From the moment I arrived, Paul Gulski, one of the owners, was personable, professional, and thorough. He asked me to write down the problem in my own words, then explained that he would check the fuses, wiring, connections, and everything else before providing an update and quote. He also assured me that no work would begin until I approved the cost. I expected them to look at it later in the day, but Paul started diagnosing the issue as soon as I left. He found the problem quickly, called with an update, and completed the repair when promised. The final cost was extremely fair. What stood out most was how Paul treated me. He greeted me like a longtime friend. I was feeling anxious about how expensive the repair might be, and I happened to be wearing a shirt that said, "But Did You Pray?" Paul noticed it and prayed out loud. I immediately felt a sense of peace and was reminded that God takes care of us and that there is no reason to be anxious. Deer Park Automotive has earned my trust and is now my go-to place for auto repairs. You may have to fight me if you try to make me go anywhere else. I absolutely recommend them!

Not knowing any better, I agreed and paid for it all. Totaling to $154. I come to find out later that the steering wheel reset is supposed to be a step in the alignment process and the steering wheel reset doesn't actually affect if the car pulls to the left or right. Basically I got taken advantage of as someone who didn't know any better. Not coming back.

Finding a new mechanic can be tricky and frustrating however they made the process so easy. I requested a diagnostic and of course my engine light was no longer on. He spent over an hour trying to find the problem and said he was available if it came up again. Sure enough it did the next day and he grabbed the part and fixed the issue. This is the first time I felt I got a great price, service and communication from a mechanic without feeling like I got duped once they left. I hope they know they are my go to service now. Years ago I had an SUV that just died while I was getting gas nearby. I walked to McBroom's since it was the closest shop (right across a side street actually). I asked if I could use their phone to call a tow truck, but one of their mechanics volunteered to come and look at my SUV and try to start it for me. This went on for about an hour until he finally decided to tow it with his own truck to their garage. The next day, my car was running so I picked it up and drove it to my side of town. It died after about 20 minutes. So why such a glowing review if my truck/SUV wasn't actually fixed? I was charged nothing for the time and effort that this mechanic put into my car. Yes, he didn't totally fix it, but he did what he could to the best of his abilities and for FREE!! Most people in the Houston area wouldn't even bother to look at one of your troubled autos without agreeing to a $75-100 fee first! I guess McBroom's is just proof that while we all complain about mechanics there are still some good ones out there. You may just need to get out to the suburbs to find them!

I went in for an inspection at the beginning of November 2025 and the guy who did the inspection…read moreinformed me that my front and rear brakes needed to be replaced within the next month or two. No lies, just honest, caring and helpful. I waited until Jan 31, 2026 to replace the brakes because of finances. Turns out my rotors were worn and should be replaced, with the front being priority over the back. He said I could keep the rotors if I could deal with a little squealing. I went ahead and had the rotors replaced too. The total for front and rear brakes, front rotors, and to fix something that was dragging under the car, came to $637, which I felt was reasonable. I highly recommend ETA Tire and Auto on Spencer Hwy and Center St., in Deer Park, TX because they are respectful, honest and not out to take your last dime. It was nice to hear that they are Christian owned! BONUS!!
