The service was excellent. We were greeted and welcomed with a smile. Water, chips and salsa appeared at our table almost immediately. Our server, Jesus, went through the menu with us and clarified anything we had questions about. Upon our request, Jesus made suggestions from spirits on the menu--and he was absolutely right. Food arrived COLD and when we pointed it out the manager became DEFENSIVE and DISMISSIVE. I have never in my life eaten COLD GROUND BEEF ON A TACO SALAD. but yet he GASLIGHTS us and says that how ALL meat comes on a salad. It was so COLD you could see the FAT on the meat. The burrito my friend got was COLD to the touch. The cheese dip was COLD. The only thing hot were literally the plates the food came on. How do you cook cold food? I needed my soup remade bc I didn't know it contained cilantro, it took over 12 minutes. I asked about the soup and he SNAPPED at me saying it was still in the MICROWAVE. Why would my soup need to be put in the microwave? The soup was MISSING the rice and it was barely warm. If the soup comes premade with cilantro say we can't fix it without it. Don't act like its a whole problem to take the pico out and then snap at me because I'm allergic to it. *The menu didn't say the soup contains pico.* I was there a week ago and the food and the woman that served us was delightful. This week it was beyond awful. I only came back bc she was so nice and accomodating. This manager was a bad word to us. Snarky, grouchy and not at all understanding our desire for hot food. We were very pleasant and DIDN'T ask for any refund or free food, but he acted like we were the WORST people to ever sit down in his establishment and point out how cold the food was. CAN'T say it was a RACIST thing because it was a mixed group. Maybe it was a SEXIST thing. I dunno. I had on a headwrap, maybe that bothered him. I visited on 3/25/2025 for the first time ever. I work in Tucker Ga so it's not far from work. I have been to the other location countless times. Upon entering the door there appears to be 2 sets of doors. A set of doors to the right of the entrance door. I was waiting for my bro to get off from work I got a 16 ounce michelob ultra from the beer tap to drink. I also asked for chips and salsa the chips actually seemed warm. I ordered a 10 piece lemon pepper wings they asked if I wanted them crispy so I tried the suggestion with blue cheese. There are just way better Mexican spots than this where they act like they're happy to see you and don't sling attitude. Horrible food!! And almost got food poisoning! I just had dinner at this place tonight. Everything was disappointing. I ordered three fish tacos with rice and fried plantain. As soon as the fish taco was delivered to my table, you could smell that the fish spoiled. I brought it to the waiters attention and they said that nothing was wrong with the fish, and that it was just grilled. I would have definitely been food poisoned if I had consumed it. We also ordered the beef birria tacos which were lack luster; I had ordered it months ago as takeout and it was delicious, that's why this evening was so disappointing. Despite me bringing this to their attention, I was still charged for it and I paid for it without making a big deal but I would never eat here again. My son and I had dinner here tonight, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I ordered the tacos al carbon, but the beans were clearly old and had a sour, rancid taste. I let our server know right away--he disappeared for a while and eventually came back to offer me more rice, which I politely declined. The restaurant wasn't busy at all--we were the only ones in the dining room, with just a couple of people at the bar--yet our server, Luis, was not attentive. It took over 10 minutes just to flag him down for the check. I was so put off by the rancid beans that I didn't even eat my meal. When the bill came, I was surprised to see I was charged full price for the plate. The service was very good, Cinthia was attentive and made sure we got quality service. However, the food lacked flavor and tasted like a $20 meal instead of the $70 paid in total. The cheese dip was the most appetizing thing I got - but that's literally what it was melted cheese. My bestfriend got steak and chicken & I got chicken and shrimp. The food was not very seasoned and flavorful for my liking. I feel like they just tossed my food together without much care or effort. So I'd say their Mexican food is NOT AUTHENTIC and the elote street corn is VERYYY sweet and not good for my liking (I did send it back). Let's get into the Margarita pitcher - specifically got mango margarita pitcher and I'd say it was very JUICE filled with mango puree and maybe a pour of tequila which was not strong at all. At the end of the visit, I left with mostly a headache from the juicy juice beverage considered a margarita. Sadly I had to change my review of this place. Don't get me wrong. They do have great food. My problem is on my last visit I feel like I was waaay over charged. My date ordered 5 tacos a small guacamole and a soda. I ordered 4 items from there pick 4 menu and a soda. Somehow my bill totaled over $73. Heck even if the 5 tacos my date ordered were $5 a piece with what I ordered it still should have been that high. So my suggestion is keep a eye on your bill. This place