We have used Don's appliances twice to buy appliances for our kitchen. We purchased a KitchenAid range and microwave hood about six years ago. We just bought a new KitchenAid refrigerator there if you weeks ago. When we bought our range, the control panel stopped working about two weeks in. They were quick and efficient in replacing the panel, and the range is always work sense. When my refrigerator stopped running about a month ago, I've had to get one on an emergency basis. During Covid, it was almost impossible to find a refrigerator that fit our opening. As it turned out, Don's had one on the loading dock that come in but not been put in inventory. Made us call a plumber to have connector put on. 4 days and no response! Numerous calls to Don's Appliance. Told us to text plumber not call. Still no dishwasher!!! Don's is very happy to sell you an appliance but not to service it when repair is needed. We needed an repair for an appliance from Don's (our home is full of Don's appliances) and the wait was at least 3 weeks to get a repair man in just to evaluate. It was our refrigerator, how do you go 3 or more weeks with a non functioning refrigerator. Called a competitor and they came out the same day and will have a full repair in 3 days after the part comes in. Shame on Don's. I would never buy appliances from a place that cannot do service on what they sell. They obviously won't pay what they need to to get a robust repair staff. Do yourself a huge favor and don't bother buying any extended warranties from this store. They will eventually come and service your appliance, which will often break during the warranty period. It will take about 2-3 weeks for an appointment. Then they will order parts. Another week. Then it won't be fixed. Schedule another appointment. More parts. Expect at least 4-6 visits from repair technicians over the course of several months while your appliance is unusable. They will not under any circumstances actually replace the broken appliance. And after you spend several months at your local laundromat, you will end up just purchasing a new washer and dryer set. read more

I will never buy anything here again. my GE washer was/is a disaster. Was broken when it was delivered and would not work. Dons management did nothing for support our problem after the sale except connect me to their repair people. Matt who sold us the unit was worthless. This is the USC store. Plus the people Dons employ to install washers broke both our service lines to the washer. I had to pay $300 to have my plumber replace both shutoff valves they broke. We have a very large family and will be sure no one shops at Dons appliance for anything. read more

I am very disappointed in Dons. I have been shopping there for years. I mean years. I have a business and had them put a kitchen appliances in the break room as well. I bought a dryer and stand. 2 months ago at the McKnight location that I have bought previous terms. What a mess. The dryer was fine. However the kick plate was not I asked to buy a smaller one and I would pay for a new delivery and return for the smaller version. They said no and keep what does not go well here. I said I would agin pay for the smaller version plus delivery. Just keep the difference. They said No. The gentleman said and I mean said. Too bad it's yours. I tried many other times. They just laughed. I bought one from Best Buy. I gave a hold my charge It is now in dispute. I also have a daughter in a new apartment. She needs washer and dryer I am going to Best Buy for that purchase. I tried calling area supervisor but never called back. I tried 3 times for a response. None. Bought an electric LG stove 2 mos ago. Today no burners would heat up ...notta one!!! yesterday worked fine. Tried the oven .. won't heat-up! There is electric to the stove as the lights come on saying it was on. Called service and the earliest they can respond is Tuesday 9/2. We have no stove for 5 days. It's 2 mos. old! Paid over $1K, bought the extended warranty and they can't send out a service person til Tuesday 9/2! This company does NOT care about it's customers. We have bought several appliances from them over the years and just yesterday bought a dishwasher. If this happened yesterday, they would not have gotten a dime from us and will never again. We did not have a positive experience with Don's. Our dishwasher broke so my husband went to the McKnight store and ordered a dishwasher. The salesman explained how the dishwasher model that he was ordering needed to have it's own electric outlet and could not be hardwired. So, my husband came home and contacted an electrician. We hired the electrician to install a gfc outlet up against the kitchen sink. A few days later, the Don's dishwasher arrived and the unit could in fact be hard-wired (!). I had initially explained to the Don's installers that they needed to hook it up to the new gfc outlet, but they didn't pay attention and they hooked it up to the dead hardwire. We discovered this when they finished the install and it wouldn't turn on. The installers told me that 99% of models can still be hard-wired and their salesmen would never tell a customer to have an outlet installed. I re-explained to them that our electrician had just done this work and the hardwire had been cut and they had to use the outlet. Then I stepped out of the room to make a phone call to my husband and also to Don's. The installers slipped away and left without even saying goodbye. I had my electrician come back over that afternoon to uninstall their mess, fix the wires and re-connect it to the outlet that we just paid $350 to have installed. My electrician ended up re-installing the dishwasher. A few weeks later, I called Don's Experience Center out in Robinson and spoke with a manager. He apologized and told us we would be receiving a customer care package for our experience. Nothing arrived, so I called a month later and left a message. He never called me back and we still have not received anything. This was our first and last purchase from Don's. read more

