Very disappointing! Went to Don Ninos for desert. After waiting inside for a while(2 employees behind the counter never acknowledged us). After about 5 minutes one of the girls asked if we wanted to dine in or take out. We said dine in, she said grab a seat outside and someone will be with you, so we did. Oh my word!! The cannoli here is awesome!! You can choose between pistachio creme or ricotta or even do a combo of both, entirely up to you, then you can top it with pistachios, peanuts, or chocolate chips. The possibilities are endless!! I had ricotta with pistachio and chocolate chips and I felt like a lion pouncing on a kill, sooooooo goood!!!! If that wasn't enough, I also got a rocher dessert (limited time only) and it tasted just like a Ferrero Rocher candy. The staff is extremely friendly and everything tastes so fresh! My sweet tooth has been satisfied and if I wasn't fearing a sugar coma coming on, I would have gotten gelato as well. It's a perfect treat after climbing the stairs of the bell tower and Duomo! My first gelato in the city! They have a great range of flavors and they all come topped with a chocolate dipped wafer (delicious). After many samples I went with the sour cherry and hazelnut flavors. It sounds like a strange combo, but it really worked. The flavors are bold and the texture is creamy with that tiny bit of stretch that's so welcome in a gelato. Luckily, or unfortunately for my waist, I live right across the block so I will 100% be back. read more

After tasting the best gelato in Rome (Giolitti) this place didn't compare. We came here on a rainy night and wanted our gelato to-go and the staff was nice about creating make shift takeout containers for us. The lids didn't really fit but it did the job. I asked for hazelnut and vanilla and what I was served was definitely not vanilla. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't vanilla! Also- I agree from the other reviews that this place is overpriced. The gelato here is overpriced. Should have known it was a tourist spot because of location but wanted to get some gelato before leaving Florence. The Nutella flavor was good. I was supposed to have a scoop of tiramisu as well, but I think they scooped mint or something and it wasn't good. The pistachio was very savory. Macaroons were okay. The staff was nice. read more

Although it's in a convenient place next to the duomo and the gelato was creamy and indulgent, we had to pay 17 euro for two gelato cones. Places like gelataria del Neri and Eduoardo if you're looking for a gelato place near the duomo are soooooo good. And both cost about 5-7 euros for 2 people whereas Don Nino is clearly trying to rip off unsuspecting tourists and overcharging. Not cool. read more

The gelato here is quite tasty. The texture was creamy and they had a good variety of toppings. Your gelato is topped with whipped cream, a chocolate drizzle and a wafer cookie at no extra charge. The cannoli was also very good. They do have long lines at the gelato window so be prepared to wait a few minutes. The reason I gave a 4 star rating is because of the prices. Really, ten Euro for a medium gelato cone?! Overall this place is a good stop for gelato if you don't mind the prices. read more

This is a truly beautiful place with a kind and English speaking staff. It looks fabulous with lots of invention and sense for detail. This is clearly visible even from the cakes, sandwiches and other traits. It was raining so we took the closest place to the dome, and were so lucky - very good coffee, great cannoli as well as Ice Cream.
