Overall good experience. Great appetizers and above average cheese pizza. Anything with red sauce was pretty good. Alfredo sauce left something to be desired. Biggest knock was we were in a room with our party of 8 and then two parties of 15+, only 1 waitress for all that. She did as good as she good but the wait times when needing something was brutal. Girls working the ice cream counter were super friendly.

Pretty good smoked salmon Cesar Salad for the price considering it's an Italian Restaurant mainly known for pizza and pasta. The bread roll was delish too. Ordered take out, friendly Customer Service . Definitely recommend to try their pasta and desserts .

I tend to pick up Donatelli's for lunch ordering from the Lunch Rush menu. I am a sucker for the $10 Rigatoni w meatballs!! I recently switched it up to the $8 Whole Dunker w meatballs....talk about a lot of food!! It took me a couple hours to finish it all ....slowly picking at it. Then it filled me up for hours!! The staff are always friendly and efficient. Parking is super easy in the big parking lot. Food is ALWAYS DELICIOUS!!! Owners Trish & Steve recently retired but food & service have remained top notch!!! Donatelli's is a little unassuming Italian place in a strip mall....easy to pass over.... don't! It is worth the stop...even worth the take out!! Our family used to order the Baked Mostaccioli dinner.for $55...whoa!! We would get an entire pan of mostaccioli, an entire loaf of garlic bread and a pint of ice cream!! No matter what you order and whether you dine in or get it to go your palate and belly will be grateful!! Donatelli's gets it right....every time!!! Cheers and thanks Donatelli's for my hundreds of perfectly hitting the spot meals!! Cheers!

If you are looking for old school Italian with a family feel you need to come to Donatellis in White Bear Lake. This family owned restaurant has been serving up classic Italian dishes and pizza for years. Known for generous portions and incredible service this place has a way of making you feel at home with with the food and service. I highly recommend all pizzas, you cannot go wrong, lasagna and the creamy Mac n cheese as well as a ton of sides to add a little flavor to the meal. They have a generous selection of drinks and local beers and an a solid wine list that pairs great with a huge menu. Make sure to ask what new dishes have been added to the menu as they have added some new items to a classic menu. Somewhere in the near future Diners and Drive In's will revisit Donatellis for the Swedish time and I happened to get to join the crew for this incredible taping. The food was amazing as always and Christian and the team run a tight ship! In Covid season they have a fantastic to go menu and have catering for all size parties.

We had Donatelli's for lunch on Christmas Day thanks to their pick up program they offer on the larger holidays. We had a lasagna and cheesy bread. Would highly recommend if you don't want to cook on Christmas. Today we had a pick-up order and the food was pretty good. My bf had a sausage and pepperoni pizza and fried ravioli. The ravioli was super crispy and their tomato dipping sauce is very chunky and flavorful. The only thing he thought could be better is if there was more cheese filling inside. There were pretty large air pockets inside so it was mostly the ravioli breading rather than filling. The pizza was quite soggy/messy in the middle but the edges were crispy and flaky. I had a small Caesar salad which was huge for a small (great value, could definitely be a side for two people) and the house-made croutons were my favorite part. I also had the Baked Linguini Carbonara with garlic cheese bread. Loved the pasta bake, could've had a bit more sauce on it but it was still delicious. Bread was baked and toasted to perfection as usual. The only reason I give three stars is the cost for the value of the food. I'd say the small salad was the best value, otherwise everything else was kind of expensive. We've also tried their spaghetti pie which is a pretty good value for a family meal but definitely order some extra sauce on the side! There's tons of parking at the restaurant. They have a bunch of freezers in the main entrance with pre-made food from their menu to take home and bake/heat as needed. There's also a section with ice cream and gelato which looks delicious, haven't tried it yet. They have a very eclectic theme in the dining area. You'll find yourself scanning the room and investigating all of the large Pink Panther characters above the booths. Very unique place with a cozy hometown feel.

