I am terribly disappointed in the service I received. I drove 34 mins to the restaurant at a recommendation for a friend. I got there late in the afternoon so I understood why there was no more soup. Nevertheless, I was committed to trying to support this business and tried again on another day. I got the "manish water" soup aka goat soup. I got all the way back home and there was no meat in the soup. Bc I never had it before, I wondered if it were called man-ish bc maybe it seemed like goat soup but didn't actually have goat because my soup had no meat. I calmed and asked if it were a vegetarian option. The clerk said no and agreed to give me another soup. I told her o would be back in the area in a few hours and thanked her. When I got there, she was upset o did not bring the soup back with me. That's crazy alone. But even crazier... she went in the kitchen and came out with 2 pieces of "meat" in a cup. This has got to be the worst Jamaican restaurant I've ever ordered from. I ordered brown stew chicken and I got more bones than meat. Not only did I have a bad experience, but my friend called to get a quote for a catering event. He had to practically harass the business to even get a final quote on the price. After calling back two times because the "chef" was not even at the business that-day and the second time not available to pick up the phone he received an exaggerated $$$$ price for brown stew chicken and curry goat. The "chef" never even wrote down the order so my friend had to repeat what he needed for the catering event. Their customer service is horrible and the food is not even good. To put it simply, wow. I visited on a Wednesday afternoon, and didn't have my hopes super high as this restaurant is tucked into a tiny strip mall next to a much larger Chinese take out shop. Luckily, I let me Caribbean cravings take over and I went right in. I quickly ordered the jerk chicken lunch special (all their weekday lunch specials are $5!!) and took a seat at the only empty table, of the four inside. The place is popular, folks. My order was called within minutes - the staff asked what kind of gravy I prefer, and with all the options, I asked for a suggestion and went for the oxtail gravy. Then there's jerk sauce and a salad dressing. All these sauces to pair with some flavorful food that didn't even need more sauce! But it's all good. I wolfed down a hearty portion of jerk chicken, a bit spicy without jerk sauce, and even more delicious with it. Then there was a side salad. Then there was a whole thing of rice and beans (with the oxtail gravy on top, I loved it so much). I walked out of there heavy and happy. I highly recommend a visit! read more

I ordered door dash this evening from here and it was just ok. I ordered oxtails, brown stew chicken and jerk chicken. The dinners came with rice and peas and salad. The plating was nice, everything looked good. The oxtails were just ok. The flavor was a bit off to me, I sort of thought I was tasting a hint of ginger and I am not a fan. My boo thought they were pretty good sooo ok. The brown stew chicken was better, very flavorful. The jerk chicken came cold and after heating it up was the best out of everything we ordered. The peas and rice were just ok, I've had better. Not sure if I will order from here again because I over love oxtails and these didn't really taste that great to me. read more

I was told about Macca Trees conch soup a few years ago, said I would check it out then totally forgot about it. On my way to trader Joe's I drove past it and was like omg that's that place I said I would try! So after shopping I stopped by. The shop is sterile clean. Like sparkling. They're also strict with a 3 person capacity. I didn't smell any food until the kitchen door cracked in. I was skeptical bc I've been striking out lately with Jamaican food. WELL. When I got home and cracked that container open I was ECSTATIC! Every single thing was flavorful! When I say they know how to season food omg do I mean it. The rice, the jerk chicken, the oxtail, the steamed veg, and the salad wasn't just a wedge of romaine. Everything was delicious. If you're sensitive to spice be mindful bc it's just the right amount of true spiciness. They have sauces that they give for FREE! I got a container of jerk. It was spicy!! Overall I was pleasantly surprised and will be returning. One last thing, this place is authentic! If you're expecting a Sandals Resort welcome you will get your feelings hurt. This is 1 of my go to spots for good oxtails. They are delicious, portion sizes are good and they aren't stingy with the gravy. The rice and peas and cabbage are good as well. I don't know who told them potatoes pair well with the steam fish, but I would recommend them to PLEASE remove the potatoes or what ever root they added, because it makes the dish taste nasty. I love Jamaican food and saw this restaurant is pretty new to the area of Miramar. I decided I wanted to try it out. I went and for a lunch special on in yesterday. When i walked in, there was no one up front. After about five minutes of waiting a young lady came out. I asked for the jerk chicken with no rice the cashier responded "Then that's not a lunch special" So I ask because I don't want rice it's not a lunch special? She said "Yes you have to get everything that comes with the lunch special" I asked "You mean if I get a lunch special that means I have to take everything that comes with it? She said If don't get the rice you not give me anything extra! I said that's fine I don't want anything extra you can put the same amounts I just don't want the rice. OK I just want to make sure you know you don't get anything extra. Got annoyed me but I decided I would give them a second shot so this morning I came in for breakfast. Again I walked in the door no one was up from the door makes a chime sound which should alert them that someone came in, still no one came up front I stood up front for almost 10 minutes shouting "Hello" and opening the door so it would chime again and no one came out. I stood in view of the window and could see a man cooking but bo one csme out so I left. As I pulled off I glanced in the window and no one had come up front. The food is great especially the escovich snapper and the jerk chicken. I love the fact that the owner serves no pork products on the premises. I also applaud this restaurant because the salad is good. Not cheap iceburg lettuce served here. We have actually come here for our anniversary as knew I would get the meal I wanted on that special day. Mark served us a wonderful meal and the presentation was also very palatable. I called in for my order at 1:30 pm, but when I got there she told me my food was ready but they had to serve the others that were standing there when I arrived. I waited even after they served someone I asked for my order again and again they said it was ready but the other customers were there before me so I had to wait until after the customer received there order. Then when I finally do receive my order which was oxtails with extra gravy the plate had a punctured hole in it where all the gravy drained out of my plate. This place is a fricking hidden gem! Based on where it is located, I would have never even thought to go here, Ever.. but since I was in the area, I just did it. They make brown stew salmon! Oh my gosssh!! You can taste the coconut milk in the rice. The salad is filled with fresh sweet cranberries and the veggies on top of the salmon are super fresh and crisp! It's like a bunch of professional chefs run this restaurant. Why this awesome place is hidden in this hole of a plaza is beyond me.
