    Great ads bad service

I walked over 15 minutes specifically to try this place, and unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. Despite arriving well before closing, they were completely out of sides. I was initially told by the woman at the counter to wait for cabbage after she went to the back to confirm only to find out later that there was none coming. Customer service was average at best. When I expressed my frustration, they brushed it off, saying the sides are "free," so it supposedly doesn't matter if they're unavailable. But here's the thing I would've ordered a larger plate had I known sides weren't an option. When I said that, the employee told me the large just comes with "one to two more pieces of meat and extra rice" for a higher price which honestly felt like a scam. To top it off, another customer chimed in saying this happens all the time they always run out of sides, even with their overpriced meals. Yet, they still charge you full price for a partial meal. That's unacceptable. Between the lack of transparency, poor customer service, sketchy building setup, and over $20 wasted, I can confidently say I won't be returning. Save your time and money.

This is my go to Jamaican food spot. It's very authentic and they give generous portions. They support our first amendment right and the people are nice and wholesome.9 out of 10

Friendly staff, quick service and clean. Order your food on the right side then the left room is a dining place.

I've heard good things about Jamaica House, especially about the food and its popularity. The first thing you notice is how busy the place is. It has a dining room and bar, but most of the business, if not all was through takeout. The service was solid; no complaints there. I had the brown stew chicken and fried dumplings, both of which were good, the brown stew chicken had great flavor, the dumplings were fluffy and crispy. My only knock is the portion size, they don't give you much. Overall, it was a good visit. 4 G's."

Late night stop Food is great.... craving a late night cap. Stop here for a Jamaican cuisine. There will be a line, however it goes fast. The food is fresh and nice.

Great spot for late night eats! Open 24 hours so you can satisfy your late night cravings. If you want authentic Jamaican food this is the place for you. Curry chicken 9/10 - I asked for extra gravy and they did not disappoint. Super filling and the perfect amount of spice. Sometimes curry can be a bit much but this was perfect and the meat was tender. The veggies were soft and the gravy had a great texture. Mac & cheese 9/10 - cheesy, soft and delicious!! This Mac hit every spot necessary lol. House Strawberry lemonade 4/10 - did not taste like strawberry lemonade at all lol. It was very sweet but those flavors were not there. It tasted like a different type of juice. Definitely tasted a little ginger in it. This wasn't my first time here and it won't be my last. Other honorable mentions: oxtail!! I didn't get it this time because they ran out but it's so good.

I recommend coming here after a night of partying. They are open 24 hours. The wait time is ridiculous but that fried dumpling and stew chicken will get you right.

Rice and gravy was very good. Curry goat meat felt tough. I got a large platter and I left all the meat. Cabbage was in a small box, they could of just put that small serving in the box. It's a waste of styrofoam. Bf had the oxtail. It was tasty.. some pieces were just fat.

Discovering fat from the oxtails while eating and was told that is how they cook their food...Nasty!

So my husband went and purchased 3 oxtails dinner. The total is $54.60. Upon looking at the receipt I noticed there was a $10.00 charge for the tip, which he did NOT leave... While trying to enjoy my dinner I noticed that there was a lot of fat on the oxtails. We called into the restaurant and was told to the cashier and owner LaToya what we encountered. The cashier stated that fat should be on the oxtails and that's how they cook their food. REALLY!!! I cook and know for a fact that meat should be clean before cooking... Since this restaurant feels otherwise then let me contact the health department so that they could stop by and inspect this restaurant. I wonder what else is going on there... LaToya was very unreasonable. My husband is taking this food right back to the restaurant ASAP...

The flavors were really hittin--not salty but definitely not lacking in flavor and complexity. So delicious The only criticism I would have from what I ordered is that the rice was ever so slightly undercooked which made it a bit dry. Other than that, everything was great. There's not really a server--you order and they text you when it's ready. Then you come pick it up and go to your table. But the cashier lady was very nice and helped me decide what to get.