was pretty decent. I stopped by on a Tuesday for tacos. I found parking behind Ford BBQ and walked over. When I walked in, it was pretty empty ,but there were several folks at the bar.. They have a large tv at the bar for watching sports. I ordered the chicken with rice & cheese. I asked if I could add onions and peppers and was told there was an upcharge. I understood that. Once I got my food, it was tasty and cheesy goodness. I also had a house margarita but it wasn't good at all. I can't say that I'd recommend. The added onions and peppers were $2 each for a total of $4 extra dollars! Sheesh. I ended up paying around $27 with tip. Jeez. The food, service, and waitress were all lackluster. The restaurant itself is decent, although it took until the end of our meal for a waitress to come and clear two tables by us that left about 5 minutes after we arrived so we looked at dirty tables the whole time (plenty of food was left on the plates at one table-hmm). So I ordered the lunch chicken chimichanga and it was the size of a computer mouse. The chicken was bland with absolutely no seasoning at all. None. The beef dip was literally beef with some cheese poured on the top. Eww nasty! The grease from the beef took over the cheese and it became inedible. Why was it $7.50! WHY?! The waitress wasn't attentive to the table and had to be asked to refill the drinks. I'm guessing the alcoholic drinks are what people enjoy cause I highly doubt it's the service or food. I come to this Las Colinas every time I'm in Tucker. I've read through some of the comments and I have to say I have never experienced anything but positive experiences here. The food: Every dish I've tried has been exceptional. I particularly like the Fajita Quesadillas! The portions are large and are delicious! The steak and chicken nachos are also really good. The staff: During this covid time they are running a little short staffed. I think everyone is. Like most restaurants business is a little slow. I did have to wait for a refill of my drink for a couple minutes, but it wasn't because the wait staff was goofing off. They were working with the other customers. I talked with the owner Jose. What a cool guy. He was telling me they reduced staff some because of Covid, but as soon as business picks back up they will be hiring and be back to full staff. The Beer! It's about the beer.... they have these huge beer mugs that are cold and help keep the beer cold! I'm not sure I've been somewhere where you can get a beer that big for 4-6 dollars. Incredible! The net out: The people are nice, the food is great, the beer is good and cold, the restaurant and bathrooms are very clean. I will be going again tonight and the next time I am in Tucker. read more

Such a cute place in downtown Tucker.. I arrived before the lunch crowd as was able to get a booth seat where I could spread out with my computer and get some work done while enjoying my chips and salsa. The service was quick and kind, and I was served chips and salsa and I ordered a queso and then one if Wednesday special $3.99 margaritas. After a while of working, I ordered one of the authentic chicken tacos and it was amazing. Although I don't think it's super authentic to add, the avocado on top was a great surprise and made it extra tasty. I had a wonderful experience and found a perfect balance between getting served and getting my Work done without being bothered. The lunch crowd came around 12 until about 1:30pm but the service was quick and I think you get get in and out pretty quickly for a lunch break in the area. read more

My mom and I are California Mexican-Americans. We take Mexican food VERY seriously and so we were hesitant to give this place a try as most other places have disappointed us. The salsa initially served with the chips didn't impress us too much, but we requested a spicy salsa and BOY did they deliver. The waitress gave us a habanero sauce that was just DELICIOUS. Not to mention, the lunch menu prices are AMAZING. So much under seven dollars!!! A coffee and scone costs more than that. Speaking of, the waitress brewed my mom and I a whole pot of coffee and was very gracious. And the food? Tasted like home. If you're another California Mexican-American, look no further and come here. Their hot salsa is ACTUALLY HOT (you just have to request it,) their food tastes like home, their service is generous, and best of all? The PRICES!!!! I came here last night with my sister, mom, niece and son to check out their Taco Tuesday special. This place sits right off the main drag of downtown Tucker (on Main Street), across the street from Local 7. It really is defined as a hole in the wall Mexican joint but blends in well with the revitalized Tucker Main Street strip. Parking isn't a plenty here, but you can find street parking or parking by the railroad tracks. Before walking in, you'll notice 2-3 outdoor tables and how the restaurant/shop store fronts remind you of that small town feel. It's a great feeling to not feel, for a moment, like you're in a crowded city and that "everybody knows your name". I didn't get to see much of the restaurant, but the front area had a couple tables and booths. We were seated in a large circle corner booth and were brought Chips and Salsa right away. The salsa had a punch to it! The chips weren't greasy and the salsa was good, just