So as someone who really likes pizza but needs dairy free or friendly options, I was very excited to try Randy's! And I'm already pumped to come back! Randy's offers gluten free dairy free/friendly pizza options. It's thin crust pizza and not greasy! Also they pack on the toppings! I don't think I've ever seen so much pepperoni on a slice before! We ordered a large gluten free crust with a few toppings and it fed 3 people. I decided to try the cauliflower crust. I went with goat cheese instead of mozzarella. The cauliflower crust was absolutely delicious but there is cheese in it (probably why it was delicious!). If you're lactose intolerant, you'll either have to choose suffering or go with the regular crust. I went with a small and ate the entire thing myself. I don't even feel bad about it. Toppings are fresh. We ordered online and drove over for pick up. If it's not quite ready, they will let you know and bring it out to your car. The pizza is spendy though so be prepared for a hefty bill if you need to order a couple of pizzas. read more

I am a long time customer of Randy's and I don't have enough good things to say about the quality of the products! I especially love the frozen pizzas to have on hand at home. Definitely the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. His other products such as the fish are great too! I highly recommend to anyone with celiac disease or needing gluten free pizza. The food is so good and I so very much appreciate that it's celiac-safe. I can't emphasize that enough. This could be my absolute favorite place for pizza, even if it is a 25-minute drive for me. The service? I'm not lying when I say I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. I saw the notes to order online, but the website wasn't functioning properly and I couldn't scroll through parts of the menu or add anything to my cart. So I innocently thought I could explain and place my order in person and wait. Nope. The owner (I assume) scolded me, referred to himself as being short staffed and "in a war zone." Said I could wait and they'd take my order when they could. I said it's fine if we're not welcome and left. He followed me out to my car, trying to explain how busy he was and again repeated something about being in a war zone. But never apologized or calmed down. He did give me a free frozen pizza, which I took as an attempt at an apology (and it was SO GOOD), but honestly, I've never felt actually harassed at a restaurant before this. I've never been one to say the customer is always right, but it seems like here they don't have a chance. We drove back to Minneapolis and had questionably-safe pizza from our local shop. Where we felt 100% welcomed. If I can work up the courage I'll order the food again (a Celiac has got to eat and safe options are few!) and try to be obedient at pick up. But I very much hope this man's employees are okay and treated well. And that he can calm down and find some joy and a business model that works for him. This popped up on my FB page and I saw a photo of a Detroit pizza. Unfortunately they don't offer it yet and it's only the thin crust. I was advised to try the sausage. It was very good advice. A great pizza sauce. I got a 10" since it's just me on New Year's Eve. Jessie was super helpful to me and told me I could just order from my car. I love how they carry local MN craft sodas. I got the Northern brand Due North lemon lime and a rootbeer. Love the cane sugar instead of the high fructose junk. Believe me I'll be making that call for the deep dish. My husband and his friends wanted to do Randy's pizza challenge so they picked a weekend and went for it! I was a little bummed thinking this would probably be the last pizza my husband would be eating for a while, so while they had the challenge pizza I ordered one of my own- Sicilian on thin crust. Very good, fresh toppings- one of the few pizza joint that have fresh basil as a topping. A 10" specialty was a bit expensive at $16, but manageable. A nice touch for eat in orders is a free basket of garlic bread sticks (yum). The place is TINY and the challenge pizza (30" pizza, 4 people, 30 minutes) + a couple spectators took up all the space - this place is probably best for take out. The challenge....was a challenge! They didn't finish, but IMO did great - in the end I think there were 9 squares left. They went strong to start but hit a wall with about 10 minutes left. The pizza was very saucy and messy which I think made it harder. Bummer! Oh- the staff were great! Super friendly - telling us about other challengers and making sure everyone was well watered and stocked with napkins. I wish we could have seen them toss the pizza dough - I bet it's impressive! I just recently moved to MN and had a friend visiting with me who is celiac. She found Randy's pizza while looking for gluten free options in the area. What a nice surprise to find that not only are they gluten free, their facility is completely wheat free! Randy was very generous to offer my friend some gluten free waffle mix which she could take back with her when she went home. The owner's passion for his cooking is highly relevant and he is very hands on in the business. The pizza is amazing with a thickly reduced homemade spaghetti sauce packing it with huge flavor while you get to enjoy more of the cheese and ingredients with the thin and crispy crust. The pizza