If you're looking for something unique to try at the Citadel, Manjay is worth a shot. They serve Haitian cuisine. Portions were generous and in general, the food was kind of heavy. Many of the components I believe were made to order, so there was a short wait. Here's what my wife and I ordered: Appetizer: * Caribbean Conch Fritters ($14) - Manjay pikliz, honey mustard remoulade These were big and tasty. Six pieces, like giant hush puppies with conch inside. The plate came with pikliz in the center. Pikliz is like the Haitian version of coleslaw, made with cabbage, carrots, onions, and peppers. Manjay's version was spicy and yummy. Bowls, each with 2 sides and 1 sauce: * Honey Jerk Chicken Bowl ($18) - breaded and tossed in Manjay's homemade honey jerk sauce; with red beans rice and sweet plantains and scotch bonnet mango aioli * From Haiti with Love (Griyo) ($18) - Deep-fried Kreyol-style slow-braised pork; with banan payzay and toofay Both the chicken and pork were very good and flavorful. The pork was served bone-in. The rice and beans and sweet plantains were comforting and addictive. The scotch bonnet mango aioli was spicy. Banan payzay are Haitian pressed plantains. These were savory and starchy. The toofay ("legume") was good too. It's a hearty vegetable stew, essentially Haitian ratatouille. Our cashier was Roniqua and she was nice. During our visit, I think Manjay had the longest line (a good sign). After walking around, looking at the other food court options and seeing Manjay's high rating on Yelp, we were sold on Manjay. We dined in so we got real plates and silverware. We actually took everything up to the rooftop bar and ate up there. Our trays were bussed by the staff on the roof. Along with this location at the Citadel food court in Little River (just north of Little Haiti), Manjay has a casual strip location near the Miami airport in Doral. This Citadel location is the original; it opened in February 2019. The Doral location opened in 2024.

By the time the doors opened, there was already a line forming behind us. THIS PLACE IS LITTT! The vibe is definitely part restaurant, part party. Once the DJ gets going, just know you're not coming here for a quiet little brunch. There's indoor and outdoor seating, but if you sit outside, be prepared for that Miami heat AND to be a little closer to all the music and action. I was celebrating my birthday and our waitress, Charley, was an absolute DREAM! She took such good care of us and made sure the shots kept coming. And coming. I ordered the Smoked BBQ Beef Rib Platter, and the portion was HUGE. Everything was super tasty, especially the sides. My only critique was that I wish the beef rib had been just a tad more tender. I also ordered the Malibu Mojito, which was sooo good. I think I had about 12. Okay, maybe not 12, but clearly I enjoyed them! Service did slow down a little once things got really busy, and one of our dishes came out a little cold, but neither was enough to ruin the experience. Overall, Dukunoo is a MUST for me whenever I'm in Miami. Good food, GOOD drinks, music, energy and a whole vibe. The vibe of the space feels like they brought in the murals of wynwood to their interior design. The music selection was rap hit after rap hit, loved. We sat at the bar. Our server was Marcus. He was so helpful and attentive. Gave us his menu recommendations, which we followed suit. We ordered the duck dumplings and the sweet potato croquettes from the HH menu. From the regular menu, we ordered the bbq toro and the oxtail udon. The duck dumplings had a rich au jus, great. Our favorite app was the sweet potato croquette. Slightly sweet, a satisfying crunch, but soft in the center with tender brisket. The white bbq sauce and parm gave it a nice smoky nuttiness. Ordered another round, they were so good! The bbq toro had an amazing smokey flavor and a nice citrusy butter as the sauce. The cut was perfect. The oxtail udon was really hearty, and by far the best dish we had (though all the dishes were seriously incredible). It comes with a cured egg yolk, which they mix for you tableside. Sometimes less is more. I booked brunch for the Sunday after Valentine's Day. The reservation was confirmed, but then I found out they don't even open until 5 PM that day. How does a brunch reservation get confirmed for a time when the restaurant isn't open? I decided to give it another try this weekend and went at 5 PM to sit at the bar. The hostess told me there was a "Hungry Post" event happening. I asked about the price and she said it was $100 per person. Okay, fine -- but when I asked what the event included or what it was about, she seemed unsure and said it was "just a party" and that you just go in. No explanation of what was included, no specials, nothing. Charging $100 per person just to attend a "party" with no clear details feels odd and poorly communicated. I genuinely want this place to succeed because the food and drinks are great -- I just wish they would focus on that and improve communication and organization instead of trying so hard to be trendy.
