Ok, I go to Pelham High School right up the street, and we have doughnut Wednesdays where we all pitch in and all get doughnuts for about 15-25 of us in the morning. After trying out all the doughnut shops in the area, even driving to hoover for Crispy Creme, we all still love Donut Joes, Hands down. Everyone especially loves the maple bacon ones. We normally get 2-5 dozen! Even my parents were skeptical at first, but once they tried them, they loved them. Best way to describe them is like a fresh pancake, with maple syrup and bacon. They are amazing! They are always friendly, and even carry energy drinks and glass bottled sodas! Best thing for a Sunday morning is an apple fritter. But you have to buy them on Saturday because they're are closed on Sun. Hands down, best doughnut shop! read more

This place can't be beat. I used to think KK doughnuts were good, but when I tried Donut Joes, I realize that KK pales in comparison. Also, the service is great. A while back we ordered a maple bacon donut cake for a birthday party and didn't realize that they had given us the wrong cake until I had gotten home. Awesome customer service!! It was pouring down rain when I arrived ... I jumped out of my truck and a guy with an umbrella came up to me and helped me inside. They make'em fresh daily. The donuts are great. I have had the bear claws, glazed, bacon donuts. They are large in size and good to the tummy. But not good for the waist line. They close when they sell out for the day. So don't wait too long to get ur donut fix for the day. read more

These donuts are fresh, creative flavors and well priced. Personally I am a fan of the maple bacon. The red velvet is a nice treat but is almost too sweet to eat a whole one yourself. There are many things to like here. A local business with ties to the community. Awesome donuts with flavors you don't get at the chain shops. Family-run, very friendly and fast service. And good prices. The coffee is roasted locally and there are several flavors to choose from. Nice seating outside when weather permits. I went to Donut Joes the service is very good. The donuts were yummy, but they were quite overpriced and even though they tell you they are reasonably priced I think they could do better when it comes to the pricing. If you don't mind paying high prices then come here. But you could do better going elsewhere. read more

I've lived across the way for almost a year and finally stopped in here this past weekend. Got a half dozen mixed because my dude was craving some "artisinal donuts." The folks behind the counter were very patient as I made my decision and this place just feels all around homey and comfortable. If I recall, my mix was a jelly donut, boston cream, Reese's, Butterfinger, cookies and cream, and a maple bacon (because you have to!) They were all delicious without being over-the-top rich. My favorites were the cookies and cream and the boston cream, which were the only ones I had - my dude took care of the rest and I heard no complaints. I'm gonna have to go back for some "award winning" apple fritters and some of those breakfast-sandwich dealios. read more

My first time there today. I recommend it for anyone in the area. For one, it appears to be one of the rare 'unique' (aka not plastic cookie cutter suburban sprawl) restaurants to be found in cookie cutter suburban sprawl Pelham. Second of all, definitely one of the 'good' donut shops- the donuts were fresh and there was just enough spread in diversity of options. Most in my clan chose among the chocolate options. I chose the blueberry donut. I'd say it was probably the second best blueberry donut I've had after Lamar's Donuts in Oxford, AL. It was nice outside so we sat at one of several outdoor tables. The guy who was on shift was friendly and nice. I would go back. Not the premier donut spot in the South, but I haven't experienced anything better than this in metro Birmingham yet in the donut shop category. read more
