What a cool Vietnamese grocery store. For a store of its size, I was very impressed with their extensive inventory. There is a LOT to see! I had never seen so many different flavored and colored rice papers and it was very cool. So many different types of noodles my goodness. They also have ready made foods and snacks. The spicy beef noodle soup with all the trimmings looked really good and it was only $9! I was kinda shocked at the inventory of meat cleavers of so many different sizes. They also carry cookware, bowls, plates, utensils and even a fireless cupping therapy kit. Hubby got a kick out of the long cooking chopsticks. This store definitely provided a new learning experience for exploring Vietnamese food and culture. Not the newest cleanest Asian grocery store but has a good selection and is well stocked. read more

I was going to visit my childhood home and meet the wonderful Asian family who bought it. I didn't want to go empty handed so I stopped in Dong A2. I had no idea what gift would be appropriate to bring. A very nice lady behind the counter asked if she could help me. I told her my situation. She went directly to the boxes of fresh fruit. She said any would work, but rambutan is a specialty. So I bought a flat. I was very appreciative of her help. The store was very clean, friendly with lots of shoppers. The rambutan was a huge success! There was lots of foods to choose from. Private parking too. I will go back to Dong A2. read more

Okay, move over MD, I think I've found my new Asian market! There is parking in the front as well in the back. This is very near the big MD in Pinellas. The store is big but has very tight spaces so keep that in mind but I don't mind because there is fresh Vietnamese prepared foods from bun Bo hue to spring rolls. It's endless! I got their banh cuon fresh made noodles too and I mean, the selection here is so much more! Very close other big oriental supermarket. Some of my friend like this place due to great price and good amount of veggies. Thankfully they open during pandemic. They do control amount of people can enter the store to avoid crowded situations. The store have only basic oriental items. Definitely is local favorite. Not for me who are out of town people. It has item I need. I would said it is good carry on the butcher section for type of meat you want. read more

Dong is a Vietnamese market, but carry products from most Asian cultures and for a small market, have a remarkable inventory! It can definitely feel cramped in the store as the aisles are narrow and the shelves are sometimes overflowing, but with a little bit of patience and stealthy maneuvering, you're likely to find what you're looking for and much more! The produce and Meat is much cheaper than what you'll find at the supermarket and have many things you can only find in an Asian specialty store. They often times open early which is a big plus for me as I usually go on my way home from working the night shift. Staff there are very friendly and have helped me find particular products that I have had trouble finding. MD is still my go to in the area, but this store is a very close second! read more

Earlier today I bought some Pork born marrows in this market because MD market sold out, I usually bought it there. The guy name Anh Hoà who helped me to get it and cut it into small pieces. I saw him slammed the frozen bones into an cardboard box on the floor with some frozen pork bones in there and it bounced back and the bones splashed into the dirty bare floor where he and his có-workers walked back and ford all day. I told him it is very not safe and is not a good hygiene if you do that. I was mad and I told him not to do that and he responded to me by asking this question " Did you wash the meat before you cook?) what the hell? I forget to video his wrong doing at the time. Next time I will video their mishandling the food. It's a warning. I will report your dirty FK to Pinellas Department of health and human service. I mean it. If you don't fix your dirty ass you shouldn't work there. read more

Great Asian market. Usually carries everything that I need. Produce, sauces, staples (RICE), frozen section...Meat counter and a banh mi shop in the back of the store. Come on the weekends - they always have fresh foods (pastries, bun, meats) to go. Pro tip as well: there is parking in the back behind the store. Easier to get in/out of from my experience. With so many great markets in the area, catering mostly to Vietnamese cooks, and United Market just down the street... it is sad to see the limited selection at Dong A 2. While the market location is quite new, the assortment is very basic. I really wanted to purchase some River Prawns to make Tom Kho Tau, four to a box, but for $25.99 it was not worth it. Also, the boxes were torn open and taped shut again. Most of the boxes of frozen shrimp were the same way as well. There is an iced coffee sign out front, but I did not see much of a set-up inside. There were also many pre-made Vietnamese snacks in front for sale, but nothing really stuck out as appealing to me. The cool thing is that there is a Banh Mi shop in the back of the market, staffed by trendy ladies. Also, the seafood and meat butcher area in the back is really clean because the facility is new. I came specifically looking for Coconut and Ube extract to flavor cupcakes, but they did not have either. The market down the street does. However, I'm happy that I came to Dong A 2 to check it out and see what they have to offer. read more

