I'd see IM&H while driving up and down Gallatin so looked them up and popped in. Hear me know friends-believe the hype and good vibes dropped by previous sweet citizens who stopped in for their auto needs. The shop is clean, the staff is friendly and depending on the crowd you can get in and out super quick. My total time in the shop had to be less than 40 minutes, and I enjoyed some friendly banter with the shop owner and a Crane Operator from AL who was getting his truck taken care of in the other bay. Fast Forward a couple of days I I heard some rattling from the undercarriage. I stopped back by and the guys took care of a heat shield that had come lose. A quick spot weld and I was on my way-no charge! These guys are great, you won't be disappointed. I recommend them fully.

He has the sophisticated diagnostic equipment to identify the problem and the advanced mechanical expertise to fix it. However, he is expensive and adds some gratuitous fees. Cost for 2-hour diagnostic assessment to identify faulty crankshaft sensor was $133.90/hr x 2 = $267.80 plus $50 service charge for total of $317.80 ($348.79 with tax). Cost for installation of new crankshaft sensor was $58.81 for the sensor, $130.00 for 1 hour of labor plus another $50 service charge for total of $238.81 ($262.09 with tax). I offered to pay with cash. Roberts said he preferred a credit card. However, he did not tell me there was a $31.96 "noncash adjustment/credit card fee.". There was also a $22.86 fee for mobile supplies. Altogether, the cost for diagnosis of faulty crankshaft sensor and replacement with a new one was $671.01. In addition to parts and labor, this included two $50 service charges, a $31.96 "noncash adjustment/credit card fee", a $22.86 mobile supplies fee and tax on the extra charges and fees. Since the final billing amount included 9.75% tax, the credit should have been for $54.88. I did check the "terms and conditions " on your website again to be sure that I hadn't overlooked anything. According to your website, you charge $130.00/hr for diagnostics. However, I was charged $133.90/hr. The amount of overcharge was $7.80 for two hours plus 0.76 tax = $8.56. Your website says nothing about a charge of $22.86 for mobile supplies that was added to my bill. Including tax, the amount of overcharge was $22.86 + $2.23 = $25.09. Your website also says nothing about a 5% "noncash adjustment / credit card fee" for paying with a credit card in lieu of cash. Including tax, the amount of overcharge was $31.96 + $3.12 = $35.08. So, the total outstanding overcharges are $4.88 + $8.56 + $25.09 + $35.08 = $73.61. By the way, I don't happen to think these oversights were intentional on your end. Rather, the software that you're using for billing appears to be much lower in quality than the sophisticated diagnostic software that you use to identify mechanical problems in motor vehicles. My car was with them for 5 business days, during which they only worked on it for 3 to 4 hours and failed to fully repair it. Scheduling an appointment feels pointless. I booked a diagnostic test for my main and auxiliary batteries 3 days ahead of a Thursday appointment. I confirmed the appointment the day before. When I dropped it off Thursday morning, I was assured I'd receive an update "maybe after lunch time." By the end of the day, I received no update from them and when I stopped by the shop, I could see that my vehicle had been untouched. I reiterated my need for the car by Monday, and they said they'd try to look into it the next day. On Friday, I sent a polite reminder and received a curt response saying they prioritize repairs as they arrive. It became clear that appointments are just window dressing. They finally completed the battery replacement on Friday but then found what they believed was an issue causing a battery drain, requiring more diagnostics. A delay in identifying that problem extended my car's time with them. By end of day the following Monday, I had heard nothing from them. On Tuesday, I asked for an update and was promised to be provided a status update before end of day, but they failed to provide any kind of update. On Wednesday, I pressed for an update again, reminding them of the delays. They finally had a tech spend a couple more hours doing diagnostics but still couldn't pinpoint the issue and stated they would need more time (and money) to troubleshoot. After 5 days and minimal progress, I decided to retrieve my vehicle. A nearby Mercedes dealership charged me for diagnostics and found NO issues! Given my experience, I do not trust this shop for future work. They've lost my business and have shown a troubling lack of efficiency and a customer centric focus. From previous reviews, I've noticed that the shop's ownership likes to debate negative reviews (and they get the last word). I've provided all the facts accurately and if Yelp allowed more space for reviews, I'd give you even more details. For potential customers: be wary. They treat new customers poorly, break promises and take too long to perform basic maintenance. Save yourself the hassle--go elsewhere.

The "waiting room," if you want to call it that, is an old car bench seat in the office, and you might have to share that with the resident dog. Their location isn't high traffic or convenient. It's out of town, next to a rock quarry and where they park the school buses in Franklin. They don't do any fancy ads or claim any special promos, and if you need a shuttle - you might have to arrange that in conjunction with school schedules and who is doing the lunch run. But if you want a trustworthy mechanic, who earns a fair and honest living for himself and his employees, but isn't driving a big fancy car and living in a McMansion, then this is your place. Hubby and I have had work done on each of our cars over the years, and I've referred several local friends over the years, and have never been disappointed.
