G&G is the most amazing hospice program around…read more We had no care for my Mother, we called G&G over Memorial Day weekend and on Sunday, the founder came to meet with my Mother and I with 4 medications that day to stabilize her restlessness, anxiety and pain. They had a medical bed and walker delivered that night. The whole Team has been amazing, the Nurse, Admin, Pastor, In Home Aid, back office support, pharmacy support, medical device delivery service all top notch. Thank you to the whole Team, but especially Jane the founder.

There are no words to describe my experience with Grace & Glory! My dad was an incredible man, one…read moreof the kind, a force of nature. He worked so hard, never retired, super healthy, until we were introduced to dementia, you hear about it, reality is brutal when happens to someone you love... You think you can deal with it, but as you go, it is devastating, sad, scary. This disease starts slow, and suddenly every week, every month there is a big change, never gets better, only worse, a new dad every week... It was like seeing someone you love becoming a new person all the time you meet. Only thing you can do is to provide comfort and excellent care. Dementia hurts everyone and everything, I was new to this, so I had to take online courses, and read books to understand the disease and what was going on with my dad. I have a full-time job, so I would stop before or after work when I placed him at the memory care, and on my days off. My dad would scream in happiness when he would see me coming, it was a party for sure, and that was my absolute pleasure in life. To see him running after me to give me hugs and kisses as if he was seeing me for the first time ever, all the time he saw me. Unfortunately, he was very difficult to deal with for the folks at the facility, he would get very angry, sometimes violent with the staff there. I would have to rush there, leave work to calm him down. He would also yell at other residents, and when hallucinations started, he was gone and trapped on a sort of hell loop, seeing things, screaming, suffering as if he was in physical pain. One day, I decided to go to a support group with others like me that were losing their loved ones to this disease, we shared stories, some were disastrous, yet very funny. That day, I had the immense pleasure to meet the founder of G&G, Mrs. Jane Porter. It was an impact on me to meet someone so kind, and knowledgeable. At that point seeing my father suffering was hurting me more than it was hurting him... Only great thing about dementia is that they forget what they did, unfortunately you don't. Jane spoke with me about comfort for him, deep inside I was sort of desperate to give him peace while he was still with me. I was concerned at one point the facility was going to quit us. He was a genius man when he was well, an engineer, a scientist, a builder, so that with dementia would make him put everything apart. He would dismantle his closet and other residents closets, beds, ac units, tables, chairs... Jane spoke with me, and mention that we just need to find a proper medication for him, and assure he will have not just a better care, but a better quality of life. As a nurse herself, she monitored him with her doctor and team for 2 weeks until they found the proper dosage and medication that transformed him from the man I described above to the sweetest, calm, happy man. I was shocked, many times I would drive away from him crying in my car alone, that day I left with happy tears. I was able to take him out for dinner at his favorite restaurants and bring him home to spend the day with the dogs that he loved so much. The greatest NEWS is that the hospice was covered by his medicare, so I didn't have to spend anything out of pocket. Jane and her team made sure he was groomed and showered, clean and happy. I think that made me happier than anyone, some light and life got back into me. He had some incidents like bad falls, flu, respiratory issues, and they even provided oxygen tanks, and a hospital bed. Once the big facility was not a good fit for him anymore, I moved him to a this wonderful place called Brentwood Care Home with Rose Malabato, still, I brought Grace & Glory with us. He was doing so well for so long besides not being able to speak anymore and walk. Suddenly he could eat anything comfortably, and one of main wishes to me is that he would not pass in a hospital, he hated hospitals, with the disease he was really afraid to go in, he would get worked up and fearful. Jane made his room at his new facility my father's hospital bed, and he didn't know any difference. He passed peacefully in his room, very comfortable with no pain. There are people in this earth that you remember forever, some are angels on earth, and that is how I describe Jane and her team. When he was gone, I didn't know what to do with myself, part of me was gone, but I knew it was the best for him to rest. Now, I considered Jane and her family part of mine, and there are nothing I can do to express my gratitude for their love and kindness to my father, and our whole family. 1 year has passed without him... I don't write a lot of reviews, but I feel that by sharing my personal life story here with you it can be helpful. Typing a big journey in a such a short essay brought me many memories and tears, you don't realize what you and your family is facing when you are going through with it. I couldn't do without Grace & Glory. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart.

DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY Medical and Physical Support…read morePain & Symptom Management (Grade C): Failed to warn about high sensitivity to Morphine/Ativan in a nearly 100-year-old patient; resulted in two days of over-sedation. Medical Equipment (Grade D): Unnecessary "bundled" equipment arrived without transparency. Crucially, delivered an unsafe, bed with 40-year-old design bed with malfunctioning manual rails, leading to a patient fall and injury. Medications (Grade C): Late-night deliveries (after 8 PM) and inadequate supply for basic needs like constipation. Personal Care (Grade C): Aide was inflexible regarding scope of care, refusing basic help with a meal despite the patient's physical weakness. Emotional and Spiritual Support Counseling (Grade F): Minimal contact and zero emotional support. The social worker was dismissive, suggested the patient use briefs instead of the bathroom for caregiver convenience, and eventually stopped visits entirely, citing the VA as a reason to disengage. Caregiver and Family Assistance Emergency Response (Grade F): A two-hour nurse response time following a stroke. The responding nurse was unable to answer questions, used a CPAP instead of required oxygen, and failed to check swallowing safety until prompted. Communication (Grade D): Lack of compassion and poor coordination. Management was unavailable on weekends, and formal complaints to the Director of Nursing went unacknowledged. Administrative Deficits: Reliance on disruptive phone calls rather than a modern patient portal or written care plan. No consistency in staffing and a failure to respect the primary caregiver's work schedule for coordination.
