Good donuts and coffee. Fast and friendly service even on a busy Saturday. Outdoor seating is a little tired but it was fun watching the train go by.

There was a long hair inside kolache. The donuts were fine but that really ruined it for us.

We were greeted promptly and took a few minutes to look at the menu. I LOVE roast beef, so it peaked my interest. My wife chose the Smiley burger. We placed our order and grabbed a seat. Place was quiet even though it was probably 75% full for lunch. Roast beef was served hot in toasted sour dough. Cheddar, tomato, lettuce and horseradish topped the generous portion of roast beef. Bread was crisp and the beef was hot and juicy. Horseradish gave a nice tangy flavor. My wife's Smiley burger was hand patted. Juicy and perfectly cooked. Bun was soft inside and nicely toasted in the outside. Bread and butter pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce topped it off. But the star of the show were the fries cooked in beef tallow!! Hot and salty, crispy and a deep flavor. I would come back just for the fries. Although a little bit pricey for lunch, it was excellent! Staff were friendly and attentive! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thanks for an awesome lunch and excellent experience!

This place was packed for lunch. The sandwiches I saw being made looked delicious. The Smiley cheeseburger was $15.95 and to add fries and soda was $6.95 so almost $25 for a burger combo. The burger was good. It tasted like it was cooked in a cast iron skillet and the fries were shoestring fries. That is my least favorite fry but the taste was really good. The staff was nice and was very efficient in how they ran everything. I definitely wanna come back and try a deli sandwich

Everyone was courteous from the time we entered the restaurant until the time we walked back out the door. The space held a nice, low-lit ambiance. Italian decor and pictures graced the walls. The waitress had to come back and apologize and said they had crab claws if that worked. Guess what?! No crab claws. I mean gezz. At least make sure you have the replacement of the replacement for an item you don't have. Food wise, the bread they give you were rocks. Stale! The calamari was fried to oblivion! The beef ravioli was decent but the Alfredo sauce for the gnocchi was broken. Looked like when you warmed up Alfredo in the microwave. I jumped at the chance to try this place out because of the reviews of other Yelpers. The restaurant is sitting on the corner of Pelham Parkway and County Road 68 East, across from The Foundry Superthrift Outlet and Dollar General, and next door to TherapySouth. It is a nice sized place and the atmosphere is welcoming. I was helped by Dyron, who seemed like he never knew a stranger. He was so kind to everyone, including those on the phone. I even heard him say, "So we got your dad covered - what can I get started for YOU?" He was excited when he found out I was a "newbie". I love the menu. Each item has some form of "hit" in the name - slappin', crackin', slammin', and more. I ended up with the "Bussin' Burger" and a side of fries to go (since I was heading back to work). The food is cooked upon ordering, so my meal was nice and hot when I left. And I am here to tell you, the name of the burger was totally accurate! It was delicious - seasoned very well, and the perfect amount of toppings. The fries were good, but that burger - so good! No wonder Hit Different is a 2026 Shelby County Small Business of the Year Nominee! They deserve it and then some! Do yourself a favor, listen to the other Yelpers, and head down Highway 31 for an amazing meal at Hit Different! I am going back!

If you look at the picture of the Big Jack hamburger on the display menu you need to lower your expectations about 50%. They need to change the name, from Big Jack to Just Jack. Nothing big about it other than a bunch of bread. When I walked in and went to the register to order my food, there was no one in front of me in the line. It took slightly over eight minutes for someone to take my order. Person really never spoke to me, but just stared at me and waited for me to tell her my order. She did tell me how much I owed. As for ambience, I ended up taking my food to go because ordering my food and getting my food took a long time. I'm in that area every Sunday but have never been to that Jack's location. The dining area is nicer than your typical fast-food place. It's nice that they deocrate it for the holidays, too. They were pretty busy, so not all of the tables had been wiped down, but we found one that worked. We did have to ask for napkins as the dispenser was empty. (We've since been back around the same time of day, and all the tables were clean and the napkins stocked.) Pretty good burger for the deal if you use their app. I also like that you can get a less-fastfoodish option of chicken and veggies if you want.

When you get to the light at the corner of 31 and Pelham Park Blvd, just look to the right and you'll see a quaint little white building. Behind it is the Pelham Public Library which looms over Bullet and to the other side of Bullet is Edgars Bakery. As mentioned BC has been there about a year now. The other BC is on 280 and there's one more in Fairhope. All are owned by the same individual who also owns their sister store the Red Mountain Expresso. BC is not technically another "pop up" coffee place because this is actually a brick and concrete building albeit it's just big enough to be a full service drive thru, but it doesn't have any seating inside or out. Just a drive thru. The drive-thru is planned nicely so it's easy to get to the order window then around to the pickup/pay window. Their menu options long and diverse but also typical of any coffee place. They also serve fresh daily sausage biscuits and pimento cheese biscuits. They have specialties like the Turtle latte, Classics like cold brew, blended drinks like frappes and non coffee drinks like iced teas and chai. I was lucky today because they are in middle of running a special called Frappy Hour good for another week. From 3-6pm all medium frappes are $2! I tried the Java Chip and Cookie & Cream. She asked me if I wanted the "coffee" or "milk" based. The coffee is the traditional way but the milk would be more like a milkshake. I chose coffee. I didn't get whipped cream which was offered. I only had to wait a couple minutes after paying. She even gave me a frequent visitor card. Get 10 drinks, get the 11th free! The cookies and cream was good, but the java chip was even better.
