Oh, actually I have a good guess, they provide service to all the city and county and schools district vehicles - which we know the taxpayers are paying twice to three times what it should cost... Writing this review as my kids and I wait here for another 2+ hrs. Not sure what happened to Don's Mobile Glass, but service is not what it used to be. I brought my vehicle here based off of past experience, they were reliable.Today's experience in the meantime was quite the opposite. I called a day earlier and was advised by the receptionist first come first served. I brought my vehicle in @ 0730 hrs. I was the first vehicle in and no cars in any of the bays. The receptionist promptly took my information and stated it should be done in a couple of hours. The technician came and I walked him to my vehicle. He also stated work should be done in a couple of hours. To my understanding a "couple" meant 2 hrs. At 1000 hrs I arrive back at shop. That's over 2 hrs time. The receptionist tells me they're now removing the windshield and because it's the original glass they're having a hard time removing it and added if it's been replaced before it would be easier. Well what kind of poor excuse is that. You tell me for 2 hours all they've done is try to remove the glass?? She told me it won't be ready for another 2 hrs or so. How frustrating is that! Don's Mobile Glass, this is all you guys do, change windshields. The way the receptionist said it sounded like it was a hassle to fix my vehicle. You figure your employees know what they're doing. If you don't have trained employees then don't accept the work. Don't tell customers when it's supposed to be done when you can't get it done in time. Now I'm just hoping that the windshield work was done properly. read more

Had a broken front windshield on my car and after they told me they could fix the next day and then when I called the next day they told me they were booked. Took 15 min to get them to make an appointment the day after and had to argue for that. So I took the next day after moving appointments around. The technician was supposed to call on his way over, never did. Then couldn't even move my paperwork and contracts that were sitting on the front seat and toss them in the back seat. Instead. Just sat on then and scrunched and tore them. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! read more

