We went out to eat in downtown Stillwater and three desired places we went to had wait times over 45 minutes. We ate at QuickFire Pizza because there was zero line and all the tables were open. I ordered the Prosciutto Arugula pizza and it might have been the worst pizza I've ever tasted. Usually, when I see Arugula on a pizza it's an automatic purchase for me (I love that bitter leafy green!). However, the arugula was accompanied by goat cheese, which I love. BUT there was SOOO MUUUUCH goat cheese on this pizza it was inedible. I assumed that goat cheese may accompany mozzarella or something like that, but it wasn't unfortunately. In order to make the pizza edible... all the goat cheese was scraped off the pizza. Maybe you love goat cheese, and what I described above doesn't bother you. Another complaint I have is the crust. I was expecting a Neapolitan pizza-like crust (think punch pizza), but this crust was basically thinner crust dominoes (low-quality pizza). At first blush QuickFire pizza comes across a lot like Punch Pizza, but there are some key differences: 1. It's not a chain. 2. They bring the food to your table. 3. The pizza is pretty awful. We've been here a few times and have tried a number of pizzas. I'm not sure why. The Neapolitan pizza is kind of... thick crust. What? Also, likely burned, and not in a "we meant to do that" way. Looking for survival tips? The Margherita Fino is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. That's about as good as you're going to get. Its flavor gets old quick, though. They showed up with a ton of pizza for a local Chamber mixer and even though I grabbed this pizza after it had sat on the table for probably over 20 minutes. They still deserve a five star rating---it was that flavorful and delicious. I had the mac n cheese, the thai pizza with snowpea pods on it, and a couple slices of margheretta pizza. My wife and I went to QF Pizza with our dog, having heard that it was dog friendly. So how was our visit? Both Good (the food), and Bad (the setting). FIrst the good news. My wife had the Truffle Shuffle, being a vegetarian, it was a great option. I had a made to order Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, mushroom, red onions, and tomato pizza. Both arrived to our table fast and hot, and perfectly done. Service was good, albeit, we were the only ones in the restaurant (the young man was especially nice while the young women seemed bothered by us). My wife loved her pizza, and my pizza was spicy, tasty, with a great wood finish. Loved it, as I expected something like Punch Pizza, and this was so much better. Two pizzas and a lemonade was about $26 -- albeit, a bit expensive for pizza, but delish! The bad? Since we had our pooch, we had to enter the rear of the restaurant which is unmarked and rather uninviting. There is so much potential here: great stone walls; a nice trellis; and great pizza! But the flower boxes are empty, the tables unfinished, and garbage, tarps, and lumber thrown around. Not appealing at all. Plus, they didn't have a bowl for our dog's water; they had to cut a plastic shell box which was really difficult to carry with water. There is so much great potential if they would just stain/seal the tables, clean the place up, and plant flowers in the three flower boxes on the wall. Simple! One last thing: their web site is out of date. They had pizzas that weren't on the web site, and the house salads were $6 instead instead of $4 noted on the website. Where is management? I still give it three stars for the great pizza, but I had to mark it down for subpar management and environment. We'll come back again sometime and see if they care and improve things a bit. read more

For starters the pizzas are a little expensive for "personal sized" pizzas (even relative to other stone fired pizza-joints). It's actually cheaper to get a 7$ cheese pizza and add tomato and basil than it is to get a Margherita "specialty" pizza. Two pizzas would've been expensive so we got a house salad and split one pizza and salad between two people. The salad was pretty decent, with cherry tomatoes, carrots, onions and a large quantity of red and green bell peppers. There was also a negligible sprinkle of cheese (but the small quantity didn't bother me). The pizza was pretty tasty, it wasn't wet like punch or burned like Black Sheep. The crust was soft and had a nice texture, but the pizza seemed to lack flavor. It was actually kind of odd how bland it tasted, considering it had all the components of a more-flavorful pizza. The staff didn't seem hugely enthusiastic, but it is a "fast casual establishment", where you go to get fast-ish food, eat it, and then go on with your life. read more

I was in Stillwater for a training all weekend and our group stopped here for lunch. So first - Quick Fire wins huge points with me because they offer a gluten free pizza at NO EXTRA COST. That is rare and SO appreciated. Thank you! That said, the menu is full of delicious and unique pizzas, including a mac & cheese pizza. I ordered the prosciutto arugula with goat cheese and it did not disappoint. They also have a salad menu with tons of great options. The bruschetta salad looked really good. Quick Fire serves wine and beer in addition to pop, tea, etc. All pizzas are wood fired in an oven out in the open. The restaurant is an ideal location in the heart of downtown Stillwater. It's a little bit spendy but it is high quality 'za. I think the sky is the limit with pizza and I will definitely be back when in the area! read more

Some are a bit pricey, but they seem to have a reasonable daily special. I had the sausage and mushroom for $6.99. Lots of cheese, high quality mushrooms, and what seemed to be upscale sausage. Wish they had Parmesan shakers available as well as olive oil bottles, like Punch pizza does. This is very good pizza and I hope it makes it. Best in the cities? We picked QuickFire Pizza when other restaurants were full, and we were very happy we ended up there! The pizzas and salads are so good. Build your own, or choose from one of their creations, big enough to share, and get a salad too. Pulled pork, BBQ sauce, slightly hot peppadew peppers, fresh pineapple. I like my woodfire pizza slightly on the well done side, they nailed it. The pizza is good but a little pricy. A personal pizza runs $10+. Pretty good atmosphere but what gives it two stars is the owner/head-chef. Simply put the guy is a jerk. The ice-machine was not working. When my wife and I made him aware he looked at us like we had two heads and mumbled. Then he mopes around the place like it has a stench. Look, I am sure that the owner thinks he is hot stuff because maybe he went to the Cordon Blue institute and was a head-chef in Minneapolis but these are not reasons to be a jerk. It isn't that the pizza here is bad it's just that it concerned us that they put their hands in all the toppings without wearing gloves. The guy making our pizza had dirty fingernails although we did watch him wash his hands. He also had a sore on his hand. If, like me, you prefer your pizza NOT overloaded with goopy toppings, Quickfire's offerings are a welcome change from most of the other pizzas available in Stillwater. The line-up-and-order routine at Quickfire would be fine if it wasn't crowded, but I went in to buy five pizzas to carry out, and I would have hated to be in line behind me (and the party behind me that ordered four.) It's nice that they have the wood-fired oven. Actual cooking time was pretty quick. A good woodfire pizza should have a bit of charring on the edges, but my pizzas were all on the burned side. Quickfire's pizzas are not on par with real Neapolitan pizzas like those at Brick's, Pizza Nea, or Punch. I wouldn't make a special trip to Quickfire, but if I am in the mood for pizza in Stillwater I will go again. read more