The pros: portion sizes are huge, chicken tasted good The cons: waiter did not stop by the table once, my water was empty within the first 10 min of sitting there and i had to take my cup physically up to the counter to get water from them because i was so thirsty. I didnt see him once after that, he just stood up at the counter talking to the other server. The pasta was oily, they put so much cheese on everything that the oils from the cheese come out and my pasta literally had a layer of oil all around the plate. The mozzerella garlic bread barely had any garlic bread taste, tasted mostly like mozzerella. The mozzerella was also so oily that the garlic bread was just soggy 5 min after the waiter put the plate down. The price is steep, by myself i got an app and an entree only and it came out to 48$ before tip. Overall, for a spot with the reviews it has it completely let me down along with the locals who recommended it to me.

For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Marsala. You get to choose a side; options ranging from Alfredo Fettuccine to Green Beans to Mashed Potatoes to Spaghetti Marinara. I went for the Spaghetti. The meal also came with two breadsticks. Overall, the dish was decent but not remarkable. The highlight was the mushrooms in the Marsala wine sauce. They were flavorful and well prepared. The chicken itself was just okay. Without the sauce, it lacked seasoning, and the texture varied throughout the breast, with some parts tender and others noticeably tough or chewy. The spaghetti was good, though comparable to standard spaghetti you might find anywhere. The breadsticks, however, were disappointing; they were extremely hard and not enjoyable to eat. I also wish the Chicken Marsala and the spaghetti were packaged separately. Because of the amount of sauce, everything blended together in the container. I don't mind my food touching, but separating the items would make for a better presentation and texture. I do think other menu items may have more to offer. One mediocre experience isn't enough for me to write off the restaurant entirely, so I would consider trying something else in the future. However, I wouldn't recommend this particular dish based on today's order. Overall rating: 3/5.

The location is close to the lake, which makes the area feel peaceful, and parking has never been an issue, which is always a plus. We parked right next to the restaurant in the free lot. They gave us the option to sit inside, outside on the patio, or even by the water across the street where they have a nice space kind of like a patio as well but with a better view of the lake. We went with the patio, and it was a great choice. For starters, the crab cakes and spicy calamari were both excellent. My wife went with the NY strip, while I tried the special which consisted of crab legs, mashed potatoes, and three shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor; honestly, it felt like a party in my mouth with each bite. The only minor hiccup was waiting a bit too long for a refill on my wife's Diet Coke, but aside from that, our server Dave was attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The atmosphere is another highlight. The place is nicely decorated, has a comfortable vibe, and even the bathrooms were well-kept. Overall, the food, service, and setting all came together to make it a wonderful evening. My wife and I will definitely be back.

The décor is elegant and inviting, and halfway through dinner the lights dimmed into what we jokingly called the "sexy dinner lights," making the atmosphere even more warm and cozy. One thing I really liked is that every entrée comes in multiple sizes, so you can order the portion that fits your appetite. I wish more restaurants offered that option! We started with the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp, and it was a great appetizer. The shrimp had a light, crispy Parmesan crust and came with two delicious dipping sauces. I ordered the Lasagna, and it was exactly what I was hoping for--rich, hearty, cheesy, and full of flavor. One entrée at the table was the Chicken Fettuccine, and we all laughed because none of us expected the pasta to be bright green! It turned out to be spinach fettuccine and ended up being a favorite. Another person ordered the Seafood Linguini De Mare. It wasn't their personal favorite, but that was simply a matter of taste rather than the quality of the dish. I had a Red Ruby Spritz mocktail, which was refreshing and beautifully presented. The others enjoyed their drinks as well. The portions were generous. Even though we were completely stuffed, we still couldn't pass up dessert! The Crème Brûlée was outstanding with a perfectly crisp caramelized sugar topping and silky custard. The Budino was incredibly rich, decadent, and one of the highlights of the night. The Salted Caramel Gelato was also enjoyed. Service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere that made us want to linger. One funny tip: the bathrooms were spotless, but the toilets are surprisingly low!
