I came to visit my daughter for the weekend. She's a college student. When she picked me up at the train station in Roanoke at night, I noticed one of her headlights was out. I stopped by Price's the next morning, hoping that they could help, but figuring they'd have me make an appointment. Someone came out with me right away, and fixed it right there in the lot. Very reasonable price - I'm from NoVA and I think it would've been twice that amount up there. I was so happy they were able to help me out so quickly. I made an appointment for them to look at a rattle I'd been hearing in the back of the car. My daughter was in charge of following up on that. It was another easy fix and another reasonable fee. I have looked high and low in Blacksburg for a good mechanic and never considered Price's until a couple of years ago. Now I go there for everything from major repairs to oil changes. They are fair with pricing and do not do unnecessary work. Just know that they may not be able to squeeze you in right away for an appointment because they stay busy. Great honest service. My daughter went there because she had a bent rim and a check engine light. $67 later the rim was replaced and the light diagnosed. We were told it was the O2 sensor, approx $300 to replace. They want us to run some fuel system cleaner through a tank of gas and see if that would take care of the problem. So they reset the light, put a bottle of fuel system cleaners do sent us on our way. I have never had a service garage have is try a cheaper option first. Also the cheapest I could find a rim for was $65. They replaced the rim and diagnosed the problem for less they I could find parts for!! Customer service at its best! read more

Although they were unable to take my car in the time I needed it to, due to their business. They were nothing but helpful and even spent about an hour helping me figure out what was wrong and other places I could go to get it fixed. Great place for VT students needing to maintenance their cars. I've gone twice now, once for an inspection, and again for an oil change and both times the gentlemen have been so easy to work with. Got me in quickly and did exactly what I asked and nothing more. Fair pricing and very responsive to my questions. Not the kind of place where have to worry about them taking advantage of your lack of car knowledge. The parking lot is a little tricky to maneuver sometimes but it's nothing major. Overall a wonderful resource to the VT community and I'd recommend it to any of my friends needing work on their cars. read more

