Las alcapurrias estaban deliciosas y frescas. El servicio fue muy eficiente. El ambiente muy caribeño. Las mesas para comer limpias. Y un poco de música en el fondo. Esta al cruzar de la playa. El precio esta super cómodo. Y sombra para tapar nos del sol. La decoración da para unas bonitas fotos
My friends and I had just arrived in Puerto Rico and were excited to kick off our trip with some authentic frituras in Piñones. Unfortunately, this spot left us completely disappointed. We were seated by a waiter who initially seemed fine, but things quickly went downhill. We clearly ordered two of each fritura listed on the menu--alcapurrias, bacalaítos, pinchos, and papa rellenas--along with parcha juice and two alcoholic drinks. As native Spanish-speaking Hispanics from New York, we communicated clearly and politely in Spanish. What we got instead? Three plates of pastelitos--with no explanation of what was inside. We had to guess and smell to figure out the fillings, which turned out to include seafood (something not all of us eat). Thinking the rest of our order was still on the way, one of my friends approached the waiter--who was now sitting at the counter--to ask about the rest of the frituras. He dismissively told us that the pastelitos were the frituras we ordered, despite the fact that the menu clearly lists several distinct frituras, and pastelitos are not all of them. To make matters worse, we weren't even given plates or utensils. When we tried to clarify the issue, the waiter became rude and condescending, insisting he had fulfilled the order. At that point, we had enough. We paid our bill and left--$80 for 12 pastelitos, of which we only ate 5 due to the mystery fillings and poor service. Avoid this place if you're looking for authentic food, good service, or even basic respect. Totally misleading, overpriced, and disappointing
After a long tour of San Juan with still more to go and see before going back on the Carnival Celebration, my family stopped at Donde Olga for some snacks and refreshments. It was a hot day in San Juan, the first thing we wanted to get was some ice cold sodas. The way the restaurant operates is that you get in line to order at the counter and place your order, this is not a sit-down restaurant. The service during the ordering part is rather quick, even with the amount of regular customers it gets and the busload from our tour. We quickly got our sodas; it was a whole other thing when ordering the empanada for my brother. We sat down to wait for the empanada. We waited and waited, 20 minutes later we were still waiting. The tour guide had to go complain after we did as the restaurant has an understanding with the tour that they are supposed to get the food out quicker to them. Looks like there was some mix-up. My brother enjoyed the empanada, I did not like being served last and well after the entire tour group.
A picturesque ocean drive from Carolina to Loíza where you can enjoy local dining experiences and practice what Puerto Ricans call chinchorreo Another restaurant in the same line- clean, lots of seating options.. we were there around 3 PMish. We settled down, waiting for some server, but nobody came for taking the order so we ordered at a kiosk in the queue (order/receipt, then they call your name kind of system). though we had Bacalaito and arepa at other joints, we tried the same to see what flavor we get here. oily- yes, but yeah it's fine sometimes. food was fresh, yummy. Try to have their local drinks which they recommend -it's good. Alcapurrias - cylindrical deep-fried mass of grated yautía, yuca, and green plantains, and filled with crabmeat, beef, or chicken Bacalaito - Another Piñones staple is this iconic codfish fritter. You can find it anywhere in Puerto Rico, but nowhere as crunchy as in Piñones and Empanadas- Everyone knows what it is
This was really some authentic food. Be prepared to be sitting semi outside. There's a small parking lot out front and a lot of tables you can sit at. We came during the day so there weren't many people there yet. We were told the fish was fresh that day so that's exactly what we had ordered. It was delicious and seasoned to perfection as the skin was extra crispy yet not overly salty. The rice was good and it came with a side of salad. Something so simple but so good as it made me feel and realize that I'm on the island finally! The only downfall was it was super hot/humid - no AC or fans and there were a whole bunch of flies. But the food here is excellent especially the alcapurria and empanadas. I would recommend if you are coming for the good eats!
Great service and great food! We ordered from the premade food and not off the menu. The crab and beef corn meal fritters were delicious and tasty! The real winner though was the chicken kabobs. That was so tender and so moist. With BBQ sauce it was extremely flavorful. The staff are very welcoming and eager to serve. They have their own glorified parking lot and have a full bar. We did not order the paella but I will say it looked delicious!
Very popular place to eat. Our friend took us here to try it. I personally didn't like it because too much fried food but my family loved it. So you order the food/pay first than the receipt you get you give it to the cook. Than when the food is ready you pick up your food. There is picnic tables were you can sit down and eat.

Ordered a Pollo al Ajillo to go. Knowing we would not see this until getting home, the cook was incompetent and did a terrible job. Chicken is badly cooked, only has a ton of raw garlic paste and oil. Terrible taste and nothing close to what they serve at the restaurant normally. Owner should be ashamed of this terrible practice. read more

The place was nicely setup to meet Covid rules. Temperature was measured and everything was wiped out after every guest. The food was ok. It was my birthday that day, so they really have me a lot of attention, which i appreciated very much. read more

Nice place on the beach serving fast food. Bacalaito was amazing, super crispy. Chicken on the stick (pinchos de pollo) was too sweet for me as I am not a big fan of barbeque sauce. Overall, the fast food in Puerto rico was oily/deep fried. read more

