Pollo Saltado
John S.

Nice atmosphere, counter service no table service. Order, pay and pick at counter area. Ordered pollo saltado - first time having it. I ususally go with lomo saltado at peruvian spots. The pollo saltado was good - thigh meat deep fried naked. It was tasty. Service was ok but not very friendly - odd for a Spanish food place. I guess because I do not speak spanish? I would return though. Place was clean and bright.

This place has the best service (quickest and friendliest staff). The food is amazing, and the Steak Rice bowl is to die for. I do enjoy how they always have Liga MX games on, but I wish it were MLS

This spot is inviting with a wide variety of food offerings. I decided on the quarter chicken (white meat) which came with a side of rice and corn pico salad. The chicken was juicy, flavorful and had the perfect level of spice. The arroz chaufa was savory, not too greasy and dotted with veggies. I even decided to splurge and order a can of Inca cola on the side -- the best. So sweet, but so enjoyable! The food was made quickly and tasted fresh. There were some sweet treats for sale as well including, tres leches cake, flan and alfajores. The staff who helped us were friendly and helpful. There is ample seating available, both high tops and larger tables with chairs for sitting large groups. There were a few TVs with sports on which gave the place a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

Wooooow, so amazing. Got it delivery and it was still hot. Everything was so fresh. The empanadas were incredible to say the least, crunchy, flavorful, so well seasoned. The SAUCE TOO - amazing. I loved it everything had such perfect seasoning and tasted so fresh.

After my first visit here, then I saw Don Pollo everywhere - quite a popular chain and their food is very good. They are well-known for their Peruvian chicken. This review is based on a visit before the coronavirus lockdown. 1/4 PERUVIAN CHICKEN WITH 2 SIDES - $8.25 Chicken was very good. Got plantains and black beans & rice for my sides - also very good. The sauces are killer good - green chunky spicy sauce and the thousand island looking sauce that is very garlicky and has a nice kick too ... and addicting. Overall great spot esp. for families. Everyone enjoyed their orders, and we had enough food for leftovers :) I'm definitely requesting Don Pollo when I visit MD again. FYI street parking is available.

Walked this place today and stopped in for dinner. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The chicken was roasted with just the right amount of seasoning and the sides were good. Prices were reasonable. The place is very casual and you order at the counter.

Hello real good chicken and sides the have a big variety will recommend

We went with the full chicken and 4 sides. Less than $30 to feed three hungry people. In our case the chicken was moist, the skin nicely seasoned and rendered of fat, although not crisp. But if it takes hot oil to achieve crispness, I am not interested. Our yucca was more dense than it should be. It did come with a nice dipping sauce. The cucumber salad, and black bean pico were both healthy and tasty. And our last side, plantains, were more like a dessert, from a texture and sweetness perspective. Not a gourmet meal, but not at a gourmet price either.

1/2 chicken with plantains and rice and beans. SO AMAZING.

The chicken is always packed with flavor and never dry. Their sides need some work though.

Every bit as good and El Pollo Rico - the place that started the Peruvian chicken craze a decade ago. Skip the fries, get the yucca.

My husband and I came here for lunch we got the rotisserie chicken(super juice and FLAVORFUL) with 2 sides and a carne asada. Needless to say, we both looked at each other and said " THIS IS OUR SPOT WE HAVE TO COME BACK!" And we sure did for dinner!!! The appetizer portions are bigger than most places tbh we got kind of full from them, we tried the chicken tacos and the yuca stuffed with chicken and cheese! Our servers were David and Henry, so kind, extremely friendly, made us feel at home and were constantly checking in on us to make sure we didn't need anything! They also gave us great recommendations. Such a great place!! Hidden gem

The guacamole was chunky and delightfully lime-y; well worth $9. The yuca rellenas were very tasty and filling. Lots of chicken and the marinated tomato and onion paired really well. Service was attentive and the only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the chairs are hard wood with no padding which can be painful for some people (me...I mean me). Will return!

