They aren't pushy at all though and only give information and let the parents choose what's right for their family. They also are fun for cleanings and regular things like that. They also helped one of my adult friends get their lip & tongue tie fixed, so talk to them if that's something you're needing help with. It's not covered by insurance, though they give you paperwork that you can submit after the fact if you'd like to give it a shot. All in all this is a knowledgeable, friendly place that puts great care into keeping their patients happy and healthy.

I asked if we could only do the couple of teeth that are going to cause issues soon as to avoid such a high bill and worry about the other ones later. I was told that they would absolutely NOT adjust the work to accommodate my request and instead offered to take out more credit in addition to the care credit we currently have. I insisted and they refused, so we went for a second opinion. The new dentist not only offered to adjust a plan to fit our needs, but quoted us to do the exact same work for only $250. We didn't have to adjust our plan and my son got all the work done that he needed for $1050 LESS. Please beware and seek a second opinion for high costing dental work quoted at this office. $1300 versus $250 for the exact same work is rather suspicious and ridiculous to me

The atmosphere is welcoming to kiddos of all ages (chalk in the entry for little ones to create on the sidewalk, tv with cartoons, kid friendly video games, and they even have a little castle in the waiting room) and the staff are incredibly friendly. I unfortunately had a headache while waiting for my childrens appointment to be done and the woman at the front desk immediately offered to turn off the tv for me to sit in silence. Dr. Kugar's practice feels so much more personal--she actually knows the names of my 2 kids. We've already seen her for 2 cleanings and a cavity fill, which was a first for us. She was so gentle, kind and warm. My kids had no hesitation having her inspect their teeth and I felt 100% confident in her recommendations for dental care. The reception area is really cute, with a little house inside with a play kitchen. In the patient area she has a great set up that offers a tad more privacy compared to the more open-concept areas, which I REALLY appreciate. All in all, we LOVE it. I made an appointment for my kids to be seen at Clark, Dean, & Associates. The employee I spoke with over the phone when making the appointment inquired about what kind of insurance we had, to which I replied that we were covered by my husband's federal employee insurance. She told me that they accepted government plans, made the appointment, and that was that. When we went for the appointment, the staff were all friendly. We had a short wait before we were brought back. The staff took x-rays of my kids' teeth, the dental hygienist gave them a 5-10 minute cleaning, and the dentist looked over my kids' teeth and x-rays. We were in the office for approximately 1 hour. When we were checking out, the employee said that she did not know our specific insurance coverages, but that she did not think we would have any costs to worry about. Fast forward to the following Monday- I receive a call from the office to inform me that this office does not accept our insurance and we now have a $390 bill for services rendered. Wow! When my husband went to their office to get a break down of what in the world they did that constituted a $400 bill ($45/child was strictly bitewings?!?!?), they informed him that it was typically their practice to check insurance coverages, but could offer no explanation of why this was not done for us. Absolutely unacceptable. We are fortunate that we are able to pay this very unexpected bill (all services would have been covered 100% with an in network provider). The clinic did offer a measly 10% cash discount, but I would have elected to find an in network dentist had I been informed that this office was not covered by our insurance. Shame on me, and shame on this office for not verifying benefits for their customers.

I do have one daughter that is now 28 years old and has multiple special needs that has had outstanding care along with my other two children that have been coming here. When my daughter began her care she was extremely orally defensive from many years of being on a ventilator and having a feeding tube as well as many other aggressive steps to save her life early on. One of the many things she struggled with was getting her teeth cleaned but I am so happy to report that with the dedication and patience of the staff at FPD she remains cavity free at 28 yrs old and now gets her routine cleanings and X-rays without incident.