not as thick as I would have liked it. I got roped in to come here bc of their $1 taco Tuesday special. Basically, a hard shell taco with choice of chicken or beef, with cheese and lettuce. Nothing fancy. We ordered cheese dip with sliced jalapeños for the table, and I had a Margarona (margarita with a mini corona tilted upside down in it). The drink was ok, not really worth the $14 though. The cheese dip was also ok. When my tacos came, they were at least larger than Taco Bell's tacos and had a hefty portion of cheese and meat. They were ok as well. The best part was the Valentino Mexican Hot Sauce. Holy crap, that stuff was really good and I doused my tacos in it! Make sure to request it! The waitress was awesome and got everything out in a timely manner. I liked the atmosphere of the place, and the taco Tuesday special. They also offer up a margarita special on Wednesday. Not bad. We got seated right away. The server was really nice. The margaritas were cheap and good. Now the mediocre part. The food. I really don't want food I have to doctor to make it taste better. I got the beef chimichanga and 2 tacos. First off the beef in both was bland and dried out. I definitely know the chimichanga came out the freezer. The taco shell was very crisp and fresh, the cheese inside was good. But it had the same dry beef. I had to put too much salsa on it to eat. I may come back. The atmosphere was nice. I have been here more than couple of times. This is one of my Mexican favorites places. This place is very near to my work and it is always been our quick lunch spot. Easy to park on the streets in front of the restaurant. My regular here is Speedy Gonzales with Chicken and Beans. The Speedy Gonzales always consists of a hard Taco, an Enchilada, and Rice or Beans.Their complementary Chips and Salsa are always great. Also, if you are looking for a cheap and good Mexican restaurant around the area, this could be your spot. They also have Taco Tuesdays which are only $1 per taco to enjoy. You can find Las Colinas Mexican Grill in the heart of Tucker on Main St. It's nearly directly across from Local No. 7 and slightly down the street you'll find Matthew's Cafeteria across the railroad tracks. When Rotagilla closed a few years ago I was hoping for something interesting to take its spot - Rotagilla was a cajun restaurant (Alligator spelled backwards, get it?) that featured live music on weekends - the food wasn't bad but for some reason it never garnered much of a following in Tucker. I may have been for the very excellent CAMP that was in the same spot previously and the Cafe at Main before that, a great breakfast spot (I still haven't found a replacement for the Tucker 8). In any case, when Las Colinas opened I thought "Gee, what we need, another swag-Mexican restaurant." Not that Las Colinas is horrible, but with Los Hermanos serving up such good food nearby I couldn't fathom how Las Colinas would survive - and somehow it's done just that. The restaurant occupies a rather unusual structure that appears to have been at one time something of a retail space - there's a window that juts out that's crying for some visual merchandising, additional widows on either side and some interesting access points along either side (read that as entry doors) - this place was made to display your latest in clothing-dressed manikins or similar. The interior is just as chopped up, with several floor levels and odd nooks-and-crannies for tables and weird seating arrangements. When it was a cafe it was a bit more acceptable and provided some character - as a Mexican restaurant it's just weird and awkward. The menu here is fairly extensive with most of your usual Tex-Mex, heavily Americanized dishes. I've tried a few items and nothing was really a standout, other than the Molcajete (more on that later). The salsa is fairly bland, the chips a little on the stale side and they have these giant margaritas for those so inclined - actually I think those are the best thing you'll find here. As for the Molcajete - this is basically a bucket of steak, chicken and shrimp with roasted peppers, tomatoes and a cactus leaf,covered in melted cheese. You fish about for the goodies that you spread on tortillas before stuffing your face - and indeed, that's what this dish will entice you to do. It's a bit greasy but you only live once, right? The service here was a bit lackadaisical - the servers seemed to want to be anywhere but at your table. Prices are downright cheap. Another Mexican Grill opens in the small town of Tucker, GA! I know of two others less than 5 miles of this place, which I've tried. Food at all the places are good. I was out for lunch with "the sister" and we were craving for Mexican food so decided to try Las Colinas since it just recently opened. I've heard of them before, which is the main store off Covington Hwy in Lithonia. Appetizers: We had complimentary chips and salsa -- not sure if they'll continue doing this or they're just doing it for their grand opening. Entrees: I stuck with the basic 3 beef soft tacos with cilantro, onions, and hot sauce. It was delicious. My sister ordered this deep fried wrap with chicken in it. I tried it and didn't really like it. It was too greasy, but then again more of preference. Overall, we both enjoyed our food, but we've had better. We'll most likely be back to try more items such as the fajitas and quesadillas. read more

