There are not enough great things that I can say about this restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and the tacos are OMG. On my very first trip to Playa del Carmen I was introduced to Don Sirloin on the first night. That was a huge mistake because I only wanted Don sirloin for the remaining of the trip and could not give any other restaurant a chance. This restaurant was good and affordable The margaritas were amazing I can't even tell you how many we had every time we went past the tacos were delicious. My favorite taco was the El Pastor which was extremely juicy you tasted the sweetness of the pineapple and the pork was a match made in heaven. The staff was extremely friendly they made us feel like we were at cheers by the second day they knew exactly what we wanted they had around the drinks brought immediately over to the table it was great and it has been ingrained in my memory as one of the best places I have ever been to on vacation. It's so cool how it is very simple it's not a lot to the menu, it's delicious, it's affordable, it's friendly, and it's perfect. This place was our first stop due to staying in the condos right across the street. It was the BEST first stop. We got a plate of four meats that the menu says feeds 4. There were 3 of us, and sooooo many leftovers that the servers were nice enough to box up!! The salsa, the limes, the drinks (Sangria and Lemonade) the 4 meats... everything was to die for. I wanted to like this place since it was so close to me but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I might be a little spoiled because I ate at Fogón twice which is literally 10 steps up from here so I expected something of similar quality since the ratings was good here. But this is how it compares... All the tacos I received came with just the plain meat. Absolutely no garnish on it. They give you salsa and garnish on the side but only enough for maybe 2 tacos. At Fogón the tacos come fully garnished plus extra. I ordered a quesadilla for my kids to share. It comes as two pieces while at Fogón the quesadilla comes as 3 pieces plus each piece is larger and with more cheese. My wife ordered a torta which also did not look very impressive. Flavor wise Fogón also has this place beat. The staff was excellent but I would have to recommend just going next door to Fogón. read more

Best taco place I ate at while visiting Playa del Carmen last month. Al pastor is my favorite taco meat in the U.S. But then I tried Don Sirloin...and wow, no comparison. I could die happy eating the al pastor here. They have two glorious meat spits, one for pastor and one for sirloin. Watching the guy cut the meat off the spit right onto the taco was like a work of art. Meat, meat, meat, pineapple, and repeat. We split the "Taquiza Don Sirloin" meal for 4. It came with sirloin, pastor, arrachera, pollo, queso con chorizo, rajas con crema (poblanos), beans, guac, and tortillas. Yes, yes, and yes. Why is everything sooo good?? First impression of the place was that it was pretty spacious and clean. When we sat down the server didn't acknowledge us or give us the menu. My boyfriend had to flag down the server to get a menu. When we asked for the bill it took awhile for it to come. And when the bill came the server circled the total and said "tip is not included" which we found kinda rude. Oh yeeeeah - this place rules. It's been more than 6 weeks since we've been back and I'm still thinking about this fantastic place. Everything was good but the sirloin taco con queso has my heart. The salsas, especially the geeen salsa that came with it was also a perfect condiment to go with it. We just kept ordering from the menu till we couldn't eat anymore. Note that there was a line about 8 parties ahead of us and it was not moving quickly. They do have other items in the menu but we were in the mood for tacos. They have the al pastor and the sirloin seating on the side so it's cut to order. Service was good and when we came it wasn't busy and it was open concept resto. You can see them make your food. They provide 3 different salsas on the table one, I used to top some of my tacos to give it extra flavors. Walking 15 min from Frida Museum to this location (they have several locations). Open space u can see the street, nice English speaking waiter. Price is perfect. Food is clean, yummy.