I would describe them as a combination of classic and elevated Latin food. The vibe of the restaurant is very casual, but the presentation of many of the dishes takes it to another level. They also have a wide selection of beer and wine. I have had tacos, octopus, breakfast tacos, and tamales. Everything was flavorful and quite tasty. I will admit service was a little slow the last time I went, but given the weather and the fact that we weren't in a rush it wasn't a big deal. If you haven't been yet, you should go. The colorful presentation reminds me of Palette 22, and rumor has it they are expanding to the Ethiopian restaurant that closed next door. I hope that's true!

Could work on those fried plantains as they were a little soggy. The quinoa salad was good, a bigger portion would have been nice for the price paid and maybe if it would be easier to eat if served in a bowl. The chorizo sandwich was okay. Presentation and bread could be better. We left curious about their regular menu so we may give it a try some other time. Their staff were nice but not very knowledgeable about their menu items. They didn't really know how to answer my question about their vegan tres leches and told me it was not actually vegan after indicating it had condensed milk and heavy cream.

Our bill was $160 for fries, salmon tiraditos, steak frites (42), seafood coconut rice, lemonade (5, maker have forgotten to mix in sugar so we just had lemon juice?), and the 7 reasons old fashioned (19). My steak was actually pretty good. The seafood coconut rice however was undercooked, we didn't get our dishes until almost an hour after ordering so maybe they had kitchen issues. It took so long we just ate the raw rice with seafood because we ain't waiting another hour. The seafood was very good. The regular old fashioned is better than the 7 reasons old fashioned. Imo they need to get block ice, this is made with regular cubes which melts very fast and gets watery. Best dish for me was the steak, it was very nicely seared. Not very busy on a Saturday night, very nice classy date vibes indoors. Our group sat on the patio, total bill was around 750 for 7 adults 3 toddlers.

I liked Seven Reasons (at its original location) so I decided to check this out with my husband on a Saturday night. Reservations were easy to get. The place itself is fine in terms of decor. Not high end but not bad. The women's restroom has two stalls that don't indicate whether someone is in there and they're heavy doors, which makes for a potentially awkward experience with you knocking and trying to ram down the door, just to find out no one is in there. But I digress... The food is sh*t, plain and simple. The ceviche is more like raw poke that's unseasoned. The prawns taste like they were sauced in baby food. What I thought would be the hero - the branzino- had weird and misplaced (in terms of taste) dollops of sweet pineapple, it was underseasoned (honestly, unseasoned), and there was a bed of greens (salad mix and herbs, many of which were wilted) on the side. Let me be clear: the food wasn't mediocre; it was bad. Highway robbery. A disgrace. An abomination. Even the drinks were bad. Their take on a gin and tonic is akin to spraying perfume in your mouth and then chasing it with flowers. One of the hosts tried to sell us on a bottle of white wine from Uruguay. We asked to try it and it was worse than 5 buck chuck from Trader Joe's. We passed. And service at other restaurants in the area is better, so I can't even give them high marks for that. One and done. Enjoy other people's money to keep this joke afloat.

The service was excellent and accommodating. I was impressed because I know large groups can be difficult to wait on, so was very pleased with the service and how quick they were to get our orders in and us served. We ordered a variety of appetizers, such as the the empanadas, calamari, and garlic shrimp. My favorite items were the empanadas and calamari, which were extra tasty with the accompanying sauces. We also ordered a variety of grilled meats, including the two large Parrillada meat platters and picanha . The accompanying sides we tried were the fries, cheese rice, fried yucca, and plantains. I really liked the plantains, but the cheese rice was not was I expected. It was more like grits than cheesy rice. The meats were cooked to how we requested it, and of course tastes especially good with the sauces. My favorite cuts were the strip steak, beef rib, and picanha. I didn't really care for the sweet breads, but that is a personal preference. Value wise, the Parrillada platters could easily feed 4 - 5 people, so we had plenty of leftovers. I would definitely recommend checking out La Estancia if you enjoy grilled meats!
