I first hired Mr. Don Bonfiglio three years ago. He placed a large outside light to illuminate a 200 year-old oak tree in my backyard. He had to change the outside outlet and run the electric under the deck and under the ground to the light. I have lived here my whole life and with the addition of this light it feels like a new back yard. He had performed such remarkable job that I asked him if he could also help me change the florescent lighting boxes into updated canned lighting in my basement. Not only did he change out the lighting he also rebuild my ceiling tiles from 2x4 tiles to 2x2 tiles which of course changed the entire look of my tired, outdated basement. He designed the entire plan and the execution exceeded my expectations. He is very dynamic and hard-working and trustworthy. He is also passionate at work. He was very clean and careful in my home. I called Donatello Electric and left a message on a Sunday and got a call that afternoon from the owner Don. He spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with me listening to the issues I was having with what appeared to be a serious situation with several Kitchen outlets. He put my mind at ease and although they were very busy due to my stress level he fit me into the schedule in one day. Mike (one of his Electricians) came to my home on time. Listened to my issue and began working. He had such a positive attitude and made me feel like there was nothing I could put in front of him that he couldn't tackle and accomplish. While at my home Mike found some additional serious issues with my Main panel and they will be addressing those as well. They were quick to call me back and schedule an appointment. The electricians showed up on time when they said they would. They worked all out for 5 straight hours. There was no milking the clock or laziness at all. The finished product of my two new installed lighting fixtures looked amazing. The best and most important part of the whole process was that the electricians working stopped multiple times at key points in the installation to 1. explain what they were doing (which I greatly appreciated) and 2. they always double checked with me on what I wanted before they made it final (ie: where to cut the whole in the ceiling, how high I wanted the lights, which outlet I wanted the lights to go to ect). I'll go back to these guys in a heartbeat the next time I need work done on my place. read more

I decided to give Donatello Electric a call after finding them on home adviser - they were the only ones who called me back promptly. I was afraid the job was not going to go well because the house was over 80 years old and I knew the 60 amp service (9) fuse boxes were old and blowing out frequently. We expected an overall estimate for the revamping of the entire house because of the condition. However, Donatello worked with me for over 1.75 hours to figure out a solution to bring the house into current code standards, moving to 100 amp service, and while still staying on budget!!! Highly recommend! We had the electrical work in our basement completely removed and re-installed with updated track lighting. Electrical outlets and light switches were also moved to more convenient places in the space. They were on time and did what they said they would do each day. The final price was just as what was quoted at the beginning of the job. Most importantly, they did what we asked them to do without trying to upsell or talk us into something else. We called Donatello Electric this morning about an intermittent problem with our lights dimming. Rick listened to my husband's description of the problem, asked a few questions and then told him to call Com Ed as it sounded like a problem with outside wiring. Rick said if the problem wasn't solved by Com Ed to call back and he would schedule a technician to trouble shoot the problem. 2 hours later Com Ed found a defective neutral switch at the pole and replaced it. Professional integrity! Called for service with power outage in 50% of house. Spoke with Don who advised contacting Com Ed first before hiring an electrician to determine if the problem was on their end. It took patience (and luck) to schedule Com Ed service on a Saturday. Com Ed did show up and rewired an outside connection. Don was very generous with his time outside normal business hours and even called back to check with me.
