We knew something was wrong and were just before the Christiansburg exit, so I quick looked on yelp and saw Ashton's Place not far with a 5 star review. So I started calling and Ashton answered and as I was on the phone explaining, the car stopped completely and we just made it into a little store just down the road from Ashton's. He said stay there, I'll walk down to you. He came with a portable battery & got us started. We drove to his shop and he took a look right away, and told us what it would cost and how long he estimated, which would put it past his closing time. He asked if we had somewhere to stay overnight; he assured us he would try and get it done or if he couldn't that night, definitely the next morning. He even recommended a hotel (which we loved!) and asked his coworker, Joe, to drive us there! Near the hotel was a restaurant we were eating. Halfway through dinner he called to say it was ready! They had stayed after closing to finish it. He even brought it to us at the restaurant! I don't know about you, but I've never had better service than that! Update: 4 months later and during my state inspection, the mechanic found my coolant was extremely…read morelow. After a pressure test, the issue was the exact hose Firestone replaced... Come to find out, the heater hose that had been replaced wasn't even on correctly!! It was sliding on and off and would not click into place. I don't know if the gave me the wrong size hose, a faulty hose, or just didn't care enough to do it correctly, but there's no reason why it should break within 4 months. The reason I didn't fully dump coolant was because the hose expands when the car runs, so it creates a good seal. When it cools, since it wasn't on right, my car slowly leaked coolant over several months. I'm so glad that I ended up only paying 220 for this hose, because the original quote was over $600. If I had paid over 600 to get a hose that would break in less than a year, I'd be furious. I am still pretty upset because my mechanic thinks that Firestone just forced the hose to fit on there when it shouldn't have been. I will not take my car here again, that's for sure!
