My husband and I used to come here when it used to be Mamasita's and it was good. The work crew and I hadn't been here in years. We were getting tired of ordering our fave top 5 places. It's definitely different owners and cooks. I ordered lunch take out for our office crew. The food was okay. It reminded me when I used to eat frozen dinners back in the day! LOL I've had better frozen dinners that tasted better than their food. The rice was on the bland and dry side. The chicken was okay , and the tortillas were undercooked and on the soggy side. This place smells like sewer! I had to sit outside, I was glad the weather was good for the outdoor seating. I have been here several times and the bathroom is always a mess. The waiters here are not very friendly. I'm not sure why, I kept trying to be friendly and the service got worse. These guys can definitely be replaced with AI servers. Food was okay, started with cheese dip and shrimp cocktail, shrimp cocktail won on this round, it was good. Cheese dip was not anything to speak of, boring. Next, ordered the parrilla with fajitas and sausage. I'm guessing, if you want seasoned fajitas you should ask for it, bland, bland, bland. Happened to be in the area.We've never been out that way from Humble before. After helping our youngin move into his new apartment, We were hungry. It seemed mexican food was everywhere so we went to the first one that caught our eye and that was Mamaritas. Nice place, lovely Latin ambiance, superb customer service, and the food was delicious. Great food, and great members of the community! Due to the tornado, they gave out free meals (2 cheese enchiladas, rice, beans) to those affected by the disaster. It was delicious! I also ordered a beef fajita chimichanga to go. The food was excellent. They do a unique empanada-style wrap instead of a burrito like most places. Would highly recommend! read more

We stopped in for dinner and had an excellent experience. We were seated right away, had chips and salsa, and drink order in within minutes. I order the Chico plate and my wife had the Spencer Special. We absolutely loved the food and will be adding this restaurant to our regular rotation. 10/10! read more

My brother, my friend and I went to celebrate my niece birthday on 2/21/2024 My friend ordered some tacos but did not eat one and asked to save it to take home. When she got home they only put the 3 tortillas but no taco. when she got home she called to complain and they hand up on her a couple of times, they finally answered and told her they will give her the taco next time. She lives 30 min away. I ordered a caldo de res. I had eaten earlier, so I only eat a chunk of meat and a few scoops of caldo and asked that the rest be put in a container to take home. When I went to warm it up the following day, I called and instead of getting an apology the gentleman who answered was rude and told me that they had put everything and they had it on camara I told them that I was willing to come and see it and he change the subject and did not want to give me some credit for these two meals that we paid for and did not enjoy not even the sauce that they served with very spicy sauce. Shout out to the bartender that was there on 6/23. Off the bat walking up to the bar was a little disgusting but we chose to sit there for faster service. Drinks were on point. So we decided to order an appetizer because we knew the food might take a while. I completely understand the short staff issue everywhere, but here is where i had the issue. Manager brings out the appetizer and asked the bartender "who's food is this" Bartender stated "these gentlemen here" manager then says "well you do it". Walks away and goes to the other side of the bar to chit chat with his friends. Now I completely understand, we all have friends that come to our jobs wanting to chit chat but the pictures below show the assistance the bartender needed. We finished our appetizer (queso flameado) which btw delicious. Our food was okay, I had the stuffed avocado and my partner had the stuff poblano, now that lacked flavor. So upon finishing our meal the manager still is chit chatting with his friends as if he wasn't working. I'm sorry but this is what irritates me about any form of management give someone a title and they feel like they don't have to do anything. But as soon as a staff member does something wrong here go the write ups. Please don't ask me what the name of this restaurant is. On the website, it says ritas, but on some parts of the restaurant it says citas. So, I am just going to say its Mama-ritas-citas. As soon as arriving, my friend and I was welcomed by a packed parking lot, but when we walked in the restaurant wasn't a lot packed. The lighting was very dim and I wondered if it was for intimate dining or not. Also, I noticed a lot of PREMATURE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!!!!! They had up their big Christmas tree with ornaments and lights on it and even fake gifts underneath. Initially, I was turned off, but was hungry. We were greeted by a stale waiter, Roy A., I say he was stale because he had such a "I'm bored