I placed my order online at 7:30 and received a text that it was ready at 7:38. When I arrived for pick it up, I was told my order was not ready. The server sat down. She said a few words in patois to the other woman. Next thing I know the other woman started preparing all the sides in a carry out container and then goes to the back for the jerk wings. I didn't leave until 8 o'clock with my order. It wasn't worth the time that I waited. The rice and peas and cabbage were delicious. The wings were dried out, hard and tasted like barbecue chicken instead of jerk wings. I threw them in the trash. Don't even bother putting an order in before cause you're gonna wait anyway. It's Monday 7/14/25 at 12:40pm in the afternoon one guest in the restaurant. I waited about six minutes to be greeted. They were busy fulfilling online orders I think. I tried calling before I drove there to order for pick up but the number rings 6 times and just hangs up. I suggest fixing that, so as not to leave money on the table for another restaurant that answers. Ambience it's very clean nice vibe usually when I come here, usually very good music selection, today I was uncomfortable listening to the two songs by a female rapper , unfortunately it was nothing but cursing, not a good look. I would advise management to filter any music to radio versions or clean versions so as to not offend some of the customers. This is a delivery order. There is a promotion buy one get one free. We ordered Jerk chicken with rice and Curry chicken with rice. The curry chicken is on the salty side, the portion of the rice seems little. The jerk chicken has little portion of rice too, it is the first time I tried the jerky chicken -a famous Jamaican dish unique spicy, smoky, and tender chicken. We visited Miami in July, 2025. Our first day arriving there we were tired and just wanted to eat something good and relax. Hubby decided to order from here through Uber Eats. We got the oxtail dinner which came with rice and beans and plantains. We also had the ginger lemonade. OMG, everything was SO good and flavorful! I order Uber eats from this location all the time to my office, but we happen to be out on the road and decided to stop in for a quick lunch. At lunchtime, they have a lot of the food options already ready to go. I went to my go to, which is brown stew chicken. I will say the service is not the most friendliest but not something that is unfamiliar if you go into Jamaican restaurants. It took a while to get our order which I didn't quite understand as again. The food is already prepared. I got my chicken with rice and peas and plantains. I like to get the oxtail gravy on top of my rice to add a little bit more flavor. The restaurant was clean. I heard about this restaurant on IG and had been dying to check it out. I mentioned to a friend that I was in the area and he told me to check it out. Now to be fair, the price of oxtails is increases, well all food prices have gone up. You can see the portion that I received. I'm on the fence about if it was a fair amount of oxtails. Everyone wants a large portion but it is also becoming a popular meat to serve, so the prices will keep going up. Of course the business will pass the increase on to the customers. The oxtails were seasoned well and were tender. The rice and cabbage was really good as well. The rasta cake was bomb. I was sad that I didn't get more than 1 slice. Overall, my experience was pleasant and the staff was lovely, but at that price point, I probably won't return. I also got a ginger lemonade which I did find to be too sweet and was able to water down. The young person behind the counter looked tired which is very understandable. They were able to help more than one person at a time in a timely manner and made sure the portions were ample. Island Tings decor is like nothing I had ever seen before in a restaurant. Of course there a wallpaper panorama of a beautiful beach and yet I was surprised to see a woman in a thong bikini on the beach.