Outstanding!!!!!! we had Bacalaitos (Cod Fish Fritter), Alcapurria de Jueyes (Crab Fritter), Octopus Salad, Conch Salad, Shrimp Salad, Asopao de Mariscos (Seafood Soup) which contained Red Snapper, Octopus, Conch, Shrimp, Clams and Scoops of Rice. The service service was very good. Order at the counter and keep your tab open because you'll order more. Following the order you'll have table service. We loved it so much we came a second time. A must visit. read more
This place is in a great location close to the beach. This place has a nice chill vibe to it with a great beach breeze. The alcapurrias are delicious. I had the crab which was good but I enjoyed the beef more. I didn't taste the crab much but the beef was juicy and delicious. Definitely try it with the hot sauce, makes it that much more enjoyable. You would think that it would be greasy since it's fried but it wasn't at all on top of it being made fresh. The pina colada wasn't that great, had to much of a watered down milk taste and wasn't slush enough. This place is beyond affordable. The staff is 100% good people. read more
yelp has the open time as 8 am, but it's actually 10 am, fyi. had to grab some street food before leaving the island. i have heard such great things about donde olga from IG and youtube. came back at 10 and grabbed some alcapurria (1 each of crab and meat), a bacalaito, and a pionono. i meant to get a relleno de papas, but i got the gist of the idea. there was only one employee there and it being a wednesday, it was super slow. the food was hot and fresh, it just was very greasy and heavy. i really didn't care for the alcapurria-it was very dough like and the carne didn't have much flavor. the bacalaito was good-crunchy and a little salty. i enjoyed it. i read other reviews that referenced hot sauce, but we didn't see any and no one offered it to us. we chased our food down with a couple of beers and we were done. the birds were landing all over the tables and the food preparation area and some of the buckets where the food was marinating/waiting to be cooked. also, the cook dropped a ladle on the floor and didn't wash it off. just a heads up, the prices are not posted anywhere, but everything was reasonably priced! read more

A bit confusing at first. Gigantic sign said "Order Here" yet I stood there several minutes before the guy motioned me to go around to the other side of the counter to order. Once me order was paid for, I had to take the receipt to another station for my order to be made then wait till I hear my name called. Other than that, the food was hot and the taste was not what I expected in a good way. I had #AlcapurriasdeJueyes { stuffed fritter} & #Bacalaitos {Fried Codfish Fritter} with a Sprite and a bottle of water all for $7. Can't beat that read more

This place was delicious. I highly recommend the arroz con abichuelas. Tasted just like my grandma's. We got the papa rellena (this wasn't my favorite. Tasted like it was missing something like green olives or sofrito), the acapurria de huey, the bacalaito frito, the empanada de camarones, a piña colada and a diet coco rico. It was so good. Only gave it a 4 because I didn't like the papa rellena and I was really looking forward to it. read more
[ Visited in December, 2010 ] Stop for lunch at Donde Olga's on your scenic drive along PR-187 and you would be disappointed! From fantastic, wholly-deep-fried seafood greatness to Puerto Rican delights, you will not be disappointed. There's ample parking out front, just watch out for the roosters or chickens crossing the road. read more

Just made our third trip to Puerto Rico and made our third visit to Donde Olga. This is now our go-to tradition: get off the plane, get a car, go to Olga's. Nothing like hot empanadas, rellenos de papa and pinchos de pollo after a long flight. The food is good and very reasonably priced. We love Donde Olga! read more

OMG I love pinchos and this place does not disappoint!!!! Pinchos cooked in front of you on the grill, as well as alcapurrias, bacailitos etc. I got a plate of chicken bbq pinchos which come with a side of bread...I also added a side of rice and beans which were delicious!!!! I even went back the next day and got more pinchos! The sauces that they have out on the tables are amazing especially the Mayo ketchup. They have all kinds of canned drinks and beer for sale. They accept cards as well as cash. Ample parking and clean bathrooms read more

This is the best Puerto Rican food in the metropolitan area and possibly the entire island. The snapper is prepared grilled, Fried, or baked and either way you can't go wrong. The fried and sweet plantains are off the chain as are the conch and shrimp salads. The coco frío is sublime. Not to mention that the service is top notch, the place is spotless, and the music is just perfect. I grew up in Puerto Rico and believe me I've been to hundreds of restaurants in the area and this is by far the best. Don't miss it. read more

The best meal that I had in Puerto Rico!! We ordered the Creole shrimp w/ rice, grilled charascco , seafood taco, and beef empanada. Everything was super delicious and flavorful. The star was the grilled charassco- the meat was melt in your mouth, well marinated and drizzled with garlic sauce. The total bill was about $40, plus the $15 it took to get over to that part of town, however the meal was well worth it. read more

Come here for some really authentic PR food! My friend and I had piña coladas and a mofongo de Chicharron de pollo (chicken) here and both were very good. There's plenty of food options, the service was good and the food came out very quickly. Our waitress was super sweet, we really liked her. Drinks & dinner for 2 was $31! Can't beat the price, especially for such generous portions. read more

One of the better kiosks in piñones! NEVER DISAPPOINTS. The crab alcappurias and rellenos de papa are so good you will have to order more than one! Didn't care too much for the empanadas because the alcappurias hit the spot. Super good for price point and location is just at the beginning of the drive through area! Love this place. Will need to go and grab some before I head off back home read more
