This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant. I think I've tried almost everything on the menu by this point and I've had a lot of fun with ordering things I might never have tried. Everyone knows you can get a great burrito here, or tasty tacos, but the seafood plate, mariscadas, is my absolute favorite dish. It's a little bit of everything! Crab claws! Clams! Shrimp! Little bits of octopus and fish! All served with tortillas, beans and rice! It's the best! My other found favorite is their spicy sandwich, the torta ahogada. They told me this dish is a faithful reproduction of a classic torta from the state of Jalisco. The order was wrong and the only items that were eatable was the rice and beans (I ordered a salad, but got the rice and beans instead.) I used to love this place, I don't know what happened. The tamale was all masa and the carne asada in the enchilada was tough and no matter how much you chewed it , it wouldn't break down. Good food yet somehow dry. I think that is what did it in for everyones meal. The chicken, the pork, the asada? We went on a Friday night so that should be the most ideal time to go where they are awaiting the weekend crowd. I don't know. The beans were good, more like a chilli than just normal old beans. If I could deduct stars I would. Worst Mexican food I've ever had! I ordered it via Door Dash. At least Door Dash did it right by delivering it fast and hot. But that didn't make up for the horrible tastes. We ordered cheese enchilada and beef tamale with green sauce tamale and rice and beans. And 2 carne asada enchiladas with rice and beans. The red sauce was a watery tomato horrible tasting sauce. The beans were pasty. Rosarita canned refried beans are waaay better. The rice has no taste to it. The carne asada meat was bland tasting. We also ordered sopaillas and churros. I've never had sopaillas but what I received was fried flour tortillas tossed in cinnamon sugar. That and the churros were about the only things that were any good. But you can really go wrong with cinnamon sugar. I highly suggest you avoid eating here. read more

You have several staff members tending to you, each with an important task, and each of them carries a smile. When we came in today, we ordered the macho burrito and told them we wanted half asada and half shrimp. We finished our food and when we got the bill, we were charged extra for both asada and for shrimp. Our burrito was $33 total (for two) and we were charged an extra $8 for shrimp and $13 for steak. First, we were never told it would be extra. Second, they said they put extra in our burrito but it looked like a normal amount for a macho burrito. Third, they charged us extra for BOTH shrimp and asada which doesn't seem right because if we are already paying the $33 for a meat burrito, we should only be charged for the "extra" meat. Their response was that it's that price for any meat besides asada, so apparently if you want asada, you have to pay extra. However, this was not listed anywhere on the menu nor were we ever told this information. The other person we dined with who ordered a super burrito was only charged $1.12 for their asada. So that really didn't make sense to us. This was our second time here and this time we had a terrible experience. They didn't try to remedy the situation and only said that's how their system works and they will work on fixing the menu. With this type of service, we don't plan to eat here again. We paid more in "extra" meat than the cost of another macho burrito. read more

I dont know why this has a 3.5. This is probably the best Mexican restaurant in Rohnert Park and Petaluma area. I have tried them all! Customer service is great and food is very satisfying. For the area it's the best. We have been here at least 6 times. It's our go to Mexican place and it's been consistent. Green salsa is the way to go! No red salsa for us. Sadly, this restaurant puts all "to go/food delivery" orders in front of every other order from the dining room that comes into the kitchen, regardless of how long you are sitting and waiting. We waited over 40 minutes for our food while Door Dash and Petaluma Food Taxi drivers came and went, and came again, (Same drivers), all while we sat and waited for our food. The waitress did come by and see if we wanted more margaritas at $10 each, (awfully nice of her being that there's a $2 tip attached to each one). Maybe if we had ordered just water they might have wanted to get us served and out of their restaurant faster? The food is above average, the drinks are average, the service is lack luster. And why do you put salsa in little metal cups that look like shot glasses? Seriously? How are you suppose to get a chip in there? Called and spoke with the manager and was told the dining room orders get filled after the food delivery/to go orders. No offer for us to come in give them another chance and maybe comp our one drink each, nothing except that she was sorry, but that's their policy. $100 for dinner for 3, with one drink each. Don't think I'll go back, lots of other good Mexican food in the area. Don't go here if you don't have time to sit and wait. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Petaluma. I haven't had anything that I didn't like. I always get the pastor tacos and my wife usually gets the carnitas fajitas. This is also my sons favorite burger place (he's four) and now anytime we go to another place where they serve burgers he gets a little upset that he can't get an horchata with it. Family owned and you won't find nicer people. They know many of their patrons by name. We have been eating there for many years and they are consistent with the quality. Very flavorful and you can find some of the lesser known Mexican specialties like chicken in mole and sopes. I personally love the carnitas plate. read more

We tried DP for the first time to mix it up tonight, on 2/19. We typically go to Mi Pueblo or La Azteca. I have to say the woman that answered the phone was extremely kind and provided great customer service. Great first impression. The food was good - we order fairly standard things like super burritos, chimichangas for example. What I am taken a back by is the guacamole. When we ordered I noticed there was an order for $10, and then a side for half the price, $4.50. When we got our order, we seriously received what I would guesstimate as 4 tablespoons for $4.50. Picture attached. I'm sorry but this is a buzz kill. Why charge so much?? I tried to capture the size comparison to other items in our dinner. Other than that, all is okay. UPDATE: family consensus after dinner is that it was "okay", but not great. We likely will return to Mi Pueblo, but we certainly wish DP well. My husband and I really like this place. The food is delicious. Really authentic Mexican. I love the verde quesadillas! The only downfall is if you sit towards the back of the restaurant it gets busy with take out and you get a clear view of clean up (dirty dishes). Was looking for a quick bite. It was quick but inedible. I ordered food to go, and as soon as I walked in, I was hit by the intense smell of cleaning chemicals. This was off-putting, but I was thankful that my food was ready so I could leave the chemicals behind quickly. Unfortunately, the food had the distinct bitterness of soap and now we all have a terrible taste in our mouths that we cannot seem to get rid of. I just have to hope that this does not make us sick, but the food was expensive and inedible. Truly disappointing.
