My son took me here last week and I've been in the area for 3 years and never knew it was here. So for me it's a little hidden gem The donuts were absolutely off the chart in assortment and flavor. And truly good coffee ( I needed to ask what kind it was). The lady behind the counter made us feel so welcome and was so patient and kind as there was so much to choose from. So fresh, so tasty and such a welcoming atmosphere. Good thing it's not right around the corner from where I live However I will make it a point that when I'm in the area to stop in and indulge. You might wait in line but the family service is nice. Donuts are expensive no matter where you go, so the $3/per shouldn't shock you. They have a nice mix of big donuts unlike the chains. My husband's apple fritter was great but my cake donut with chocolate frosting and nuts wasn't. On first inspection, it seemed smaller, felt and tasted old, and once bitten into, didn't appear to be done. It had areas where there were holes and undone clumps. Ever since then all I do for any celebration is one of their donut cakes! Just make sure you give them a 24 hour notice but they can whip this little delicious beauty up in no time! So my wife and I won a FREE SPONTANEOUS WEDDING in September. We had $10k to spend, but it was parted out to select vendors. Donut Haus was chosen for the cake (turns out a few other places had turned down the offer because it was needed within 10 days...Donut Haus didnt care). My wife made me deal with the cake. Our original wedding plan was to do a Rock and Roll themed weding at a concert venue...but the venue was chosen (the beautiful Budweiser Biergarten in Fort Collins).... however, we wanted to incorporate our theme as much as possible. I walked into the Donut Haus on an obviously BUSY day and talked to the manager while she made cupcakes. I told her I wanted it to have a rock theme... she asked if we wanted to include some of our ink..I loved my wife's new "trash polka" (google it) tattoo and so we went with that. It came out amazing. Not your typical wedding cake..but we arent the typical couple. And it tasted amazing (the few bites we had a chance to eat). Our topper however got ruined by the heat that day. The wife was bummed cuz she really wanted to do the one year anniversaary thing. A couple days after the wedding I received an email from the Donut Haus saying that they knew we wouldnt see the invoice/receipt, so they wanted to let us know that we get a FREE small round cake for our 1 year anniversary...tragedy averted. My son and I also sampled a donut when we went in to talk to the lady about the cake... delicious! All in all I have zero negatives about this place...they took on a rushed job that other bakeries wouldn't touch, and gave our cake the US feel...as well as made it delicious! We had a coupon that said buy 3 get 3 free. I called in my order for eight donuts and told the person on the phone that I had a coupon. She said okay and that I would pay for five donuts. My husband went to pick up our order and they would not honor the coupon because a donut "has a hole in the middle". No where on the coupon did it state it had to have "a hole in the middle". They have lost a long time customer. We went to the original Donut Haus is Estes Park before moving to Loveland. When we started going to the Loveland store, the people were great and so were the donuts. No longer. We can get better quality donuts at King Soopers for way cheaper. My family actually knows Dieter, the original owner, and he would be extremely disappointed with the quality of the donuts and the customer service.