This grocery store is my favorite in the area. Almost all the items I need to cook a Vietnamese dish can be found here. The produce is almost always fresh, although once in a long while I would find old ginger or jicama. The owner is always cheerful and helpful. Don't hesitate to ask if you need help finding something. The meat department is great as well. The guys working there are always cheerful as well. Don't be afraid to point to the piece of meat you want or ask them to pick one out for you. I love this new location because it's bigger and cleaner. I've shopped at Dong A 2 since the first day it opened at the older location. This is my go to Asian market. read more

This mini market seems to be quite popular with a constant stream of people coming in and out. Although I didn't browse the whole market, there seemed to be a little bit of everything you may need from seasoning, canned goods, produce, to prepared foods. Oh. And the heo quay is delish. The meat was tender while skin was crispy and delish. If you head to the back bakery, grab yourself a sugar cane drink. SO CHEAP!!!!! Got over 20 items and the total was 28$, if you ask the owner for help hes glad to help you find what you need and tell you prices. Got everything I needed for a stir fry and for making Thai tea, they even had boba straws!! Got some fresh fried tofu and some young coconut! I have purchased food and fruit there and it was completely bad and I called the store and the guy was rude that he did not care. it was my risk if I bought the food and fruit. He said they don't guarantee if the food is fresh or not. So they would not give me a refund. I told them to take it off the shelf and do not sell to other people since it was bad. When you are in need of getting Asian items to cook, you should stop by here. This location is bigger than their last location. They have a variety of items for Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino and etc cooking. They also have a sandwich and boba shop within the store. If you like sugar cane drink, they make it fresh there. Their seafood is pretty good, with lots of fresh fish in ice. Their meat selection isn't pretty bad itself. Unfortunately their vegetable selection was limited. This one relocated from its original location north of Park Blvd. Their previous landlord, the plaza's owner, decided to open his own grocery store so Dong A 2 was closed down for a few months. I like shopping here, even though Phu Quoc is over at the next plaza, because heir customer service shows that they appreciate your shopping there, unlike most other Asian markets/stores, including Phu Quoc, in town who think they're doing you a favor. Clean store. Have all you need to make an Southeast Asian dishes, and so much more. Coty S.'s review states that there is no iced coffee. There is. The sub/sandwich shop in the back has it. The sandwiches/subs aren't as good as over Phu Quoc's though. In short, has everything Phu Quoc has but much cleaner and not musty. Phu Quoc has better sandwiches. read more

Parking is very little and hard time to get in and out of the parking lot, also parking lot is pretty filthy. Bathroom is also pretty dirty. Has an okay amount of selections. Vegetable and Meat area looks like a failure for an inspection. Only good thing about this place is the to-go foods and vietnamese desert variety in the fridge. read more

This location is pretty new. It used to be in a smaller area on the other side of Park. The selection is pretty standard. The meats look gross. They have Cafe du Monde cheap here--love it! Nice tea selection as well. Most of the food here is processed. They do have good boba however--I would recommend trying it. Came to see the Chinese New Year Lion dance performance...while waiting for the performance, I did a little shopping in the supermarket. They have a large selection of products at a very reasonable price. Staffing were adequate, very helpful & friendly. Very seldom I go into an asian store and see smiley and happy staff. I like this place! I read Cambodian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Chinese....and all these other Asian foods that they carried and I just had to go in. I am glad I did! The best Vietnamese Sandwiches yet! I can't believe how light and crunchy the bread on the sandwich was...maybe it's a Florida thing...We need to make these in California. :-) It doesn't hurt your gums when you bite into it. read more