Had my windshield replaced in 2017 and the service was excellent. Took it back 2019 to get the drivers side replaced and they left rattling glass in the door, took it back to get that addresssed and then they didn't level the window correctly and it was hitting the trim at opening the door. Took it again to get the alignment addressed on the drivers side and a rock happened to crack my windshield so figured two birds with one stone. Took care of the door issues (third times the charm) however, they didn't order the correct windshield although I had it previously replaced by them in 2017 and it should have been on file (I kept the receipt), so I'll have to take it back yet again as it's missing the blue tint it originally had. First of all no one answers the phone. You have to leave a message and you may or may not get a call back I've been waiting a week. They replaced my back windshield with crap glass it looks like you're looking in a funhouse mirror. But I went to pick it up I questioned them about this and they said oh no that's the way it's supposed to be. Check with my insurance company and no that is not the way it's supposed to be waiting to hear back from them to get a replacement. They did a great job with the initial install or our back window in late August, upon moving to the Oregon coast we noticed a leak in the back glass area - contacted Don's and they said we could bring it in- the technician inspected and it was determined that the leak was coming from the 3rd taillight and not the glass. The tech took it apart and made the repair even though he could have just sent us on our way as it wasn't a glass issue. Can't say enough about Don's. My car got broken into, and after safelight quoted me a back roll up window the same price as my insurance deductible ( cray ) I shopped around. I called about 11 am; window was in stock and I was on my way by 1 pm. They were fast, efficient, budget friendly and their Scenic location is beautiful. I used Don's Mobile Glass several years ago when I had a rather odd need. I lived in an older Spartan Mobile Home. There was a round beveled window in the front door, a lot like a porthole. Don's was able to cut it properly and bevel it properly and get it installed in my door after a break-in. During the windshield repair they noticed that some clips that held the trim were worn down, they then went the extra mile and have them replaced as well. The manager "Ryan" was very helpful and informative and was able to answer any question I threw at him. I am thoroughly disappointed. I am a long-time customer, got my first windshield replaced 20 years ago. I commute a fair amount on the freeway and over the past 2 years I've needed two windshields replaced (to a total of nearly 850$). I ALWAYS go to Don's. I even come back to Modesto when I need to have something done even though I moved to the Bay Area 3 years ago. I trusted DMG and felt I would receive the best service and price if I came back, over going somewhere closer to where I live now. I had them come to my mother's house last time and replace there, this time I called and was offered a discount if i brought in my car to the shop on Scenic, so I did. When I arrived I noticed some writing on my work order stating "WAITING OR PICK-UP????", I was told I should've been asked when I made the appointment, but i wasn't. I assumed it would be about an hour, so I would wait (I had someone drop me off). At that time I was told it would be more like 2 hours, and explained (more than once) that "it is a safety issue, it takes about an hour to replace the glass, and it has to sit for an hour to bond, for safety, so you can drive away, safely and not have the glass fall off", and "do you still want to wait?" I was annoyed, but agreed to come back, and just booked an Uber. I went over the car with a technician and asked him "when do you close, and when should I be back?" (since I'd have to arrange a ride back), he told me "around 5pm" and confirmed that I could come back at that time to pick up my car (my appointment was for 3pm, and I had actually dropped off the car around 2:35pm). I got a ride back and arrived at 4:55pm. When I met with the same person at the front counter he seemed surprised I was there. He asked "did someone call you?" I said no, related what he had said earlier about it taking 2 hours, and the technician saying they closed around 5 and that I could come back at 5 and they would be done, and was met with "um...... We actually close at 5:30, and..... Let me check on your car." At that point I looked thru and into the shop and it appeared as though my car didn't even have a windshield on it (at 5pm), but I could've been wrong... The man came back and told me "It needs to set for another 30 minutes and then you can take it". I was annoyed again, but had no real other choice. I waited. I received my paperwork and car at 5:35pm. When I was back to my mother's house I looked over the additional paperwork (the sheet that explains the serial number for the glass and when it was installed) and it said that the glass was PLACED at 5:05pm, and delivered to customer at 6:05pm (it was 5:45 at this point). So, you tell me what that means. After being told over and over about how they were doing things for my "safety", this was laughable. (and I'm glad i didn't get into an accident on the way home and my windshield didn't come off). I received an email, and it was noted on my receipt, to complete a satisfaction survey, which i did, and explained that i was INCREDIBLY unhappy with my experience, gave my phone number and email address and ASKED them to contact me for more details. They never did. It's been more than 2 weeks. So here I am. I know Don, and I can only imagine how he would feel to hear about his good name and the business he grew being represented in this way. Way overpriced for the service they provide. I needed to replace the motor/regulator of my car's window and they originally stated because they did not have the part in stock they will order it and use the $80 I paid for the inspection towards the service. They quote me for almost $430 in total for the service due to an overpriced part. I went online and found the part for a third of the cost they were quoting me. I paid $70 from the original manufacturer not an after market and they wanted $270 for the same part. After I decided to order my own part they right away flipped the script and clearly stated they were not going to guarantee the job and the $80 previously mentioned were for the inspection so I will have to pay in full the $130 labor cost to change the motor. I guess they prefer a one time customer rather than a lifetime relationship. read more

Saturday: Good Immediate fix: Good faster than estimated over phone: Good credit card: yes scheduling: ok. I needed two small single pane glass windows with aluminum frames replaced at a residential house. I was actually referred by a different glass company since they didn't work weekends and were super busy already. Don's mobile glass was able to come out on a Saturday, which was nice. The estimated service time was from 8am-4pm and the reason they gave me was that there was only one technician going out that day for all the scheduled requests and just goes in order. He was able to fix the two windows in about 30 minutes for $200. read more

My family and I were driving to SoCal when someone shot a bebee at our driver side window on the freeway at 530 in the morning. The window spider webbed and was in danger of shattering. We found that this facility opened earlier than everyone else (7am) and wasn't too far away. We decided to wait in their parking lot until opening. Jacque was the opening manager and warmly invited our family in to enjoy snacks and coffee while he took care of our truck. Needless to say we were back on the road by in about an hour and a half.