to death and I'm already dead" type of attitude to himself. He definitely wasn't enthusiastic nor friendly. We ordered our drinks: water with three lemons and iced tea. He showed us to our table which was adjacent to the kitchen. I have no idea why waiters and waitresses love to seat non-Hispanic people either near the restroom or a kitchen, but there was my friend and I sitting across from the noisy kitchen. Then our chips came out and our drinks. Even the chips were PREMATURE CHRISTMAS: red chips with green chips and white chips with green and red dips The appearance of the restaurant screamed, "it needed Gordon Ramsay, Kitchen Nightmares!" as just like our waiter, the restaurant was dead, dusty, but clean and dimmed with a book for a menu. A book for a menu..meaning its not just one page or two pages, but 4 pages front and back, side to side of meals. All of what wasn't needed. My friend immediately knew what she wanted, while I took a while to decide since the menu was just too big. I ended up choosing the vegetarian combo as my friend got the steak quesadillas. As soon as we finished ordering. It took only 10 minutes and our food was out. (Don't ask me, it was authentic or not, but I thought 10 mins was very quick to cook food.) WTF? Mr. Stale Roy, bought our food out and he even mentioned that my plate was hot. I was thinking was it hot from yall putting the plate in the oven or the microwave. The food was good, but overall it was mediocre. I didn't taste any authentic flavors or spices, it felt more like it was reheated and served. Mamacita's is a very good Mexican restaurant located in Pasadena. I came here for lunch while in Pasadena for work. The restaurant has a cool waterfall outside and a very groovy bubble wall behind the bar. The obligatory chips and red salsa were good, plus they brought a green salsa as well. I ordered the Enchiladas de Crema which was three chicken enchiladas coated with sour cream sauce. The chicken inside of the enchiladas was tender and flavorful. The sour cream sauce is what made the dish. It was creamy and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. I haven't had enchiladas this good in some time. I absolutely love the fact that Mamarita's has a good assortment of vegetarian/vegan options. I haven't been to this location prior to this visit, but I have been to the location in north Houston and remember it fondly. My girls were happy with their food, and the fact that every Saturday there's a gal there who does balloon animals. Anyway, I ordered the veggie fajitas and it was a huge, delicious order of awesome. I took half home as left overs and happily ate it the next day. The server was also excellent. He was very attentive to the table, and our food arrived promptly. When I had a bowl placed in front of me on a plate with rice and white curdled looking stuff with brown splotches on the side, how in the heck was I supposed to know that was the meat. That is the most disgusting and largest amount of fat I've ever seen on a plate. Visually unappealing and threw off my taste. Soup itself was bland even after I added salt, red salsa, and pico. Rice was lukewarm at best. We had all skipped breakfast, it was 2ish, and receiving bad food was beyond disappointing. Especially with an almost empty restaurant. Oscar and his TEAM did a fabulous job on a pop-up meeting we had at my company. I called Oscar and he didn't hesitate taking care of us. This isn't the best part, however the individual container presentation was amazing, for our top-level clients, it was very, very impressive. The flavor of the food and the condiments were spot on... the food was beyond great for takeout. Oscar and his TEAM, brought in and set up all the orders, and his attention to details, well that was off the charts. Plus, he actually spoke with us before he left ensuring we were happy with everything. THAT is 110% customer service. I broke a tooth on aweful fajita. Don't order fajita here. Nothing here is spectacular. Flavor nothing great. Very bland. It's overpriced microwaved leftovers too. I was invited to Mamarita's by fellow co workers for a department celebration. I had been here before but didn't care for the dark interior, sparce parking and less than tasty flautas but decided to go ahead and join the group and hoped for a better experience. I can get tired of Tex Mex pretty quickly and usually opt for less cheesy and over topped foods so today I chose the street tacos. Known for having tons of onions and cilantro instead of cheese I said what the heck. My photo showed a pretty display of mini flat corn tortillas topped with chicken cubes, cilantro and onions but the taste was not that appealing. Our service was great. Our waitress was on top of things constantly checking on us for drink refills or simply asked if we needed anything. So props to her. Our table had the typical chips with dips but the cilantro sauce and the salsa tasted like store bought jar salsa. Most of my co workers ordered the shrimp brochette. They all said it was OK but not great. If I have a choice to go to Mamaritas or somewhere else, I would probably go somewhere else.
