of my friends ordered the loaded nachos, and they looked and tasted yummy. Im always tempted to order it, but I never do because I ALWAYS see something else that I want. Overall, the experience was good. The only downside was the bill. The birria tacos were priced at $25, which felt a bit high for just three tacos, especially since the menu didn't show the price. Still, the food and vibe make me want to come back.

The food also came out really quickly, so I truly don't think the issue was the kitchen or how busy the restaurant was. The food was incredible -- truly the highlight of the entire experience. Everything I ordered was packed with flavor, and the margarita was incredible as well. The ambiance was also great and made for a really enjoyable atmosphere. I would've loved to finish with some flan, but my server never came back. I ended up having to ask another server for extra onions and even had to ask them for my check. It was disappointing because the food was so amazing and the experience had the potential to be perfect. I also can't really speak on whether it's "authentic" Cuban food or not, and I'm not sure why that's the main thing people focus on -- what I can say is that the food was absolutely delicious. The flavors were on point, and I'd definitely come back hoping for a more attentive service experience next time.
