I had passed this Don Pollo Peruvian chicken spot a few times and finally went in. The restaurant is really nice inside and the staff was very friendly. Since this was my first time getting takeout they explained what some of the sides were and gave me some recommendations on what to order for the family. The chicken had great flavor but the white meat was slightly dry (my family and I prefer dark meat). For the sides we tried the Corn Pico, Chaufa (Fried Rice), Plantains, and Black Beans and Rice and they were all really good. I was surprised at the amount of food that we got for the "Fiesta for 4" family meal. Overall the experience and food was really good and I will definitely be back.

I love some Peruvian Chicken, along with the delicious sides that accommodate it, so my friend and I decided to grab takeout here at the Don Pollo in Bethesda! I've popped into this store a couple times for lunch or early dinner, and it's usually pretty busy, so the service does their best to power through the lunch rush. In my box, I got the chicken with my two favorite sides: Yuca and sweet plantains, and they were absolutely delicious, especially when combined with the sauces they provide. The chicken itself is also pretty tasty, well seasoned but a bit dry in some parts, not a deal breaker by any means, just needed to lather it up with some more sauce.

Two words: yuca fries. Ordered takeout from Don pollo: - ceviche de mariscos (3.5/5) - chaufa de mariscos (4/5) - side of yuca (5/5) - plantains (4.5/5) - bean pico (3/5) -tres leches. (5/5) The portions are very big, we definitely had leftovers after. Make sure to wash it all down with an Inca Cola! Also if you don't eat chicken, they have some great alternatives and sides to choose from. I would be happy to order from here again.

1.5 stars. Even though this place seems to serve pretty authentic Peruvian food, the quality of everything is pretty average. The customer service, however, is terrible. We walked in and I asked the lady up front some questions in regards to how they cook their food. She was very rude and gave me terrible attitude. At the end of our conversation I ordered the Lomo Saltado. She charged me $3 more than what was stated on their menu. I asked her about this and she said they haven't updated their menus. Ok w/e. I waited 25 minutes for my meal. Man it took a while. While the food looked good, presentation wise, it was, again, average. It came with fries and for some reason they put the beef mixed in with the fries. They were soggy afff. These would have been pretty delicious but they were wet. It was kind of gross. The beef wasn't too bad. It just didn't have enough flavor to it to call it amazing. I like that they gave a lot though. I ate everything in my meal except for the fries. They made me lose some of my appetite. I won't be coming back. I can't deal with their costumer facing workers. Also, food isn't good enough for me to come back. If you value the same things then don't bother coming.

Oof. Got takeout for dinner from this location and started to feel sick about halfway through my meal. I went to throw the remainder of my food out and found a short black hair in the corn pico. Needless to say, I won't be ordering from here again.

Pollo Saltado being made with personal touch to it. Must have.

Pollo Saltado and Manager David's service with attention to detail about customer's ask will make this business a huge success. I Highly recommend this place because of this authenticate taste and cleanileaa.

It was my worst meal, during my meal I found a hair in my food. And I ordered mash potato and it tasted like garlic. Disappointing. Please see the pictures