here is phenomenal. I can't have gluten and have missed decent pizza. To know that there isn't a risk of cross contamination is SO great. We had the pizza sticks which came complimentary when you dine in and they were so delicious. My best friend is not only GF but also dairy and egg free for medical reasons and she said that this is by FAR the best pizza that she's had in years (since her diagnosis). My kids couldn't get enough of the appetizer! We finished the meal off with a "pizza cookie". It was basically a large pizza cut up like a pizza. I haven't had a warm and GOOD chocolate chip cookie in years since having to go GF. Unfortunately it was incredibly slow service and untrained staff. Pizza is a personal thing. I used to watch in amazement as a friend of mine would worry and fret about how to deal with the part of the pizza crust that didn't have toppings on it. Double-u tee eff? You eat it, Clyde. Damn. When I bake a frozen pizza at home, I bake that bad boy until it's mother wouldn't recognize it. It comes out brown. If you like "well done" Klingon pizza then you and I are pizza brothers and will enter Stovokor together (for the pizza). If you like mild, Federation-familiar pizza with nothing new or disturbing, with the cheese just barely melted and the crust soft as a baby's butt, then you and I are not on the same pizza planet. I spit thee out of my mouth. Get thee behind me. I like my pizza to fight back and die in a glorious spasm of spice. Randy's pizza does that. The pizza is rockin' in a way that gives "rockin'" back its original meaning, which involved things that millennials and their Chucky Cheese pizza-eating toddlers should avoid at all costs. So watch it. Here be flavor. The service is also outstanding. They don't give you a glass of water. These men (these are men) offer up their entire water supply and say "help yourself." Damn. The Highland Grill could learn a thing or two about hospitality from these guys. What makes this place specialest of all is its hidden status. I like having the place to myself, but I worry about its future. The sign out by the road is awful and looks like you made it. The sign actually has the wrong name on it, and the store itself barely has a sign. Guys--get the signs right. You need some new signs. Big ones. I don't want my favorite pizza place to go out of business. Get some signs. All in all, the best pizza experience I have had in years. AND it's gluten free. How great is that? read more

we have order several times out orders tend to be 50plus! over priced cons it's small and half the time u don't get what u ordered and when u notify of a probl the owner is rude. then posts on Fb any one wanna try gf pizza egg rolls text his number first two, texts me telling me I can get them but I have to come get them , I am disabled and with out a ride wouldn't have texted if he didnt say he was deliverin. then I ask him if his restaurant was still open and would of order a pizza delivery so that they could come with it. then he talks down to me tell me they don't have delivery only pick up then why are u posting on Fb that there is deliver everywhere and on Ute website absolutely don't trust this over priced mean pizza owner r, that takes no responsibility for his actions and lies. and when he corrected his mistake in food but then I had to drive 23 min each way because I had rock hard fries fish without batter and over cooked and hard, told me he would fix it but I quote need to post publi how much I loved the new one. and the new one was okay not the best and the first one wasn't even the fries I ordered. and twice now I have had pep on my pineapple and don't eat pork, and hubb had PinneApple on his pizza and can't eat that. twice I have order the cheese stick with sausage and not gotten the sausage. the owner needs to learn not to lie and loose his attitude and pay more attention to cooking correctly the experimenting new foods. and maybe be responsible and if u say ur gonna reliever once u tell ur customer ur gonna then u should show ur butt up, or proof read. It was amazing just to be able to take my Celiac family members out for dinner. However, the food here is actually delicious! We will be back many, many times. The service was really friendly - Randy himself checked on us several times. The dining area is relatively small, but it wasn't an issue for us on a weeknight. I really enjoy getting pizza from Randys. I have had Randy's pizza at other locations, and the food and pizza isn't nearly as good as it is at this location. They are definitely doing something special at this location because once you've had it, you want to go back the next day. They're wedged in the back corner of a long building right off century and across from caribou. It's very easy to find and parking is good. On the inside, it's a little small. If you wanted to dine in, you may have to wait.. but it is worth the wait. I promise. Take out is fast. Their pizzas are phanomenal and they use fresh ingredients. They have great sauce. It's not too spicy. The price is moderate, but worth it. Their customer service is key. They are great with their customers and are very friendly. They also engage with the community quite a bit and offer giveaways on their Facebook page. Randy is very friendly with his customers and you can tell he really appreciates you. read more

