    Jerk Chicken Meal

The best Jamaican food in Broward County, Florida. Great service and welcoming staff! Highly recommend coming if you want authentic Jamaican food and not American washed Jamaican food.

Oxtails plated nice, but flavor was off.

I ordered door dash this evening from here and it was just ok. I ordered oxtails, brown stew chicken and jerk chicken. The dinners came with rice and peas and salad. The plating was nice, everything looked good. The oxtails were just ok. The flavor was a bit off to me, I sort of thought I was tasting a hint of ginger and I am not a fan. My boo thought they were pretty good sooo ok. The brown stew chicken was better, very flavorful. The jerk chicken came cold and after heating it up was the best out of everything we ordered. The peas and rice were just ok, I've had better. Not sure if I will order from here again because I over love oxtails and these didn't really taste that great to me.

This place is a hidden gem. Delicious food and very authentic. Even homemade juices. The GINGER is my favorite. Mark makes it himself. Don't pass this by.

I love he food I just hate the wait. Be prepared to wait at least 30-45 mins for your food. I always order the esckovich fish and peas and rice along with the plantains. The fish comes with carrots and Onions on it. It's really filling. My only problem is when I call in its never ready when you get there no matter how long they tell you.

This is the curry shrimp my daughter ate. Looks as good as it tasted

Their conch soup is really good. In addition to their lunch specials (jerk, curry, brown stew chicken)...

Excellent customer service. Probably the best I've ever seen in a Jamaican restaurant. Would definitely recommend it.

Decent Jamaican cuisine at a reasonable price. Some dishes are bit peppery for those with a sensitive palate.

Island Tings in Miramar definitely delivered if you're craving real Caribbean comfort food…read more I ordered the curry chicken and it was exactly what you want from a spot like this. The chicken was tender, well seasoned, and soaked in that rich curry sauce. It came piled over rice with veggies and potatoes mixed in, and the flavors were deep and authentic. You can tell it's the kind of food that's been cooked slow and done right. The portions were solid too definitely a filling meal. Perfect if you're hungry and want something hearty. The restaurant itself has a cool island vibe inside with the beach murals and bright colors that make it feel relaxed and laid-back. The setup is simple cafeteria style, so you move down the line and pick what you want, which keeps things moving. If you're in Miramar and want real Caribbean flavors without the fuss, this spot is worth the stop. Good portions, flavorful food, and a chill atmosphere.

She said a few words in patois to the other woman. Next thing I know the other woman started preparing all the sides in a carry out container and then goes to the back for the jerk wings. I didn't leave until 8 o'clock with my order. It wasn't worth the time that I waited. The rice and peas and cabbage were delicious. The wings were dried out, hard and tasted like barbecue chicken instead of jerk wings. I threw them in the trash. Don't even bother putting an order in before cause you're gonna wait anyway. One thing that will always frustrate me is bad customer service, especially at a Black-owned…read moreestablishment where Caribbean people go specifically to support one another. At 3:07 PM, I called and spoke with a woman to place a pickup order: one fried fish and one oxtail with rice and peas and plantains. I was told plantains are not served until 5 PM, so I said that was fine and switched the side to steamed vegetables. She clarified it would be steamed cabbage, and I agreed. I then asked my father to pick up the food. He arrived at 3:39 PM, more than 30 minutes later, and the staff acted as though they had no idea what he was talking about. He called me asking if I had actually placed the order because they were telling him they didn't have it. I asked him to put me on speaker so I could speak with them. When I asked the woman why the order wasn't ready after being placed over 30 minutes earlier, she rudely replied, "Well you didn't talk to me. I don't answer phones." Excuse me? I don't know your internal process, but I do know I called and spoke with someone for about two minutes placing that order. I certainly didn't imagine it. I initially told my father to just leave, but since he was already there he asked them to make the order. I repeated the order to the woman and the call ended. I then called back and got the same woman again, as I recognized her voice. I explained the situation and she sighed deeply before saying, "Let me see because I'm here now." She put the phone down, I heard rummaging in the background, and then she came back and said, "He already placed the order." Ma'am, that was not what I asked. The question was why the order was never placed and ready for pickup when I called it in over 30 minutes earlier. Her response was simply, "Oh well I don't know, but the order is made now." At that point I told her I would be leaving a review. If I could leave zero stars for service, I would. The only reason this review is getting two star is because the food actually tastes good and they're a Caribbean restaurant. However, customer service matters. Being rude and dismissive when a customer politely asks about their order is completely unnecessary. A simple acknowledgment or accountability would have prevented this entire situation. My favorite Jamaican restaurant, Maam Jamaican Restaurant on Ives Dairy, closed and I was really sad about it. I also really miss the sweet oxtail flavor they used to have. I've been craving oxtails, and since they're closed and I wouldn't be cheating on them anymore, so I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the seasoning wasn't too good on either dish, but the food was very fresh. Unfortunately, I will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant, and I will also be sharing this experience on other platforms.

I was initially told by the woman at the counter to wait for cabbage after she went to the back to confirm only to find out later that there was none coming. Customer service was average at best. When I expressed my frustration, they brushed it off, saying the sides are "free," so it supposedly doesn't matter if they're unavailable. But here's the thing I would've ordered a larger plate had I known sides weren't an option. When I said that, the employee told me the large just comes with "one to two more pieces of meat and extra rice" for a higher price which honestly felt like a scam. To top it off, another customer chimed in saying this happens all the time they always run out of sides, even with their overpriced meals. Yet, they still charge you full price for a partial meal. That's unacceptable. Between the lack of transparency, poor customer service, sketchy building setup, and over $20 wasted, I can confidently say I won't be returning. Save your time and money.