Warning: don't make a mistake on size when ordering. I ordered the wrong size dishwasher and Don's refuses to take it back (not used, only out of the box). I wanted to buy the correct size, which costs $150 more and was willing to pay the 25% restock fee. So not only will they lose the difference in the cost of the new dishwasher and the restock fee, but I will never buy anything there again. The absolute worst experience I ever had with any purchase in my entire life. A faulty Jenn Air (do not purchase) stove was delivered and Don's gave me the run around saying they have to send a technician to try and fix a brand new stove before any further action can be taken. Both techs couldn't fix it, made excuses and each charged me $600 for a service call with some kind of chinese billing system. My experience with dons appliance is not a positive one. I purchased a refrigerator from the McKnight store. The delivery men scratched my hardwood floor with the refrigerator. This was in December 2022. As of March 2023 I have not received compensation for the damaged floor. I spoke to a representative and was told I would receive a check. I'm still waiting. We ordered the wrong size appliance and I called the "salesman", Zach right after delivery to tell him. I didn't expect them to welcome me with open arms and take it back. Purchased a washer/dryer set from them three days ago. The set was delivered yesterday afternoon, installed and the installers ran a wash cycle. The hot water wouldn't not stop dispensing without me shutting off the valve. I ran the cycle with only cold water. Later that evening I noticed my ceiling dripping water (washer and dryer are on a higher floor with a washer pan and drain for leaks. I assume the pan is damaged and the washer is leaking. My ceiling is ruined. My washer is defective. I spend the better part of my day (when I wasn't working) calling, emailing and texting different departments. I spoke with someone who claimed they escalating my complaints. I have no point of contact and it is now past 7pm. I have no way of knowing who will be contacting me if at all. They like many other local business have stonewalled me with middlemen and empty gestures. My ceiling will probably mold and I cannot use what I paid for. They need to make this right and soon. I'm contacting my home insurer and don't plan on letting this go. This is not how you run a business. Every appliance in my home and entire development was from and installed by Dons. We are no strangers to these people. Im hoping they do not allow this to escalate into something bigger than it needs to be. read more

It's hard to imagine a legitimate appliance distributor failing anyone as badly as Don's failed my family. I would not recommend Don's Appliances to anyone. Upon moving into our new construction home the majority of our appliances were inoperative and some experienced some potentially dangerous failures: -The washing machine did not work and was displaying error codes. -The fridge was dripping water onto the floor. -The two dishwashers were not attached to the cabinets or hooked up to the water supply. When my wife opened one to load dishes, it started tipping over and nearly landed on her leg. Thankfully, I was standing next to her and helped catch it before anyone was injured. -The first time we turned on the stove in our Wolf range it shorted out, caught fire, and was immediately out of service. My expectation of a first rate appliance distributor would be immediate and final resolution to these problems. This was not at all the response from Don's. Every time I called Don's service number, the operator casually informed me that it would be three weeks before anyone could come out and this was just the way it is. She was not surprised at the abysmal failure of Don's installation crew and was unwilling to take action beyond putting me on some nebulous list. The only reason I was able to get any traction with Don's service department is because I elevated my problems to the highest levels of my custom home builder. The construction manager and the head construction manager couldn't seem to get anywhere. Only after sharing our problems with the builder's VP of vendor relations did I get more timely attention from Don's. Fixing all of our appliance problems required a lot of phone calls, a bit of confrontation, coordinating house calls, and meeting teams of repair people at the house. All told, I had to take time off work to let repairmen in 5 or 6 times. Some of our appliances were out of service for weeks. Others were only fully functional over a month after we closed on the house. This experience added significant frustration to moving, which is already disruptive enough. Don's consumed time and attention that would have been better spent settling my family. One of the senior repair guys was just as frustrated with the problems as we were and he shared possible a reason for all the trouble. It seems that Don's appliances are not always installed by actual Don's employees. Apparently, they contract with a third party who shows up in an unmarked rental truck. I did not see this personally at my house, but it would explain the multitude of problems. Sub-Zero Wolf suggested that third-party installers would violate their agreement with Don's (who are some sort of preferred Wolf distributor). Our builder tried to write this off as an effect of the labor shortage. Because I was building new construction, I was guided into using Don's because of the arrangements that these companies establish with each other. In hindsight, I wish I had asked more questions about Don's installers / service policy and had personally been present during installation. This wasted time would have been minor compared to fixing it all after the fact. If I ever need to buy appliances as a private individual, with no backing from a big builder, I would never buy from Don's. read more

My husband and I were in search of a good quality washer and dryer that the big box stores didn't have, and Don's Appliance provided. The salesman that greeted us answered all of the questions and concerns we had before deciding on a Speed Queen set. While we've only had the product a few days, they run great and are made to last many years. Delivery and installation guys were efficient and friendly too, answering questions we had during that process. The biggest drawback to this place is that it's located on McKnight Road and is not near a light. We had to make a U-turn down the road to get there and parking was limited, although that aspect wasn't much trouble. read more

I was steered to Don's and ever since the first call and speaking with Joe (Bolkovac) on the phone and then meeting in person, my buying experience became a fun project. He helped me in every aspect of researching and learning about the appliances I was interested in. He was not overly aggressive, only interested in making sure I got the service I needed. Bob was also a big help as well as Jessica at the WaterSource store in East Liberty. I would highly recommend this be your first stop in shopping for appliances.
