Falafel platter (large and to go)
    Emily S.

Oh man that falafel plate!!! That tabbouleh, that rice, and a fresh selection of salad toppings !!! I came home with this and my partner had to go get his own because he couldn't stop eating mine. Can't wait to go back and try more. Best falafel in lower mainland for sure!!! Falafel how it is supposed to be, made simply and made fresh for each order.

Hummus and it comes with 3 fresh pitas!

Simply amazing food and very friendly staff. Expect a line most days, but it's worth it. The seasoning on the chicken beats any other shawarma place. Portions are huge, but still amazing quality and flavours. Hummus is perfection, with beautiful olive oil and paprika to finish. HIGHLY recommended!

Had the pleasure of a friendly recommendation to try Zaaki's a couple days ago and let me tell you. The small signage and minimal advertising is a perfect juxtaposition to the sensational quality you'll find inside. As a frequent donair customer i take pride in exploring and being well versed in the best of the best around. This is the best I've come across so far! I went for a large chicken lamb, meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Sauces were fresh and flavourful and not too heavy or light. Veggies were all very fresh and real, none of that subway tomato bullsh!t I was also very pleasantly surprised to see their onions had some kind of peppering or seasoning as well. All around pleasurable experience size was great for the price. Left full and satisfied. Highly recommended

I like the chicken platter and that you can choose the size. The regular is filling for me. I like that you can choose your sauce and I recommend the tzatziki over the hummus. The baklava is also decent though I will like it better if they use crushed pistachios instead of walnut. The place is not very big, with a bar counter and 2 tables for dining in. Most people do buy their food to go though. A good donair place in the New West area.

It's a solid 4.5 place. Fresh falafel made to order, beef has a lot of flavor and you get lots of food for the price. Much better than mega donair and Babylon cafe.

I work nearby and this is always my go-to place for consistently good food. The people there are always friendly and welcoming as well. I always order the same thing and it's always delicious! They also have a wide variety of veggies and sauces and you always get your money's worth! I'm big on consistency and I've gotten lunch here for over three months while testing other restaurants around the area and I can confidently say that this is still my favourite :) Give them a shot and you won't be disappointed!

This is the best falafel I have ever tasted - and I tend to order falafel quite often. I have even had falafel in Israel and this falafel is still the best I have ever had. The flavour is perfect and the texture is as well: fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I always order the large falafel platter which is excellent value for your money. The rice is so good too. I have introduced 3 friends to this place and two are in agreement that this is the best falafel. The 3rd friend is more of a shwarma guy. Highly recommend!

Chicken Shwarma plate $13.99. Mouth watering

Favorite Middle Eastern Cuisine hands down. So this is a pick up only hole in the wall. If this isn't your favorite tzatziki then you don't love garlic. I suggest getting the chicken plate. It has pickled turnips, basmati rice, Greek salad, probably 2 chicken breasts worth of slow roasted chicken and Greek salad with hot sauce and tzatziki. It's about $13.99 and will feed you for a day ! Portions are huge. The only thing I don't like is the pita but it's not needed. It's family run and fast . You will have to stand in a line but reminds me of the best delis in New York that move quickly and are so loved that they are never not busy. Try this place even if what you feel like is Greek. It won't let you down I promise.

The menu in store said it also came with 2 grape leaves but those were not there. I liked the tabbouli, which was fresh and extra lemony. The falafels and eggplant were too oily. It was good that the falafels were extra crispy but I felt like I could taste the oil itself, and the eggplant was completely soggy with oil. The potatoes did not have the excess grease problem and were nicely seasoned. The hummus was good but drizzled with oil which was the last thing I wanted more of. The pita was the kind you can buy at the grocery store, would have been nicer if it was warmed up. The veggie deluxe plate was about $20 after tax, which is towards the upper end of prices for donair shops. This plate does contain more of a variety than the falafel plates at lots of shops though. The amount of food was enough that I felt full. I can't really say if it was worth it because I was so turned off by the greasy eggplant that I wasn't able to really enjoy it. To me the staff was neither friendly nor unfriendly. Anything with falafel takes a little longer because they fry them to order, so considering that, the wait time for my food was reasonable.

One of these days, I'm going to sit down in the restaurant and give a review on that end. For now, all I can speak on is the food. I ordered my lunch at the office from SkipTheDishes. The Greek salad was tangy, vibrant, and crisp with a tang from the green olives and a zip from the feta. The flavours mingled into a fresh, onion-fueled bite topped with cleansing lettuce and cucumber alongside fresh sliced tomato. The mixed shawarma donair in tannour bread? If you're ever ordering from here, do *not* miss out on the Tannour bread. Light, crispy, flavourful, and a perfect shell to hold the fillings of juicy meats, veggies, sauces and all. Combined with their house hummus and hot sauce? You can't go wrong. The whole meal was filling, flavour packed, and healthier than other options. You can literally taste the freshness. I would have liked more feta and olive in my salad, as a personal preference, and couldn't find any chicken in my "mixed shawarma", but nonetheless, I did enjoy it very much. If looking for a good appy, I recommend their "lentil soup" or "seasoned potatoes as well (be warned these are oiled up but oh so good!) I'll continue to be a regular at Crispy Falafel when ordering lunch, and continue to recommend to friends and family ;)

After requesting to have it fried I was surprised to see it come out of a microwave. Considering it's also the same price as superbaba I would suggest that of you're looking for a falafel save your money and go elsewhere. Staff were polite and place was clean for what that's worth. Hope you chicken lovers find something decent but if falafel is what you're seeking this is a hard pass.

The tomatoes in the Greek salad were on the verge of being mushy (I ate them, but considered discarding them, and if they'd been any more mushy I would've thrown them out), the hummus was grainy, the pickled onions tasted kind of funky, the samosa wrapper was not crisp, the dolma filling was weirdly dense, the pita was store-bought and very thin (I recognize this is intentional and a style some people like, I just prefer a thicker pita for dipping). The toum was really good, but that did not make up for everything else going on. They get a second star from me because when I ordered I also bought a bottle of their ayran to drink later, and that did end up being pretty good, so I feel my rating should acknowledge that there was something that wasn't a complete miss. But I definitely wouldn't eat here again.
