Came here because it's on the way home from work. I figured try it out since I've been trying to find a place to get a car wash. Cons: - takes too long - interior is separate - not 100% clean - old car wash (washing parts seem old and torn) Pros: - cost ($10-$17) - convenient - stay in the comfort of your car The car wash sends you through a car wash, but they do pre wash your car, then sends it out to two other guys that dry your car. The two guys who was pre-washing today took a while because one guy goes and takes the payment the helps shoot down the car then runs down and takes payment for the 2nd car, so it took awhile. But, they did time it so you're not waiting for your turn for car wash or drying station. Convenience because there are vaccuums before the car wash and it's also by a gas station. Overall the wash wasn't bad but it wasn't 100% good either. I still could see dirt on the car afterwards. read more

Desperately needed to wash my car. Stopped by and got the #3 wash for $17. And they did a great job! I was worried that it would be awkward when they open your doors to wipe the interior of the door. But they are really nice and made small conversation. Plus my car is shining now thanks to them! And I also love the makiki auto shop next door. Which I'm guessing is the same owner? Idk but I remember this place being around from when I was super young. My mom used to come here all the time. And it's well worth the money ! Awesome job guys! read more

The car wash here is a machine wash with a human touch also. They pre-scrub your wheels with brushes which gets off more grime than any purely mechanical wash can do. They also hand spray your vehicle before it goes through the machine getting a lot of hard to get junk like bird droppings off. Once you go through the machine wash a couple of guys will hand dry your vehicle so you don't have a lot if hard water spots. I've used this car wash as well as others on Kapiolani and Kahala and it's my favorite. read more

I really needed a car wash, this place seemed to have better reviews then the others so I gave it a chance. I was very impressed with the prices. The most expensive wash is $16.99, they clean your rims and undercarriage. They pressure wash your vehicle before they scrub it down and also fold in your side mirrors so they don't fold outward during the wash (PLUS!) At the end, two employees dry your car and also the inside of your car. Expect all doors to open, I was so scared but after I calmed down was impressed with the service I gave a bigger tip than normal. read more

We looked for a working vacuum ALL over this island before getting here 10 minutes after they had closed. One of the workers did is the HUGE favor of letting us into the chained off area to vacuum our rental while everyone else was packing up and getting ready to leave. We vacuumed as quick as possible but no one rushed us, so they get a 5/5 stars from me for their kindness/customer service. read more

Beware the pumps at Don's, especially if you want a regular car wash. The button for that is disabled on some pumps. You must choose the more expensive wash. Then another problem comes up. There is no way to cancel and get out of the transaction. It is a poor business practice to trap customers. read more

I was at the store on 02/2021 at 12:27 AM and asked for a cup of water. I have never had a more horrifing experence. The cashier MAURICIO said that he would not allow me to have water unless I paid the $.83 cents for it. After paying the $.83 cents, this man actually started to verbally assult me and I was threatened to be shot with a big green slingshot. I was told by him over and over again Fuck you and get out of the store. He said this to me literally over and over. All this time while I was making my water the manager finally walks out from a door and had nothing to say to this employee who had spent their money in this store and was receiving a total lack of harassment and humiliation in front of other customers. I just hope that this doesn't happed to you. Mr. Mauricio should be fired, this is in no way to talk to a paying customer. The manager is just as wrong to allow this to happen to anyone read more

I love getting my car washed here. They do a great job. The location in town is very convenient and it usually takes less than 15 minutes for the pre wash, machine wash and hand dry. There's self serve vacuum cleaners too. The place is clean and the people that work there are very nice. read more

This review is only for the car wash. Best car wash value on the island that I've found. $12.99 for #2 (wash, including under carriage and tri color wax coat). They wash the body of the car and tires with soft brushes and high pressure soap water before entering so your car almost gets a double wash! They also have men that hand dry your car and wipe the door jams and runners. Line runs pretty quick too! read more

My favorite car wash! They are fairly priced & the guys do a GREAT job spraying & scrubbing your car down before it even goes in the machine wash. There is a gang of birds that love to hang out on the telephone line above my truck where I park at home; needless to say, my truck gets DISGUSTING. These guys always spend the time to spray all the nasty, stuck on poop & scrub it off. It's like getting 2 washes for the price of 1! & then, let's not forget the hand dry after! The guys may look a little rough & scary but they are always very polite & don't miss the little details & they are quick. I hate that I hardly ever carry cash & feel really bad when I can't tip them more than just a few dollars because they are so great. A great car wash service in the heart of downtown near Ala Moana and Walmart. This sentence describes the essence of this place. Now down to the brass tacks. Service ranges from pretty darn good to eh... What I mean by this is that the workers (whom I never recognize since there seems to be a large turnover) here are mainly for labor; physical work and not a need for any other type of work which is required at any other establishment. You start by paying whom I think is the owner, since he's the only guy I seem to recognize every time I use this car wash, and then are led to the tracks of the wash by (usually) two gentlemen. They soap up the car using brooms, sponges, and other tools before the car heads into the machine. There is nothing special about this particular machine. The only distinguishable factor is that there are three options of cleaning to choose from as you enter the machine. The first is the standard wash which leads to a towel wipe at the end with two gentlemen servicing your vehicle. The second option includes the first and cleans your rims as well. The third option has all what the first two option offers and then includes some sort of wax to keep the car shinier. I apologize that I do not remember all options in its entirety, but that is the gist of all three options. This locally operated car wash has been here for years and I appreciate that most of the time I get pretty darn good service. Happy yelping everyone. read more

So I'm never coming back here again. Horrible customer service. I've waited in line for 30 minutes... When it came to my turn the guy came up and said the machine is down so I wouldn't be able to get my car washed today... He left it at that and didn't offer me an apology or didn't offer me a discount of any sort not like I was expecting one but they really should step up their game if they want people to continue coming back to them even if stuff like this happens to them they need to figure it out... Customer service is number one and they don't have it... they should really make sure they have their machines working correctly... Purchased coffee and gas to this company today and the employee called me Stupido and shake her head when I turned away. She was a Filipino old lady identified her self as "Carol". I was getting my coffee and couldn't find the lid. I was so nice and asked her where is the lid for the coffee, she was yelling "it's right behind you". I paid my coffee with my $5 and she handed me my change. Right after that moment, I told her can I have $18 on number 8 please. I can see her grouchy face and shaking her head and calling me stupido as I turned away. Because of her attitude I will never go back there again! read more

Don's Makiki car wash is one of the better automated washes in Honolulu but they're absurdly inefficient. Their fine car automated car wash tunnel can probably handle dozens of cars an hour, but due to understaffing, it only handles maybe one every 10 minutes. I do like the fact they soap down the car before entering the tunnel and they hand dry after the tunnel. Be prepared to spend at minimum 1 hour for a wash. read more

It's true that it's not speedy; we went on a Sunday morning and it took 30 minutes, but that's about average in my experience. However I think it's totally worth it- our car looks great and guys were all very friendly. Reasonable price for the quality. read more

Five minutes per car and this place is always slammin. Like one poster said, I don't really like how they have to manually scrub your car down before going through the machine. It's bad enough they use a pressure washer to rinse your vehicle. It's funny how it takes only a couple of minutes to go through the machine. read more
