It also says a lot when someone has worked there for years and years. It says without words that employee retention is a reflection of the company itself (management and owners). I definitely highly recommend this environment for those who enjoy a lively place as there is a fun and unique way in which they honor birthdays (a great spot for these celebrations), every guest is given a wooden mallet (hammer) to break the crab shells, however, when they announce a birthday wish over the speakers throughout the array of dining room options (one being a large barge on the canal), EVERYONE bangs their mallets on the tables which creates a cacophony of sound! I had the crab stuffed shrimp which were good but not great. The ratios were off as the shrimp were medium sized at best butterflied with a heaping mound of stuffing. If the shrimp were actually large or jumbo shrimp this ratio would be correct and the flavors would complement each other better. My beautiful date had the skippers platter which came with a strip steak and stuffed shrimp. She had the same opinion about the shrimp and the steak was cooked properly to her liking but it lacked seasoning of any type. I just had a bland beef flavor. Again, not bad, but certainly not what we had expected. Our server, Gemma did a good job taking care of us. There seemed to be a lot of folks there eating crab so perhaps they are more crab centric and that may be what shines there and what they developed their reputation on.

I find it concerning that no effort was made to accommodate a reasonable request or even ask about the severity of the allergy. In today's restaurant industry, flexibility and customer care are important. Unfortunately, I found the service to be very unaccommodating, and given the high prices, I expected much better.
