Hadn't eaten all day and all I wanted in life was a good plate of shawarma. Drove up to Golden Pita behind Lougheed Mall to find it closed...so on a hope and a prayer drove as fast as I could to Donair Town! Firstly, I was jarred to walk in and see an older Asian husband and wife team behind the counter. Uhm...I thought I was coming for Lebanese food....can I trust a Chinese couple to do it justice?? That being said they were both pleasant and were kind so that made me happy I ordered the chicken plate to go. I was concerned to see them pop the chicken in a microwave as soon as I gave them my order...and then they plopped some very watery looking hummus until the plate....and when they gave me my takeout I saw that they had just popped a warmed up grocery store pita in the original baggie it came in on top of my box. I definitely brought my meal home with me feeling very unsure of what I'd gotten myself into...... The verdict? I actually didn't mind it! Sure, the chicken could have been more moist and fresh, sure the pita was just meh...but overall the seasoning was good and pretty flavorful, the little cucumber salad side had a good oomph from the dressing, the hummus was runnier than I'm used to but made for good dipping and the rice was plain but cooked fine. The portion vs. price value is pretty excellent, which is an immediate thumbs up. For simplified Lebanese cravings in a pinch, I'd come here again. In fact...I'm craving it again. The WORST donair platter I have ever had! I got the lamb and it looked beige Color . To top it off all the sauces were watered down, weird looking and tasting hummus. cannot stress this enough DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! read more

A good Donair place run by a friendly family. The Chicken plate is a great deal at 7.50. There is nothing particularly exceptional about Donair town, but the quality and quantity is exceptionally consistent. I eat there about once a week. There isn't much for seating, and the chairs aren't very comfortable, so I would recommend take-out. One highlight is that they play fantastic BBC documentaries on the TV while they work, so you can learn while you wait for your food. :) read more

I usually get the Chicken Plate when I go. Portion size is huge and there's a lot of consistency in the food preparation which means I'm never disappointed. The work fast and the prices are very reasonable. Their seating area kind of sucks (so I usually get takeout) but that's about all the bad I can say about the place. read more

Me and my mo are so disappointed. It looks good in the picture (the salad supposed to comes with cheese and olive but she just put two pieces of onion and tomatoe and the cucumbers) it taste so bad the beef and lamb and so salty. It was our first time to eat here. Poor customer service, she didn't ask if we want water. I saw a strand of hair in my beef plate and she didnt say sorry. I asked to make me chicken plate instead. I didnt even finished my food cause it was salty. The feta bread is so cold. ITS NOT EVEN WARM. Its so unhygienic cause the guy slice something and left it for more than ten minutes. I got the super lamb donair with a Pepsi and came to 9.25, the donair was ok but it definitely lacked the amount of lamb to call it super as at any other Donair it would be just be a normal donair and barely any hot sauce. It was middle of the road, just ok. read more

This place is one of my go-to standbys when no one feels like cooking. We usually get the chicken plate (tabbouleh for me, Greek salad for my wife) which is a great value and ample portions. The hummus is a little on the runny side for me but I still like it. The staff is very friendly and well organized, with meticulous order taking. Good selection for sodas as well which is nice. Pretty good for what it is :not a fancy place by any means, but perfect for a quick bite. Fast and courteous service, run by Chinese people, but pretty good food. They have a points card which offers the 10th donair free. Funny how it can't be applied to plates, which are more expensive items, but that's ok, it's their rule. I was here in a very cold winter day, and was shivering in my coat, so would say the heating system is not the most efficient. But I did survive, so it can't be that bad either. Beautiful non traditional, sauce slathered, massive pockets of artery clogging meat joy for six bucks. Yum. Run around the block twenty times, go inside get one. Eat repeat. Still not a fan of the chicken, but everything else is great. Recently bought by new people, but they didn't change a thing. Easily one of the best Donair places around. Oh and they carry Jones soda. Loved Donair Town when it was owned by the original owner Sami. Since it has been taken over (a number of years now), I've been surprised to see that the new owners have kept the portions similar size and have continued offering all the same stuff. If you like pitas, meat, vegetables and sauce. These donairs are deadly. Definitely in my repertoire of go-to fast food in Coquitlam. read more

This humble little place definitely deserve a lot more stars. We came here by accident as the restaurant next door was closed on Tuesday. Being a hungry bear, we came into Donair Town for a snack while deciding where to go for dinner. We ordered a jumbo chicken plate to share amongst three of us. The chicken was moist and very flavorful. The Greek salad was fresh, rice was tasty and even the hummus was nicely seasoned and creamy. It was one of the best donair we've ever had. Either we were really hungry or the place is just fantastic. My 4 year old gave it a thumb up so we ordered a second jumbo plate, this time a Hawaiian plate that was topped with pineapples. The second plate tasted just as good or even better than the first one and my 4 year old gave it two thumbs up. So that pretty much took care of our dinner. The owner is really smart to offer different themes of donair including Hawaiian, Lebanese, Caribbean, mushroom and etc. definitely recommend this place to friends and family read more

Very good food, excellent service and the price is ok too. There is also one in New Westminster on 12th street and 10th ave. They are both owned by the same family which has been making and selling Donair for over 15 years that I know of. That is how long I have been a satisfied customer of theirs. Went yesterday as power was out. Found Nothing special here food wise . The place really old and not maintained properly. I had batter donairs in town. They even charge you extra if you want a bit more of hot sauce on your donair. read more

Good food, large portions at a good price IF you can go in. They advertise delivery but got our order wrong, it took me 10 minutes to get the person on the phone and then they said they would deliver the proper food and never did. So my husband had a decent dinner and I never got anything. read more
