Visiting a friend and she suggested this spot. I can see why this space is a local favorite. While there, the small seating area was full (about 4 tables), but a few picnic tables outside. The line moved fast, but they stayed consistently busy. Berthoud is growing and this spot has staked its claim due to their fresh bread and goods. I was strongly encouraged to order their sourdough bread and ask them to slice it for you. It's delicious. If/when I return to the town, I will be back. read more

We love Rise! We come here every year we visit Berthoud. The pastries are delicious and they have a huge selection, from scones to lemon bars, croissants to danishes. Our favorite breakfast are the bagel sandwiches, the Kiera or the 5th street are both delicious! The employees are super friendly and give great recommendations. Highly recommend!! read more

WOW, WOW, WOW is all I can say at first! I absolutely loved this bakery when visiting Berthoud. It's a local bakery that uses locally sourced and made from scratch bakery. As you enter the bakery, you get a sense of the historic feel of the building then you're greeted with cases of freshly made bakery. They offer New York style bagels with plenty of sweet treats. Also, they offer an authentic bear claw! One of my favorite pastries. Their morning buns are authentic and nothing like other bakeries. Donuts are top notch too. Today, there were all female staff who were very friendly. I was impressed with the female staff who took my order. She didn't ask me to repeat anything. There are a small amount of tables inside and picnic benches outside to enjoy your beverage, sandwich or pastry. They do offer delicious breakfast sandwiches with plenty of options. They have various coffee options too. They use a local coffee as well. I was impressed with this place so much that I will stop here again to take some pastries home. Keep up the good work! Yummmm! Stopped in here for a quick lunch to-go and so glad we did. Ordered the Braintree and a toasted cheddar bagel with garlic chive cream cheese. Everything was tasty. The bagel had such a nice crunch on the outside while being warm and chewy on the inside and the cream cheese was sooo good. I thought it might be overpowering with the garlic, but it was subtle and oh so creamy (devoured too quick to get a pic). The Braintree was the perfect lunch sandwich! The quality of ingredients is great and that bread is amazing. The crust is so flavorful and it holds up really well with the delicious vinaigrette and loaded meats/cheese/veg. I came in to Rise earlier this morning. I chose a glazed donut & placed my order. Was told that item was sold out. It was on display in the case at the time I ordered it. If it was sold out, why wasn't it removed from display case? It appeared they were filling a big pre-order for another customer, but, still...they could've explained a little as to why item was sold out. Cashier wasn't particularly friendly about it. Cute place, limited seating. I pre-ordered a King Cake for Mardi Gras from here and it was very dry. I also ordered a King Cake from Rheinlander Bakery in Arvada and it was so much more moist and tasty than the one I got here, night and day different. I was also charged 40 cents extra for asking for extra half and half in my americano which was a first for me. $38 for a dry king cake that I ate one slice of then got rid of in addition to a 2 shot americano that cost $5? Over the past two days I've been competing in the Berthoud Snow Fest snow sculpting competition. In that time, I've visited Rise three times. I'm so delighted to have discovered this artisan bakery. With a wide selection of breakfast sandwiches on house-made bread, Rise has something for everyone. I opted for the Ned, which was essentially avocado toast on sourdough bread with greens and tomatoes on top. I was blown away by how huge this sandwich was, and at less than $7 none the less. It kept me full almost all day in the cold and was downright tasty. On the side I got some cider donut holes to share with my snow carving team because who can resist that? They were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a great flavor. Later in the day after getting nice and chilled carving snow, I went back for a Mexican Hot Chocolate. They accommodated almond milk as a non-dairy substitute. It definitely had a kick to it! I love that they offered a delicious spin on a classic favorite. I heard about this bakery on Facebook and gave it a try a few months ago. They have a wonderful online ordering system that is easy to use, and the delicious goods are ready and waiting for you. This place is very popular, with a line every time I have gone, so I love that I can order in advance and skip it all. Their gooey buns and cinnamon rolls are SUPER great, a real nice treat with your breakfast beverage of choice. I usually go in the AM, and each time I go these buns and cinnamon rolls are really wonderfully warm. I originally came for the apple cider donuts, but these for me, unfortunately were a big disappointment. The dough inside wasn't cooked all the way, and I just can't eat that kind of donut. I believe the problem is that it was too thick and the outside was cooked too fast not letting the inside catch up. I didn't want to spend money a second time to be disappointed again, so I just haven't ordered them again. I have tried their scones tho and they are also really nicely made. Great flavors and beautiful crumble to moist ratio. We also tried one of their loaves of bread, a nice sourdough and that was top notch. They don't have a way to slice it tho, so you have to be prepared to do that yourself. Its worth it though, they have a really good gift with breads. All in all, I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone coming thru Berthoud, and as a regular weekend place for Longmont locals. read more

