The best donuts around! The fritters are huge, and the cake donuts are the best! Maple bars are awesome as well.

Let's start with a little warning: There's a rude older man who works there. If I see he's working, I just leave. He's rude, and if you're ordering something that needs to be prepared, he often messes up the preparation. He's the one bad element to an otherwise STELLAR establishment. Donut House is small, open 24 hours, and it makes the best damn donuts I've ever had. There's nothing sub-par in their case. The crullers are perfect. The buttermilk pies are heavenly. The blueberry fritter? I can't even find the words to describe how good the blueberry fritters are. If it's your first time to Donut House, get the blueberry fritter. Great donuts wide selection. I have been going here for some time and always thought the customer service was a bit iffy. But disregarded because the donuts were good. If you hit them right, their doughnuts are delicious -- best in the region. On two occasions I arrived just as the glazed buttermilk bars were ready to sell, still warm and SO AMAZINGLY GOOD - I keep coming back looking for the warm bars. Asked for two apple fritters and two blueberry fritters. After getting home I realized that I was given all blueberry. Not only that they were kinda burnt and they didn't taste very good. I suspect that she heard me correctly but just wanted to sell the burnt fritters. To me that's dishonest and very disrespectful. If I go back I'll definitely be paying more attention to what they're giving me and the quality of the donut. read more

The doughnuts here are amazing! Absolutely the best we've ever had anywhere. We drive up from Everett, two hour round trip, just to get doughnuts from this place! I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the rude little man that works behind the counter in the evening, which is when we make the trip. He's always filthy looking, constantly pulls the wrong doughnuts even though you're pointing right at what you want while shouting the name of the doughnut at him, and he always acts as though the customer is an inconvenience that just has to be tolerated. He's probably one of the owners or I doubt they would keep him. read more

Truly the best doughnuts I have ever had. I have a weekly appointment in Anacortes, and I have been sampling many of their wares. Voodoo donuts in Portland don't come close to their quality and unlike Voodoo, they are worth waiting for (but you don't have to). The service is always friendly, patient, and you can actually take time to carefully choose your donuts. The blueberry fritter is tasy AND pretty, and there is a good selection of the buttermilk doughnuts. The only complaint I have is the fact that they don't make them calorie free. read more

Stopped for doughnuts on the way to the ferry. What a great find! The doughnuts were fresh, large and super tasty. They have an incredible variety. We ended up with 3 different apple treats, a couple of chocolate, and a cinnamon. Definitely worth another visit our next time to the ferry. read more

I used to go to the donut house every time I went to Anacortes. This place used to have the most amazing donuts but they are not the same as in years past and I am so disappointed. One of the best places you will find donuts anywhere. (Way better than anything from Seattle.) I always stop here on the way to the San Juan Islands--a necessary stop. Donuts are huge--two are almost too much. Last time I went to the Islands, I had two of my sisters and their husbands along. They loved them. The doughnuts here are good but unfortunately every time we come here the staff is very unfriendly and the inside is dirty! The bathroom is really gross and there is no way to dry your hands. Don't bother to ask for a paper towel or they will glare at you!!! read more

Very disappointed... I'm sorry, I just get disgusted when I see flies in the donut case. The floors were dirty and the little old lady at the register was rude, rude, and RUDE! It's my understanding the owner was out of the country leaving a miss-managed manager behind. Maybe the owner should be more involved in the business. Best donuts in the state(s) of Washington and Oregon. Old-school and a large variety. Their fritters and buttermilk bars are big and they are one of the few places that still sells vanilla cream (angel cream) donuts. read more