I typically order out from here at least once a week, love their pizza and my husband loves their sandwiches. However. After our last experience I left very disappointed in the business. We ordered out, and as usual were quoted 55 to 75 minute wait for delivery, its a pretty long time but we are happy to wait for delicious food. After waiting over an hour and a half, I called to see what the status was. I was transferred to a manager who said it would be here soon, offered no apology, and seemed quite annoyed I asked. I was looking for a good pizza joint to go and meet up with Mike at, and dropped Aaron a quick line to get his suggestions. Based on our target area near North St. Paul, he said we needed to go to Randy's Premier Pizza. He thought the idea sounded good, so he joined us as well. If you've never been to, or ordered from Randy's, I can assure you that you're missing some of the best pizza on the East side of the cities. While primarily a take-out pie shop, they do have a few tables in the back if you care to dine in. They have a cooler with various non-alcoholic beverages in it, and Mike and I chose the classic Orange Crush in the glass bottle and placed an order while we waited for Aaron to show up. Mike ordered a pizza with spinach and artichoke on it, and I ordered a pepperoni pizza for Aaron and I to split. Soon after, an order of Italian Bread Sticks arrived, which is listed as an Italian crust with garlic. We dug into that, and made short work of it. Randy dropped in on us to see how we're doing, and since Aaron is a regular there, they caught up on life for a few minutes, and then he returned to his post behind the counter making pies. Shortly after we finished the bread, our pies came out and they both looked delicious. Not being a fan of the veggies like Mike, I didn't try his, but just the presentation alone was enough to confirm that this was indeed a good pizza. His pizza was smothered in cheese, and fresh ingredients. Both pizzas were ordered with the hand tossed crust, and I could see that the edge of the crusts were proportional to the different size of the pizza, but both were plump and inviting. The pepperoni pizza arrived and I noticed that it too was covered in cheese, which had a good amount of pepperoni tucked underneath. When we pulled out our slices, the cheese was plentiful and stringy between the slices. My impression after the first few bites was nothing less than stellar. The blend of the cheese and pepperoni and sauce was an excellent blend, and none of the ingredients over powered another. The sauce had a slight zing to it, and left me waiting for the next bite. The pepperoni was tasty, bold, but not to detract from the rest of the pizza. The crust was a bit limp towards the center, but not in a bad way, it was what I had expected. The closer you got towards the end the more flavorful the crust became. The crust is made fresh, not frozen like you might find at some other pizza shops, which I feel can make or break a pizza experience. If your crust is bland and soggy, overpowering or crackle thin, it will turn me off. If I want a thin crust, I'll order it. The hand-tossed crust I ordered was right on the mark. Partway thru our meal, Randy brought out some Pizza Fries. Aaron wasted no time on digging into these tasty morsels. It's the garlic crust, loaded with cheese and cut into strips with dipping sauce. The three of us made short work of these and went back to our pizzas. We were getting full, but I didn't mind, I was able to stuff another slice of this great pizza in before calling defeat and boxing up about 1/2 the pizza to take home. Randy dropped by again to ensure our meal was OK, and we assured him it was with full mouths! He noted that he was going to be adding a wood-fired oven in the spring, so I will sure come back to check that out. Randy's also offers some larger pizzas, from 30 up to 48 and also a pizza challenge to eat the 30 pizza in 30 minutes. The bill for for pizzas and drinks came to 37.50 + tip, which split across the three of us, was certainly an excellent value for the meal. We used to love Randy's pizza. Two things have changed. The gluten free crust is terrible. Best described as "tough". Also, they have reduced the amount of meat they add to their pizza's. We normally order a pizza with one type of meat not two. We used to enjoy their sausage pizzas. With the last two pizza's we ordered we found that there was so little meat it was a joke. I called and was told they put the exact amount of meat on all there pizzas so I must be mistaken. Here's my take on this. We are paying, on average, double the amount you would pay for other local pizzas. Management may be able hide the fact that there is a small amount of sausage on a pizza because so many people order sausage and pepperoni pizzas. But isolated, a SINGLE MEAT pizza, shows an incredible SHORTAGE OF MEAT. What galls me is the self righteous opinions you get from the owners if you make a complaint. They hide behind a matter of fact statement that, "We put the same amount meat on each pizza." What a joke. In closing, they used to be one of the best local pizza joints. We paid plenty to enjoy the exceptional pizza and we went to Randy's exclusively. What I see in reviews are lots of complementary comments. BUT LOOK AT THE DATES you see that the MAJORITY OF COMPLIMENTARY REVIEWS ARE OLD. If you're sales are still high at Randy's I'm happy for you.
