Our party was staying at the El Conquistador resort on our way to the El Yunque Forest for site seeing and hiking and wanted to fuel up before heading out for lunch. We had a craving for Mofongo and this place popped up up on the map. First impression was that this place was a nice cozy eatery and you can tell the cooks in the back make everything home style so we had a feeling were in for a treat. We all ordered the Chicken Mofongo with a side salad and it was just absolutely delicious! It was only $10 and the portions were very generous and filling. We were all very full once we finished our meal. Those who venture here might want to brush up on their Spanish as all menu items were listed in Spanish with no English translations. However, there were pictures on the wall for most items so you could just point to what you wanted and the cashier would understand what you want to order if there was any language barrier. Great place to eat and convenient to reach just outside the resorts and the rain forest. read more

The food in this place is probably the worst food I've eaten in my entire life. If you want Chinese food go to a Chinese restaurant. If you want Puerto Rican food go to a Puerto Rican restaurant. Our initial thoughts were that the prices did not match this hole-in-the-wall diner, but when we actually tried the food, we were pleasantly surprised! It was delicious! I decided on the Mofongo stuffed with garlic pulpo (octopus) because the lady upfront told us the pulpo is caught fresh, cleaned, and braised in-house. Well I definitely wasn't disappointed by this dish. Flavorful, moist, garlicky, light, and seasoned perfectly. The Mofongo was filled to the brim with pulpo, and more piled on top. The Mofongo packed a lot of flavor and was not over fried. Other dishes I tasted were the pulpo salad version, which is sort of like ceviche, Puerto Rican-style creole chicken, and tostones. Atmosphere is very casual, you place your order and pick it up when they call your name. We would visit again! read more

This a perfect place. Not expensive and delicious prepare meat. Everything fresh. Nice and friendly staff. Always clean and there is parking. The staff speaks English. Ate there several times and will definitely return again. I highly recommend that you try the lobster. read more

Stay away from this restaurant. We went there hoping to eat great Puerto Rican food, and we were thrilled to dig in, until my Mom found a hair in her food. I asked the staff to remove the cost of my Mom's lunch from our bill and they declined to do so. As soon as I sat back down to finish my lunch I food foil in my food. This place was recommended by the valet parking attendant in our hotel. We wanted somewhere that we could have anything- seafood, mofongo, churrasco, and "puertorrican Chinese". Yes, puertorrican Chinese is different than all others. The asopao was very good, the chicken chicharrones were very nice. And the fried meat was very juicy and nicely seasoned. This is a local, informal, counter-service restaurant. They serve big portions at great prices. The food is tasty and enjoyable.They keep the place clean and the decor and staff are pleasant. Nice view of El Yunque, easy to get to. We had beef lo main, fried chicken, and orange beef. Each could have easily been split between 2 average appetites. I ate at the Punto Latino in RioGrande not far from Melia Coco Beach. I have been here for few days and i will say you will not leave hungry. The menu is english and Spanish. Great food great service. Lady at counter spoke some english and was great. I will return. read more

Your order at the counter and can either eat there, or take it to go. They nicely had a menu with Spanish on one side and English on the other. We knew it was going to be good based on how many locals were eating there. The amount of food you get for the price is phenomenal. $10 for a huge chicken breast, generous portion of rice, and puertorican style beans. It was delicious and hit the spot. Fast food in Puerto Rico. You get a lot of food for the price but the food isn't too good. It's also like Chinese and Hispanic food which is odd to me but the place was packed. The mofongo was bland and the arepa tasted like wet paper.....we just got off a plane so we were desperate. Also went into the bathroom and there was no soap and it just looked gross so that always makes me wonder how much employees wash their own hands (cue horror film music) if you want my 2 cents there's a Taco Bell within a mile, give that a shot. read more