Taco Tuesday, chicken and beef tacos in hard shells for only $1.00. Las Colinas perfectly fit the bit for a cheap, but good lunch in the area. We stopped in and expected a quick walk up taco place but instead found a full service sit down restaurant, so not super fast but speedy enough for lunch. Our server apologized for the delay getting to our table and since it was an odd time we understood there was only the one server working. However when we all ordered the tacos, our food came out right away. We were also filled and refilled with chips and good salsa and soft drinks, so overall service was good. The tacos were surprisingly large, filled to the tops and tasty. Both the shredded chicken and the ground beef were nicely seasoned and delicious. The restaurant itself could use a little freshening up and updating but perhaps the ambiance is better in the evenings. Full liquor bar here so I would expect real good margaritas. Prices, especially on the lunch menu, are impressively reasonable. Either way you will leave satisfied and feeling like you got a good deal. read more

There's so much wrong with this place, signaled by the strange and confusing twin set of front doors. The mood is set by mid-'70s pop music, an odd choice for a traditional Mexican restaurant. The menu is very limited, and not in the exclusive, fancy-restaurant way; they just don't have a lot to choose from. No nachos. No Chile rellenos. Nothing interesting. The guacamole was whipped to a creamy froth; kind of gross. On a recent Saturday they were out of hard liquor. How does a restaurant in a popular strip of restaurants let that happen? At least the dining room was clean, though the women's restroom ran out of soap. With so many popular, trendy restaurants on Main Street in Tucker and new Mexican places popping up nearby, Las Colinas needs to step up its game in a big way. It never was that good, and it seems to have slipped from there. Unless some radical renaissance happens, I won't be back. Way too many better options out there. read more

I have been a customer here for 15 years but today 3/11/22 changed my mind. 2 soft shell tacos and a tub of queso was $14. Way I see it I can only go there for Taco Tuesday Where I can get 3 hard shell tacos , chips salsa and Ice water for $6. The salsa cup is now smaller and even the glass of water is smaller I was offended by what I was charged and Won't go again unless its on Tuesday. Mexican food used to be reasonable . truly the worst service i've ever received. I never got my drink. Ordered a sweet tea and got a lemonade? when the correct drink came the cups were dirty. Our waiter never checked to see if everything was ok, if we were enjoying the food... nothing. we actually thought they forgot about is for a good minute. So, a friend of our family chose this restaurant for a send off party. We had a few issues while we were here that probably wouldn't occur on a normal day, but the two star rating is deserved in this case. When we got here, I will say we were given plenty of chips and salsa. No complaints there. That's pretty standard and everything seemed to be relatively fresh at that point. Where we started running into issues was shortly after we got our drinks. We were notified by our waitress that their credit card system was down. When asked if they took checks, she said she didn't know, so some of the party then had to leave for a while to find an ATM that wouldn't charge them an extra fee. Now, I'm not mad at the waitress. In her defense, she seemed to try her best all night long, but she just wasn't quite keeping up with everything. The food took so long to get to us that the people who had left to get cash were gone for a good 20 minutes after we had already been waiting at least 20 minutes before. And then we still had to wait about another 10-15 minutes after they were back. So the food took almost an hour to get to us. By the time it did I had already gone through most of my drink and I wasn't asked for a refill the whole evening. Again, a simple mistake I can kind of forgive. Where things got less forgivable was when we got our food. Mine was a soggy mess of two burritos. The liquid in the burritos and under them had soaked all the way through. The taste was ok, but definitely not worth almost an hour of wait time. I also didn't seem to be the only one in our party who was less than impressed. Given, my mother usually has pretty high standards in general, but she thought it was nasty and told me so after we left. Next to me, someone else in our party who was far too polite to send her meal back asked her dad if she could taste his beans. She made a face and confirmed that her own refried beans tasted weird, so we started to wondered if she had gotten an older batch than he did. On the outside, this restaurant did everything right. They served most of the right things that you would find in other restaurants. They had a bad night and tried to make the best of it (which is why I didn't rate then 1 star.) They have a relatively good venue. And as an added bonus it was cheaper than a lot of other Mexican places. But what I started to realize once I ate the food is that they don't keep their food or their service at any kind of standard. So they have quite a bit they need to really work on.
