We've been to other Don Pedro locations, but found this one nearby and stopped in for lunch on the weekend. The dine-in area smelled very clean (bleach/disinfectant) and was brightly lit. The staff were very friendly and smiled a lot - seemed like they enjoyed working there or at the least were all having a good day. We ordered lengua nachos, lengua taco, pastor taco, and tacos dorados (chicken taquitos). The amount of meat for all items was terrific; they really give lots!! We enjoyed all the salsas available on the salsa bar, but liked the green/avocado-based one the best. read more

So I didn't even know this was a Don Pedro location until last night. Last time I went in December, it was still Mama's Chicken and Seafood, which apparently had been going downhill anyway as they had begun to serve spoiled sides. While out doing errands, I decided to swing by the drive thru and pickup dinner. It appears nothing much has changed appearance-wise, since it had been Mama's. Same drive thru and general outlook - not sure if the old owners are still here or not. In any case, I stuck with what I usually get at the Norcross or Lilburn Don Pedros and that is the Taco Dorados (chicken taquitos with veggies and guac but no rice and beans) and the enchiladas plate. I meant to order the enchiladas Mexicanas as I prefer the cotija cheese, but I accidentally ordered the suizas. It's an okay plate at any location, but they never use mozzarella cheese as advertised. As many restaurants like this chain are cutting costs, they just seem to use your average blended shredded cheese mix which makes it taste like something you'd make at home and gets kind of "plasticky" and rubbery by the time you get home. That was my fault though. Next time, I'll get the Mexicanas like I usually do. The staff were friendly enough, even though I was not greeted immediately upon pulling up to the drive thru. Took my husband saying "hello" for them to respond after a minute or two, but this is understandable as the inside was fairly busy, and this is a newer location. The prices seemed about the same as the other locations. So far, the Norcross location is my favorite in terms of drive thru speed, quality, convenience of pulling in and out, accuracy, freshness, and flavor. When I got home I was disappointed to see that there was a whole bunch of sauce inside the bag from dripping wet steamed veggies that were just served in saran wrap loosely instead of some kind of small container, cup, or ziploc bag. I understand cutting costs, but it was really nasty looking presentation and sauce had gotten all in the bag. Makes you not want to eat them, and I didn't. None of the other locations serve like this. Another thing about veggies - the tomatoes on both plates were spoiled smelling. I didn't get sick, but I also couldn't eat them and threw them out. Seems like overall, some quality control needs to be established at this location, although it may take a while, I know. The chicken taquitos were decent but not very flavorful compared to the other locations. Not sure if this has to do with seasoning or marinade, but they weren't anything special - just mid. The rice on the enchilada plate was okay but kind of dry. El Indio and El Taco Veloz have moister rice than all the Don Pedros I've been to sadly. As expected, the enchiladas suizas were just okay. By the time I got home, that blended cheese surely went rubbery. That's why I normally get the one with cotija cheese, but that's my fault, again, on not paying attention. Overall, it was a decent meal. Always nice to get a break from cooking and to have food to eat, period, but seems like they have a long way to catch up to the Norcross location. Lilburn location is still second in my book as they've forgotten things lately. Have not tried the Cobb location yet. I will be back, but I think I'll give them some time to get their bearings. read more

What an amazing experience with Don Pedro Mexican Food--twice in one day! I ordered the carne asada fries and two bean & cheese burritos, and my daughter got a BRC burrito--everything was absolutely fantastic, 10/10! The food traveled home perfectly, with flavors that were still bursting and generous portions that impressed us. The quality was top-notch, and the service was quick and friendly both times we picked up. Highly recommend this place for delicious Mexican takeout. We'll definitely be back soon. I love the food here, we've never had a bad experience with the food quality or taste. My only issue with this restaurant is the people working at night. The manager sometimes seems to not like his customers and the cashiers be having an attitude while taking my order. I get people have bad days, and they're allowed to, but it seems to be like that every time we go. Overall, the food is great and it always comes out fast and I think that makes my trips here worth it. read more

Amazing, fresh food. I had nachos that could have easily fed two people. Pastor is amazing! Friendly staff, bright and friendly inside.

The food is delicious. I order the tacos 2-3x a week for lunch. It always arrives hot and flavorful.

So glad I got to try another great mexican food spot! The establishment kind of like looks like a fast food spot and there is a drive thru area but I decided to order my take out indoors since it was my first time at don Pedro. I was impressed by how clean the restaurant was. I ordered the steak nachos and a steak quesadilla. Both meals were fantastic. Portion sizes were huge and the service was great! I didn't have to wait too long to receive what I ordered and prices were reasonable. There are a lot of great Mexican spots in this particular area and Don Pedro is definitely one of those places. I will definitely be coming back to try new dishes! read more

One side of Guac is almost $4 and no chips come with it. Really? What Mexican restaurant doesn't give you chips and gives you a size in this fashion? I judge a place by their Guac and I won't be back. read more

I did not know this place even existed until last week. Pulling up, the place is unassuming, but it is a hidden gem. I've had the carne asada tacos, birria tacos and combi quesadilla with chicken. It has all been spectacular. Dare I say the best birria tacos I've tried. For freshly made food, even the drive thru is speedy. The staff is so courteous and patient with my lack of Spanish speaking. We will definitely be back, and maybe I'll be able to get a picture before I devour it. read more