Customer service was great! I was visiting from California and asked for their recommendations on their bread. I opted in for their pepperoni artisan pretzel and it was so good. I forgot to ask to heat it up so I did that when I got back to where I was staying at. Pretty decadent. The portion of their biscuit was huge that I had leftovers. I would heat it up and have it with some jam, honey, or butter. This would be one of my pit stops for sure before heading back home. 5/5 read more

This place is THE CUTEST. This hole in the wall Bakery is one I found through yelp and it did not disappoint. In fact, I have to have a pep talk with myself each morning about how I can live off of bread alone and how I don't need a breakfast sammie...EVERY MORNING. But if I have myself free reign, I would be here everyday. You can, however, purchase loaves of fresh bread to take home. They run out though, so you have to act fast! Everything here is good. Wednesday's are buy one get one half off breakfast sandwiches. I recommend the 5th street for basic bfast sammie lovers or The Sedona. So tasty! All do their bagels/bread options have been amazing but for sandwiches I love the cheddar green chili or the pretzel! So good. We also took a loaf of the sourdough home. They sliced it for us and it last, not very long. Needless to say this place is a little SLICE of heaven. If you love fresh amazing bread I would stop in. read more

Used to be really good but quality seems to be declining. Loaves of bread are sometimes super dense and chewy. The worse part about this place is their "rewards" program. You get 1 point for each dollar spent. If you want a free loaf of bread you need to spend $500 to get 500 points. If you buy a loaf of bread a week and toss in a pastry, you'd need over a year to get 500 points. But here's the catch, after a year your points will start to expire so you'll never earn enough unless you want a free cookie for 150 points. That's right, you need to spend $150 to get a free cookie. They benefit from being the only bakery in town. Unfortunate. read more

When you first walk in, you'll see a bakery case full of delicious pastries and on the counter you'll see another case of doughnutsbut don't let that distract you, there's plenty more! On the wall you'll see a menu full of breakfast sandwiches. All sound really good but I went with the Greenfield on asiago and I had no regrets. I also had a maple doughnut which was light and fluffy. I've been having a hard time trying to find a good doughnut that's not a fast food chain, I'm so glad I found Rise! read more

They have the most delicious sandwiches for lunch! Love the Braintree and the Putney mountain the best. Their bread is fresh and delicious and ingredients are high quality. Their pasties are good as well but know the icing on the donuts is SUPER sweet. We like their breakfast sandwiches as well but the Burlington is way too messy and somehow ends up being dry. I've gone there 4 times now while in town for 2 weeks visiting family. The lunch sandwich I had, The Braintree was very good. The panini I had, the Dean Park was a sloppy mess and would not recommend. I tried a few pastries and they were okay on average. Raspberry danish was okay but tasted similar to Panera or from other bakeries. The apple turnover was tasty! The cinnamon roll wasn't that great. $4 is a bit much for an okay cinnamon roll that isn't all that big. Maybe the batch I got aren't representative or they're better fresh? $3 or $3.50 seems more appropriate. Doesn't seem like that much, but when they're not that good it matters. read more