Ehhh...I was hoping for something better but got just ok…read more Located in Pike and Rose off Old Georgetown Rd, it's situated in a really good area. I went around 6 pm on a Saturday and it was pretty empty at the time. There are kiosks that you can order at or you can order at the counter. I ordered the 3 wings (whole) and a side of fries. I didn't have to wait long and when I got my bag the food was hot!!!! I probably should have gotten what they are known for (chicken sandwiches) but I wanted wings badly. The fries were good but could've used just a little more time in the grease to make them a bit crispier. The wings were served hot and fresh out the grease. I was expecting great and got just ok. The wings lacked flavor and could have been fried a tad bit longer for a crispier bite. I was almost afraid that they were undercooked, so I ate only one wing out of caution. I will go back, but only for reputable menu items and not the wings. Also...the restaurant was fairly clean (likely bc it was empty) but could have used a once over as it appeared that the dining floors were swept but the dirt was left in a corner; this could appear as if the restaurant wasn't a tidy as it needed to be. Overall, I'll give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Although I've seen quite a few Roaming Roosters sprout up in the area, I figured that it was time to try out the food. For my order, I went with the chicken tenders (3-4 pieces) and a cup of fries. The order was about $14 without tip. I thought the portion size of the tenders and fries were pretty good based on what I have received from other chicken spots in the area. An order of fries is about four bucks (I didn't see any combo meals on the menu), but you will receive A LOT of fries. If you are dining with someone, you might want to split an order of fries unless you are super hungry. The tenders, which have three spice levels (mild, medium and hot) will come out PIPING hot, which is a good thing. I even had to wait a few minutes to eat the chicken because the food was so hot. I guess this definitely is a good thing if you are doing take out because the food will not be cold as ice by the time you arrive home...depending on how far you live from the restaurant. Overall, I thought the food was delicious, and the spice level of medium just was what I was looking for. I thought it was kind of funny/interesting that the chicken tenders were served on a plain white piece of bread with three pickles, but I guess that's just how Roaming Rooster does it. Perhaps, the bread is there to soak up some of the oil from the chicken, which I guess is a good thing. The fries were pretty awesome because they reminded me a bit of the fries from Five Guys, which I LOVE. Service was fine. One of the workers seemed to be a bit grumpy, but the woman who took my order had a nicer attitude. I stopped by around 6/7 pm so maybe the worker was just over their workday...a mental state that probably all of us has experienced on multiple occasions. The restaurant has a decent dining area with a small outdoor section (I believe there is an upper dining area too). Personally, I was not a fan of the outdoor dining section because it shares a walkway where customers/delivery people are entering and leaving the restaurant.

This is a downside, but they are very good one of my favorite things of them is that they have the perfect amount of spice to get me out of my comfort zone, but not be torture me.(I have an above average spice tolerance.) Cheesling wings. I normally love these things, but I normally get them in boneless. I asked for them boneless to the person taking orders. I got home and realized I hadn't gotten boneless (also bone in wings cost a dollar more. Yes, I was charged for bone-in wings. I looked at the receipt.) Cheesling fries. These were ok, but I don't think the cheese powder added much (it was very sweet. Almost gross but bearable) to them next time. I'll probably just get the regular fries. I will continue to eat from here. But I will be contacting the store tomorrow about my wings not being boneless. The ambience was OK multiple televisions playing multiple different programs and a nice looking bar. Another problem was that Maps app says that this place is open till nine but my friends and I got there at 8:30 and the person working upfront said that we have to order takeout and they don't serve food in front past eight

I got the galbi flavor wings and wow the smokiness of the flavor was my favorite part. Being someone who loves spice however it wasn't as spicy as I expected it to be. The tteokbokki was the perfect amount of spice (I do wish there were less fish cakes and more of the rice cakes). The waitress was working hard!!! It seemed like she was the only one out front and she ran the place well. She greeted us as we walked in and was very respectful throughout. Plenty of seating available and also options for pick up. The bathrooms were also pretty clean (except bring napkins if you hate air dryers like I do lol).

If you like/love the Pisco Y Nazca location in DC, then you'll love the Bethesda location…read more For our first visit, we dropped by on an early Sunday afternoon and were impressed by the location and the food. Fortunately for us, the food was pretty much of the same high caliber as the food from the Pisco Y Nazca location in DC. For our dining pleasure, we went with our favorite dishes and beverages - Ají de Gallina, the Callejero ceviche, and of course a few pisco sours. Although some might consider the prices on paper to be high, I think the prices are fair in terms of portion sizes and quality of the food. Overall, I thought the service was fine. However, I was a little annoyed that we learned about the prix fixe brunch, which includes three courses for $34, after we placed our orders and started eating. While eating, I noticed that other folks at the bar where ordering from a different menu, and the server let me know that they were ordering from the brunch menu. So, I'm thinking that the other bartender forgot to give us both the brunch menu and regular menu when we sat down. Regarding parking, I do not think the restaurant has its own parking, but there is street parking and plenty of parking garages in the area. If you are not familiar with the area, you may want to look up some garages before heading out because the prices can range from a couple of bucks per hour to $7+ per hour. I have a feeling that we'll return to this location - mainly as a way to avoid dealing with the rigamarole of commuting to DC and dealing with DC-related traffic and shenanigans.