I am a student at Virginia Tech and I really needed my brakes and rotors done. They did it quickly for a very reasonable price that I could afford. They also complimented me on my car for the flaws that it already had, a hole in the muffler and told me that they could fix it but it still sounded really good saying, "Everyone has a little redneck in them." I am also a girl from Connecticut and my parents are very far away so I am always worried about being taken advantage of because I really don't know that much about cars. My tire had a nail and they fixed it up just like that. I went to two other places. One being "Campus Automotive" and "North main auto repair". "Car automotive shouldn't even be a business. I went in and I explained the issue and all they said was give me a sec. That one second was 30minutes. The guy at the front was talking to his other co workers about some food they just ate and some other crap. Then after doing nothing, the guy at the front came out looked at the tire without even searching for the nail and said that'll cost you $30. He said it'll be done in four days. Seeing how terrible the service was I went off to "North Main Auto Repai". They were upfront and honest. Told me that they were pretty stacked but said it'll be better to call up a different place. Checked yelp and there came "Prices Service Center". The people who work are amazing. Told them the issue and bam. It was done in 5minutes. They seemed way busier than car automotive, but this was just like that. They were about half the price and also taught me how to fill it in the future in case I had that same issue. My VT students had a water pump failure that was warrantied through a different mechanic in Roanoke. The Price's staff were very courteous and professional in every interaction with my daughters and myself. They completed this major repair in a timely manner and managed the whole warranty claim process that netted my family a major savings. Took my truck in to have a performance muffler installed. Got it in within 15 minutes, and did an outstanding job!! They even painted the welds with high temperature paint to prevent corrosion. I've had several performance mufflers installed over the years, and this is the first time anyone has ever painted the welds! Absolutely wonderful service! As a college student that does not know much about cars, they were very helpful in explaining the situation and getting it fixed extremely quickly. It was very clear that they were not trying to swindle me out of my money, which I have had issues with in the past at other places. When they brought me my car back, one of the mechanics said he also popped out my front bumper that I had crushed in for free just because he knew it would only take him a few minutes. Price's Service Center is an excellent Automobile Service Shop for our cars. I used them today for my first service visit, on our 2008 BMW 535xi Sedan, and I'm so glad that I did. The car had overheated with my Wife as she was coming to Blacksburg, from our home in Newport, Virginia, a few days ago. Robert Smith, the Office Manager let one of his techs check our car, that day. Robert thought it would most likely be the Coolant Thermostat, that had failed, causing the car to overheat. I did some research on the BMW, when I got home that night, to find that E60 5-Series BMW's are common for failing water pumps, and failing thermostats. Online discussions, advised BMW E60 5-Series owners to replace both the Coolant Water Pump, and Coolant Thermostat at the same time. This to avoid future expenses, since these two parts are right next to each other, being that the Coolant Thermostat is so inexpensive to replace. So, I discussed with Robert, that we most likely needed to replace both the coolant water pump and coolant thermostat, simultaneously, since they were both connected to each other on this car with connecting hoses. Robert agreed with my diagnosis, as he was scanning our situation on his desktop computer in front of him, that it would be best to replace both the water pump and the thermostat, for this BMW. We had discussed the prices for these two parts, that first day, when the car had overheated. Robert ordered the OEM parts from a BMW parts source in North Carolina, to which I was pleased to know that he offered. It took a few days for the parts to arrive, and our appointment was for today, Monday, December 18, 2017. WOW!!! This car was repaired so swiftly. My appointment was at 9:45am this morning, and this car, was professionally repaired, and delivered back to me by 1:30pm, this same afternoon. I took this BMW 535xi Sedan, for a test drive, immediately after the services were performed, to which they were more than happy for me to do. Wow, was I ever impressed. I've never used Price's Service Center for any car repair services before. They removed a lawn mower blade for me, that was on too tight, so that I could sharpen it. And I've bought ethanol-free gasoline and diesel fuel from these guys for several years. Back to my test drive this afternoon in the BMW 535xi Sedan. The car was quiet as a mouse, and I looked under the hood, and I could not even tell, that they had been under there to replace the water pump and thermostat on this BMW. I was so pleased with the service, and promptness to which I had the car back. So swiftly!!! Steve Swain, and Robert Smith are professionals, to say the least. Also courteous, and polite, ALWAYS!!! Steve Swain even drove my truck, following me back to our office in town, to park the BMW, there. Then I drove Steve back to Price's Service Center. These guys treat customers like Royalty. Top Notch Service for my BMW!!! I highly recommend Price's Service Center for any repair that your car/truck will ever need. These Guys Are Outstanding!!! My son has my car at VT. I have had to deal with Price's now 3 times in the last year. The first time was for a state inspection and oil change. I had requested that for the oil change they use synthetic oil as that is what I had been using when I do the oil changes myself. They gladly accommodated my request. The next time was when my son got a flat tire and he took it there. They diagnosed that the tire needed to be replaced due to it having been driven on to long flat. I was able to have a tire shipped in and they quickly replaced it. They even called the road hazard warranty people for me. Well, it happened again on another tire and they were able to help me again and once again contacted the road hazard warranty people for me. They have been great to deal with over the phone and I am super confident that I found a trustworthy repair facility in Blacksburg should by son need any auto services again. read more

Just awesome. I called on a Sunday when I couldn't get my Jeep out of 4x4. Since it was Sunday, the shop was closed, but a nice man answered anyway. He said they could take a look first thing Monday morning, but when I told him my car issue he gave me some directions to try on my own. And it worked! A lot of auto shops wouldn't have given free advice or even answered their phone during off hours (I could have just gotten very lucky, but still...), so I am very thankful for this place. If you need auto servicing done in Blacksburg, pick Price's without hesitation. After my college student's car had repeat dead battery issues I had her take it to a local parts store to run the diagnostics. All appeared just fine except for a significant electrical draw from an unknown source. It looked like we were headed for a big bill. However, Price's came recommended by the parts store technician & when they reran the diagnostics they quickly determined it was the battery after all. This all sounds like a straight-forward battery issue, but it was the customer-focused team at Price's that really made the difference. Instead of the usual parts & cost run-up (you also need...), Price's delivered honest service & and very reasonable estimate. On the contrary, we've had work done at another Blacksburg service center who clearly preyed on college students. Price's is our new first choice should we need their help again! read more
