I then asked my father to pick up the food. He arrived at 3:39 PM, more than 30 minutes later, and the staff acted as though they had no idea what he was talking about. He called me asking if I had actually placed the order because they were telling him they didn't have it. I asked him to put me on speaker so I could speak with them. When I asked the woman why the order wasn't ready after being placed over 30 minutes earlier, she rudely replied, "Well you didn't talk to me. I don't answer phones." Excuse me? I don't know your internal process, but I do know I called and spoke with someone for about two minutes placing that order. I certainly didn't imagine it. I initially told my father to just leave, but since he was already there he asked them to make the order. I repeated the order to the woman and the call ended. I then called back and got the same woman again, as I recognized her voice. I explained the situation and she sighed deeply before saying, "Let me see because I'm here now." She put the phone down, I heard rummaging in the background, and then she came back and said, "He already placed the order." Ma'am, that was not what I asked. The question was why the order was never placed and ready for pickup when I called it in over 30 minutes earlier. Her response was simply, "Oh well I don't know, but the order is made now." At that point I told her I would be leaving a review. If I could leave zero stars for service, I would. The only reason this review is getting two star is because the food actually tastes good and they're a Caribbean restaurant. However, customer service matters. Being rude and dismissive when a customer politely asks about their order is completely unnecessary. A simple acknowledgment or accountability would have prevented this entire situation. My favorite Jamaican restaurant, Maam Jamaican Restaurant on Ives Dairy, closed and I was really sad about it. I also really miss the sweet oxtail flavor they used to have. I've been craving oxtails, and since they're closed and I wouldn't be cheating on them anymore, so I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the seasoning wasn't too good on either dish, but the food was very fresh. Unfortunately, I will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant, and I will also be sharing this experience on other platforms.
