I come for the food and it never disappoints The lunch specials are unbeatable especially the curry goat. It's quite surprising to me that the restaurant does not have more traffic. Oxtails had good flavor, the gravy always makes the rice better. Curry goat was good but the gravy made it appear as if there was a lot of meat, gotta do better. Ordered the large oxtail it looked more like a medium. They only serve the small cuts of the oxtail. And even though she drowned my rice and gravy it was still dry. Also we ordered the curry goat which was delicious but again the rice and beans was very dry. Most importantly what made this experience not so good it was the horrible customer service from the woman making the plates. She seemed irritated with everything I asked. And I just wanted to ensure I got the best experience and the best value for my dollar. I've tried almost everything in this restaurant because their location is convenient. Their curried chicken was very raw and bleeding, ackee and saltfish is more filled with salt fish and maybe a spoonful of ackee, all swimming in oil and it's like this for years. I've had other meals that ended up throwing away. The only thing they cook properly is kidney/liver. Oxtail and curried goat always bitter. However the food was cold due to the delivery was delivered and a text message was sent, but no knock at the door that it was here; outside for a half honor. Contactless it as. I Love Caribbean food and was really looking forward to trying this Place. It was recommended to my Mom, but they said the one in Pembroke Pines was better. The space itself is nice, better than most of the little whole in the wall Caribbean restaurants, and they greet you when you walk-in which is very different for this kind of restaurant. Everything looks clean and orderly. We had the Escoviche Fish with rice and pigeon peas, fried ripe plantains, and a salad. I was going to have a bottle of Sorrel but when I picked it up the bottle was bloated. When I told the server she just looked at me. The servers were nice enough and one of them seemed new. They didn't ask if the food was to go, they just handed us the bag firmly tied. We untied it and sat to eat. There were two forks, that's it. Had to go get knives and napkins. There were also no napkins on the tables, or anywhere else other than with the cashier. We thought the rice was tasty, even though I don't like the "converted" rice. The plantains were also decent because they were not dripping in oil. The salad was also decent, but they didn't give or add any salad dressing. Had to go ask. The Escoviche Fish, which is a Caribbean classic had absolutely no taste and the fish was fried too dry. I'm very disappointed. I came here today expecting a good filling meal for my lunch break! But I got heated when the lady forgot my Mac and cheese. But I said you know what I probably wasn't going to eat it all. So I dived into my meal. Thirty seconds into it i noticed the chicken was nothing but bones! These oxtàils were everything tender juicy and flavorful sticky goodness. The prices were a bit high but I definitely got my money's worth of food. They really loaded my plate with peas and rice oxtails with a gravy sauce veggies and plantains though there was only 3 small plantains sticking together and they weren't fresh tasting. Absolutely could've used some pizazz on the plantains they were quite bland. One would think that a drink is included with their meal considering the prices but it was separately priced just under 2 bucks for a bottled ginger beer (not my favorite). Fresh is best!!!! The service was speedy and the cashier though she never smiled was very honest giving me back the overage of change I gave her in a hurry. This review is solely about the stew peas. I did not know that this item was on the menu because I normally only look for oxtails, jerk chicken, and curry chicken when I go to a Jamaican restaurant. I normally order stew peas from another restaurant here in Miami, but it is very far from my house. I decided to try Donna's stew peas on Thursday and they were absolutely delicious. I ordered the large for me and my daughter, but there was so much food that we ate off the one plate for 2 days. The seasoning was on point and full of meat and dumplings. I would highly recommend the stew peas if you are in the mood for a hearty filling dish. I will definitely order this dish again and again. read more

Honestly I won't come here again. The first 2 times I came the oxtails were really good. But I've come at least 4 times more and have all bad experiences. Today was my last straw. They are ALWAYS out of everything. They don't close until around 10pm so it's ridiculous that every time I come around 2 or 3:30 pm they are out of everything. They didn't have oxtails, Curry goat or regular jerk chicken(the last 3 times I've come) . So I got the Barbi jerk. The jerk chicken was cold in the middle and warm on the outside. Letting me know that they microwaved it. My friend got 2 beef patties. They were not warm at all. So clearly not fresh. (they were not warm the last time either) and we got Jamaican kola and they were warm. So not only is the food cold, the drinks are NOT cold... This place is so backwards. The drive thru is super convenient. I pass by Everytime I just want to pick up a quick meal on my way home. Also on the weekends, I'll just roll out of bed in the morning, visit the drive thru for my porridge and breakfast stuff. Prices are affordable. I usually only get the stew peas and rice or curry goat and they taste pretty good. read more

I went there today because I had a taste for oxtails and on previous visits it was good. Well, what a disappointment. I ordered a large oxtail with peas and rice and asked for gravy on the rice. I got my food and went home to eat it. When I opened the container I could see that the rice was dry and there wasn't even gravy on the meat. Everything was dry and had very little seasoning. For a meal that cost $17.00 this is absolutely ridiculous. I will not be returning. Whoever the cook was today should be fired. I've had more flavor in my food eating eggs. Very disappointing. I visited Donna's in Plantation years ago. Like 14 years ago and it left a lasting impression. I honestly felt like the new location would be the same or better, especially since it's extremely closer to my address. Welllllll, I was completely wrong. This location sucks big time. The rice feels and taste like it was mixed with undercooked or overcooked yesterday's rice! The potato salad, which was an $1.50, was ATROCIOUS.
